Marble Lodge - two bedroom cottage on the banks of the River Tilt

Set on the banks of the River Tilt, Marble Lodge is five miles up the Glen Tilt track, which is easily accessible by car if driven with care. Originally a shepherd’s cottage, Marble Lodge is a charming and comfortable lodge sleeping up to four guests in two bedrooms, in addition, there is a large sitting room with an open fire. Surrounded by the wildlife and wilderness of Glen Tilt, Marble Lodge is well situated for long walks along the pony tracks and several Munros (hills over 3000ft) are within a day’s hike. Angling enthusiasts will particularly enjoy the salmon fishing available seasonally on the River Tilt, and for non-anglers, the sight of these fish as they make their way upstream to spawn is a spectacle.

Peaceful and relaxing.

Marble lodge Blair Atholl met all our expectations. The first view of the lodge from the track was stunning. The lodge itself had all the amenities you would expect, comfortable and clean. The garden is well fenced in for dogs. The estate workers we met were polite and knowledgeable. A great experience from arriving to departure. We are booking again for 2027. Thank you. Magical location

Well presented unique lodge in a magical and beautiful surrounding. Its location in a tranquil and peaceful spot is the place to unwind. The property was also very clean. Description fitted the property. Using bottled water was no problem as there was amble supply, needed only a bit of adjustment. Although the track to Marble Lodge proved to be a bit daunting for our car, we loved very moment of our stay. Our next car will be an electric vehicle. The possibility to be able to charge the car at Marble Lodge might entice a next stay. Appreciated the free entry to Blair Atholl castle as well. Thank you!

Marble Lodge, Glen Tilt

Fantastic cottage in an amazing part of the world. Cottage has everything you need, very comfortable and exceptionally clean. Location is mind blowing, such a beautiful area, abundant wildlife, fantastic walks, fresh air and photo opportunities. This feels like switching off. Lovely cosy cottage which I look forward to visiting again.

Magical Marble

Marble cottage is utterly charming and is a magical place. The wildlife of Glen Tilt comes to meet you at Marble! We particularly enjoyed the house martins that occupy the eaves of the cottage- thankfully a thriving population. We also spotted lots of bird life as well as seeing the red deer every evening. The cottage is comfortable, clean and well equipped. We particularly want to compliment the excellent customer service by Steph of the Atholl estate. Many thanks.

A perfect escape

This has been our second visit to Marble Lodge and we can’t wait to return next year. The location is incredible and the lodge itself is a complete home from home; so clean and comfortable. Plenty of logs for the fire, faster internet than at home and a very comfy bed. We absolutely love it. The team at Atholl are lovely too.

Wow what a location

A deeply restorative family holiday

Our family of four stayed at Marble Lodge for the week and had a fantastic time. Loads for our two little ones to explore - nature, adventure playgrounds, cake shops, castles and more. The accommodation is warm and cozy with spectacular views outside and a crackling open fire inside.

Cozy cottage, amazing location.

We really enjoying our stay at Marble Lodge, the cottage itself was really comfortable and well equipped, but it's the location that really makes this place special. Great walks from the doorstep, we were able to bag some local munro's, and made use of the free pass to the castle too where we were able to see some beautiful antiques as well as learn more of the history of the estate and owning families. Will definitely be looking at other properties available for future visits.

The glen is a wilderness haven and Marble Lodge is perfectly placed for long and short walks, fishing and shopping in the local villages. The cottage is very comfortable and a generous welcome pack was provided on arrival along with a good supply of logs and coal. Looking forward to returning again in the future,

Wonderful place

Fantastic location, incredibly beautiful nature, river next to it, sheep walking by the house. A dream. This is why Marble Lodge is worth a stay. We only finde it a pity that there is a lot dust on each and in every radiator. The kitchen so stove inside was very contaminated, a lot of grease, baking tray completely dirty, water jug completely calcified...it doesn't have to be

Great stay at Marble Lodge

We had a great half-term break at Blair Atholl. The cottage is wonderful; secluded and remote in the most magnificent glen. We had a couple of storms, and a day's snowfall, but there was plenty of firewood, and we went on some lovely walks through the snow and rain with our dog. Everyone was very helpful as well, one of the fuses went and someone came to help get the lights back on without any problems.

magical stay!

We had a magical stay at the Marble lodge. We are still a little bit in aww about the beautifull view we had every day. The little cottage between the beautifull, magical mountains!! The place is a reel zen place. We went to the water a couple of times and we enjoyed great walks. We did our first Munro and we are hooked. Blair Castle is great to visit. We hope to come back. It had a special place in our hearts!!

Stunning location great fishing and walking

You cannot beat the location with fantastic walks from the door and wildlife. Fishing on beat 2 productive. Glen Tilt is a beautiful Glen. Cottage comfortable warm and welcoming with all facilities you would want. Bottled water for drinking didn’t impact our break. Shower pressure is low but plenty of hot water. We loved our stay and will be back

Stunning and tranquil location!

The Marble Lodge is located in a secluded, beautiful setting along the River Tilt and surrounded by high glens that make this stay so relaxing. The lodge is modern, very comfortable and well-appointed. We could have stayed much longer! We enjoyed lots of hiking, exploring, Blair Castle, town of Pitlochry and a wonderful dinner at the Loft Restaurant. Highly recommend stay. Of note, it’s approximately 6 miles down a dirt road. It’s very navigable but we had a small rental car and it was a bit of bumpy ride to and from the lodge.

Le cottage need some upgrades on the fourniture, the water pression in the showher is very very low, the road is a real track and for cars can be a problem.

Unique Location

This cottage would not be for everyone, but that should be obvious from the description. The only thing that surprised me was the furnishings, which were a bit of a jumble. A decent bedside table would have been appreciated. Furnishings and decor were like being back in the 1960s, but appliances were modern. You can now stream programmes on the smallish TV, although one night that wouldn't work at all (it was on again the next night) so that was unexpected bonus. With an old, low-slung car I worried about the drive in, but taking it carefully it was no problem. I loved the seclusion and the beauty, and would happily return.
