Lovely house with all the amenities required and in a great location to explore Trawden. One of the nicest places we have stopped in over the years. Very peaceful and relaxing.

We had a wonderful stay at Alexander's cottage. The cottage was very pretty, very clean with everything you could possibly need. The area was beautiful and Alexander sent us plenty of information about things we could do along with recommendations on food, shopping etc.Check in went perfectly.Alexander kept us fully informed of everything we needed to know.Definitely one of our best holiday rentals.Thanks Alexander

What a great place this is! The cottage is really cosy and well laid out. Trawden is gorgeous, and the community shop is well worth a visit or two. Alex is an excellent host. Highly, highly recommended.

Amazing cottage in a very sweet quiet town, the host was great at communicating and very lovely. Could not have had a better place to stay for our trip to Lancashire. 10/10 would recommend!

Super cute cottage, great location. Lovely pubs within walking distance the sweetest village shop. Really enjoyed our stay. Host is helpful and provides lots of information with local attractions.

Great base for local area

Spring Cottage was a great base for us while we were up in the area visiting friends. The cottage is cute and cozy and had everything we needed for a weekend stay. The Trawden Arms is a short walk away and does good food and there are loads of great walks in the area. The host, Alex was very friendly and helpful.

Spring Cottage

The Cottage was very clean & tidy, warm, inviting & had a lovely homely feel. Our host, Alex, was an amazingly helpful & friendly guy. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be staying at Spring Cottage again.

Really lovely cottage!

Beautiful little cottage in a gorgeous location. Was only a short stay for us as we had come up to see family, but we’ll come again for a longer stay and do some walking.Alex - the owner - was fab with comms and answered all our questions.Lovely and clean, had everything we needed. Even milk and a welcome pack of choccy biccies, thank you Alex!Towels provided as well.

What a gem!

Absolutely lovely cottage - well appointed and decorated, very comfortable living room, beautiful garden, fantastic community in Trawden village including community owned shop, library and pub! It had everything we needed and left us feeling well rested. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful cottage in beautiful village

Fabulous cottage within walking distance of beautiful walking trails, historical buildings and landmarks and of course the amazing and friendly community run pub, shop and library. Beautifully presented and appointed cottage with a sun-trap of a garden overlooking glorious rolling countryside. Owner Alex is super responsive and helpful - 100% recommend this lovely home. The Cottage is very cosy but smelt of damp when we walked in, there was a terrible smell under the sink! There were no black out blinds or curtains in the bedroom, the quilt is not big enough and the bed and mattress was so uncomfortable. The bathroon could do with a good clean and the bathroom door does not close properly, loved the area and the local pub!!

Thank you for your feedback, and I appreciate you leaving the cottage so clean and tidy. It was a pleasure to host you, which is why I left you a 5-star review. I did visit the cottage after your stay to personally check the concerns you raised. I was unable to detect any damp smell at all, including under both the kitchen and bathroom sinks. The property has consistently received 5-star reviews across multiple platforms, and I’m proud to be a Superhost elsewhere. In over 700 guest stays, this is the first time damp has been mentioned. Or any mention of the quilt, which is a bit of an odd complaint! Regarding the bedding, the quilt provided is a standard double size for a double bed, which is the industry standard. Similarly, the mattress is a medium-firm one with a quality topper, and I’ve never received any previous concerns about comfort. You are correct about the blinds; they are standard rather than blackout. I appreciate this feedback and will look into upgrading them. That said, I lived in the cottage with my family for seven years, and aside from some natural early morning light, we didn’t experience the issues described. The cottage itself is over 300 years old, so while it’s full of character, it naturally differs from a modern new-build property with contemporary materials. I do wish you had contacted me during your stay, as I’m always available and would have happily come over to investigate and address any concerns immediately. I take great pride in both the cottage and the experience I provide to guests, and I’m always committed to resolving any issues quickly.

Perfect

This is one of the best VRBO places we have ever stayed in. It feels spacious because of the white walls and furniture and because it is not all cluttered (unlike so many other VRBO's!). The kitchen has all you need, the beds are comfortable, the room with the king size bed has a large window, giving a lot of light. The house is lovely with landscaping in the front and a garden in the back, and many houses on the street have flower boxes. The house is about a 2 block walk from the local pub where many local people were enjoying a sunny day when we were there. The owner was great, and he gave us a book about the history of witches in the area.

A lovely cottage in a great location. The village has a great community run pub and shop and has real character. The villagers are friendly and helpful - even in the most trying times! We had a disaster on check out day when there was a huge snowstorm overnight and our car got stuck on the way out of the village. The owner welcomed us back to the cottage and made sure our family were safe and warm until the snow subsided and the roads were clear. An excellent host indeed! The village shop stayed open even though the volunteers had to walk miles through the snow, so we managed to cook some lunch before we headed off into the snow again. It’s a beautiful area and we will definitely be back (when the weather is better) to enjoy the local hospitality and the countryside.

Lovely little cottage in Trawden. Had a little trouble finding it as Google maps has it on the left side of the round as you come down the hill but it's on the right but other than that everything else was spot on. Went to the Trawden Arms in the village for a couple of drinks Saturday early evening. Friendly welcoming staff & there were quite a few people in having a drink so a good atmosphere. We didn't eat there but a lot of tables were reserved for dinning so I'm assuming it's a good place for food. Went to the Rock Cafe & Cake Shop for breakfast Sunday morning & had a full English breakfast which was all locally sourced & very nice. Lovely large lattes I can highly recommend too. Called in the well stocked village shop on the way back from breakfast & bought some craft ales which they have a good selection of.
