Cabin at the river of the little owls!! 2 bedroom cottage directly on the river.

Must be at least 21 to book reservation. Updates include new custom kitchen with concrete counters and stainless steel appliances, new bathroom with walk in shower and all around general updates. Cozy 2 bedroom home is located directly on the Kokosing river thought to translate from the Algonquin Indians and mean “River of the Little Owls.” The cabin is a short distance to Kenyon College, Apple Valley lake, Ohio Amish country and tons and tons of great parks, hiking trails, bike trails and hunting. Great fishing off of the banks in the back yard. Numerous different wildlife spotted including eagles, hawk, mink and deer. Kayaks and canoe provided for your use. Large deck to enjoy river view, outdoor shower and soaking tub (ready for use when weather cooperates). WiFi and internet based TV on 42" flat screen. We are pet friendly, dogs only. ($50 per stay, maximum 2 dogs).

Everything about the stay was accurately described. Place is cozy and very welcoming. Enjoyed the deck and hot tub. We will definitely be back. Sadly it rained most of the day Saturday, so the deck was slippery. Definitely plan to come back as it was a nice place for R&R. The perfect weekend getaway.

We had a great 13 wedding anniversary getaway!! Such a beautiful home. The land is so private. We are definitely coming back. This is just a couple miles from home. Didn't know it was here or we would have came sooner.

We loved our stay at the property! There is a fair amount of street noise to be aware of which surprised us as the porch with fire pit and Jacuzzi were a treat. The property has all kinds of outdoor activities and LOVED the swing down by the water. So enjoyed our stay. Absolutely recommend and would certainly be back!

Deck and outdoor chairs could use a good cleaning. Not easy to get to the river to use provided kayaks. Well water had a bad odor. Yard is very pretty. Very peaceful other than road traffic. Plenty of room for outdoor activities. Could use updated landscaping in the flower beds. Check in was very easy.

Our apologies the outdoor furniture was not wiped clean, we have had a lot of weather coming through the last month or so; also, well water can put off a smell during barometric pressure differences. For future stays if you visit again, most people take a short drive down the road to put kayaks in and float back to cabin, seems to work best. Agree landscaping has grown a bit due to amount of rain we have had followed by a few days of sun; we plan to thin it out a bit as weather allows. We trust your stay was enjoyable and you were able to overlook some of what is out of our control as owners. ~Al & Sue

Very scenic and quiet. Easy for our 13 year old dog to get around. Great cooking kitchen. River was beautiful.

Very nice property, very clean and hot tub was great. A little too close to the road but got used to the sound of all the traffic. Was surprise we saw no wild life.

The cabin was very cozy and peaceful. The hot tub was very relaxing and the outside set up was gorgeous. Our pup loved the treats that were left for him.

Very nice modern cabin, Love the barn doors, Patio overlooking the River was very serene with hot tub and fire pit. Brought our own 10x10 Canopy for on deck, helped in rainy dewy weather and provided shade. Very peaceful getaway!!

Our host was great and responded very quickly. We greatly appreciated that we were able to check in early. The cabin is comfortable, and the hot tub is great! We were surprised by how close to the road the cabin is.

Loved the location for Kenyon family weekend. Perfect serene cabin in the woods. Great place to get away and recharge. Loved being right on the river and able to hear the critters splashing around. The cabin has everything we needed for the weekend. Would definitely book again.

We were married in 1995 and are from the local area. We currently reside in Apple Valley so this cabin is just a short drive enabling us to make sure that your stay goes without a hitch. While we own several rentals in the area this is our first vacation rental. We often use VRBO when we travel, which we do often. I have been a full time REALTOR with RE/MAX and have been licensed since 1987. Sue manages the books and any other areas that need attention with our many ventures.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

This property came up at the local foreclosure sale and I fell in love with it!, My wife not so much. This was a very big project and there is not 1 square inch of this place that we didn't touch. It was a lot of fun seeing my wife warm up to it. My wife is known to have very particular requirements in any place we stay. Our friends have all told us that once I can get my wife to stay here it is ready for the public; my wife now loves to stay here. Its just a short trip from our home but feels like vacation.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

River, river and river. This cabin is great: really comfortable inside and nice enough for a girls escape, family fun, romanic coupe time, or mens fishing/hunting trip. A super clean river like the Kokosing running through the back yard just makes it! Super large deck, outdoor shower, great access to so much, all adds to the value. The river and newly added hot tub just have a way to ease all of the tensions of the "daily grind".
