Historic Uptown Cottage - 1 mile to Tulane & Loyola

Just renovated. Well-appointed light filled two bedroom historic cottage in a lovely quiet uptown residential neighborhood. New furnishings, bedding, kitchen appliances and supplies. This is your NOLA home away from home. Located three blocks from the St. Charles Avenue Streetcar, five blocks from Freret Street restaurant row, five miles from the French Quarter, and a mile from Tulane and Loyola.
THE SPACE:
The cottage was once the horse stables for a nearby plantation. We lovingly renovated it into a two bedroom apartment in 2017. It's located behind our home, and is accessed through a private gated entrance and an 80 foot long landscaped pathway to the front door. With a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and private entrance, its perfect for long term guests and is kid friendly.

Uptown New Orleans fabulous stay

Wonderful location for New Orleans Uptown stay. Very quiet residential location closely located to Tulane and other favorite spots. Enjoyed stay and look forward to visiting the Big Easy soon.

Quiet family stay

New Orleans

This cottage located in Historic Uptown was just perfect for our weekend stay in New Orleans. The cottage was clean, decorated beautifully and had very comfortable beds. It is located on a beautiful street and is walking distance to coffee shops and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit NO. Communication with the hosts was excellent.

A Quiet Oasis

Location was close to plenty of food and drink. A very short walk to the St Charles trolley line. Felt very safe walking…we saw neighborhood security patrolling. The place is a stand alone VRBO, so no neighbors with a shared wall. Very quiet and the natural light was great. Place was clean and well cared for. Would we come back? A resounding “yes!”

Nice cottage, nice location

The cottage was clean, comfortable, and cute. It's a short walk to the streetcar line and convenient to get all over town, but it's secluded and private. Jenny put together a helpful little guide to nearby restaurants and shops, and that was a nice touch. I'd be glad to stay here again.

Just what we needed

My wife and I needed a quiet place to stay for a week while she recovered from a major surgery. Property covered all of our needs. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip.

We loved everything about our stay. This was such a great spot. Beautiful, relaxing and away from the French Quarter, yet so close to the trolley and easy access to the city. We would love to come back again!

The best spot

Jenny and Jeff have created a little quiet sanctuary in the most convenient neighborhood uptown. We enjoyed walking to dinner and having access to the streetcar. Parking is easy and accessible on the street. Don’t hesitate to stay in this comfortable and well-designed place.

Great Location! Perfect spot to enjoy New Orleans!

We had a wonderful time at this guest house/cottage! It was in a great location, just a short drive to all the best activities and sights New Orleans has to offer. The cottage was stocked with all the essentials and was so cozy. We were sad to leave, but enjoyed our stay very much!

Beautiful apartment in a quiet neighborhood not far from Many restaurants and Tulane where we were dropping off our daughter. The owner was super friendly and helpful and love that coffee and creamer were provided!

Great location, great home!

Incredibly clean and just as pictured. Worked wonderfully for 2 adults and a toddler. Easy to get around town from the location and the property owners has one of the best guidebooks I’ve ever seen in a location. Will be keeping this place in mind for future trips back to New Orleans!

Neighborhood cottage

Loved the mix of antique and modern decor and the location. Walked to coffee shop, restaurants, street car. No problems getting an Uber. Will for sure stay here again.

Beautiful Garden District backyard getaway

Jenny and Jeff are such gracious hosts, and the space is beautiful, comfortable, and clean. I loved making coffee in the morning and sitting in the window after a run up the streetcar tracks. We walked to dinner at the Columns Hotel and ice cream at Lucy Boone, and we were a quick ride from a dozen great spots. I highly recommend this gorgeous spot!

Perfect spot that did feel like home away from home.

I don't normally stay in NOLA for an entire week but my daughter was getting married and there was a lot to prepare for. I couldn't have asked for a better spot location wise and it was charming and so comfortable. I actually would have been happy to stay and I missed the place when I left! Hope to visit and stay here again.

Hidden gem

We have been to Nola at least a dozen times. This is one of our favorite locations. The cottage was perfect for the three of us. The location worked very well for us to walk to restaurants on Freret and to get ice cream at the Creole Creamery. The proximity to Tulane is great as well.

Perfect home base!

Everything was perfect, and the property was well-stocked and comfortable. The location was in a quiet area, with convenient access (10 minute walk) to the St. Charles streetcar, which we used to visit all the other neighborhoods nearby. We happened to be in town for the Irish Channel St. Patrick's Day Parade, which was fantastic. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Best VRBO in NOLA

We had a great stay at Jenny's place. It's in one of our favorite areas of New Orleans, and the property itself is great. Quiet neighborhood, comfy beds, spacious, and well designed and decorated. Jenny and her family are great hosts and were super accommodating (we were able to check in a bit early!) They are also excellent communicators and we would highly recommend them and their property to anyone looking for a great place to stay in New Orleans. Thanks Jenny, we hope to stay again sometime soon!

Amazing find and perfectly clean

What an awesome place to stay for our family of 4. The guest house is tucked away and basically hidden in a secret garden. You are only a few blocks away from the street car and close to many restaurants. The beds were great, and though we didn't cook, there was a kitchen with everything you need. Jenny was an amazing host and so helpful!!! Will stay here again when we come back to NOLA.

Garden District Cottage

Two senior ladies on a 4-day NOLA getaway. We loved coming ‘home’ to the Cottage, and felt very comfortable and safe on our walk from the streetcar stop. The neighborhood is wonderful. We loved all the extras that were thought of - the facial wipes and cosmetic thingys; and the paper towels and enough toilet paper. Thank you!!! Instructions for entry and the stay were communicated perfectly. We definitely look forward to a return visit. Highly recommended.
