Skyline Drive, Shenandoah National Park and the Blue Ridge Mountains are close by, for peaceful hikes, relaxing drives, and spectacular sunsets. Staying a week? Pay for 4 nights, 3 are free!

Wildwood lies at the junction of history and hospitality in the Madison Barbour Historic District, a half-hour drive each to the University of Virginia or Woodberry Forest School. Barboursville Vineyards is ten minutes away.

Great getaway!

We loved our stay here. The owners accommodated our group so nicely. The house is very comfortable and cozy in the winter time. It’s a beautiful place to relax and getaway. We hope to go back some time soon.

Great weekend getaway

Absolutely beautiful home and property! Loved the remote, serene location but easy trip to the city for activities. My party had a wonderful time. The hosts were very easy to contact and helpful.

Beautiful autumn weekend

This quiet and very well decorated farmhouse is in the lovely orange county. We stayed there during the recent steeplechase race. It would be a perfect venue for wedding functions and trips to Vineyard. I highly recommend this property.

Beautiful Property

This was a great house for our family. Plenty of space for everyone, very clean throughout, and had everything we needed. Nice and quiet location. Property is convenient to wineries, Monticello, and Montpelier. Owners were very responsive when we had questions. Would definitely stay here again.

Great escape from city life!

Amazing property! We loved the farmhouse feel and plenty of space for our friends and kids. Virginia was extraordinarily helpful and responsive and put our minds at ease with Covid and cleanliness. All around— great experience; highly recommend!

Engagement weekend

Our family traveled to Virginia to celebrate the surprise engagement of our son. The Wildwood Farm home was absolutely perfect for our 4 generation family of 7, plenty of space and just a beautiful location. The hosts were very accommodating and accessible if we needed anything. We highly recommend Wildwood Farm.

A great break from the city

These owners got it right! Wonderful location, tucked back where you can actually see real stars (and many) while enjoying time with your guests and a camp fire at the same time. House also made it easy for families with kids. Plenty of living and social space. We will definitely return.

Beautiful Home and Property

Wildwood is even better than it looks in the pictures. The house is spacious with tall ceilings. Virginia, Robert, and Stella have anticipated everything a guest may need. We were all very comfortable! The grounds were just as lovely with many flowers in bloom. We stayed for UVA graduation and our only regret is that we didn't have enough time to fully enjoy Wildwood.

Retreat from City Life

Virginia’s property is beautiful — a rustic farmhouse with plenty of room for friends and family. Our group enjoyed the deck and grill — unfortunately (or fortunately) there was no service/connectivity on the property. We had a great day at Barboursville Vineyard up the street!

Spacious and comfortable farmhouse

We had a wonderful stay at Wildwood Farm. The house was spacious, clean, and well appointed with nice linens and plenty of homegoods. We were a group of 4 adults and 6 kids and there was room to spare. The location was ideal, within 30 minutes of all area attractions. If we had a longer stay, we would have definitely enjoyed sitting around and relaxing at property more. The autumn color change was lovely. I would definitely recommend this property for group gatherings.

Weekend getaway with daughters and friends

While Ian brought constant rain throughout the weekend, we really didn’t mind. The home was spacious, comfortable, well-appointed and charming. And the surrounding land was gorgeous, quiet and private. We routinely saw deer running through the fields. We found ourselves primarily gathering in the kitchen and the family room - a separate wing of the home with vaulted ceilings and a large fireplace - just beautiful. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. Really all in all a great experience!

Great Find!

I was searching for a secluded spot to celebrate my partners birthday. Wow, did we luck out. Great house, very secluded on a farm but you don't see the working part of the farm. Pristine and charming large house on BEAUTIFUL land. At night it is pitch black but stars are plenty and amazing. Virginia was super responsive and really nice. I wish we would have arranged to use the fireplace in main living space (1 of 2). Use it if you book in January or February , days are warm. House was plenty warm but fireplace is awesome. We will definitely book again soon. Enjoy!

Would give 10 stars if I could

Beautiful home, expansive property, lovely landscaping and wildlife! We stayed at Wildwood for a long weekend. There were 7 of us; 6 adults and a 9-yo. We were in town for the UVA graduation ceremonies. There was plenty of space for everyone. The large kitchen was perfect for cooking family meals. The drive to Charlottesville was about 25 minutes depending on traffic. The homeowners were welcoming and responsive during the booking process and the stay. There was one minor issue with a drawer that was dealt with quickly. As far as wildlife, we saw deer, groundhogs, hummingbirds and baby birds. We all agreed we would like to come back and spend more time at this lovely home.

Peaceful

The farmhouse and surrounding land was peaceful and gorgeous. We were there for a family wedding in nearby Somerset. We had plenty of room for all the cooks in the kitchen and enjoyed the views from every window and porch! We even saw the northern lights one night!

Beautiful wine country retreat

Beautiful wine country retreat In the Rollinghills of orange county Virginia. We visited steeplechase very convenient location and a lovely property both inside and out. The hosts were very accommodating and responsive. We had no problems during our stay. I would highly recommend this property

wonderful girl’s celebration weekend at Wildwood.

We had a great weekend in a spacious country house in Barboursville. We visited nearby wineries and there were many more things to do if we had the time. We ended up spending more time in Charlottesville, which was about 30 minutes away, but it was a fun windy drive to get there.

Great time in Virginia for a bachelorette

A group of us booked this home for a bachelorette weekend in Virginia. The property is remote, but absolutely gorgeous. We loved the layout of the house, the beautiful views, big kitchen, and big windows. The home was comfortable, clean, and well stocked with basics like towels, toilet paper, etc. The owners were very informative and responsive to our questions. The WiFi was great too as we were worried about cell reception. The area was lovely and we took a great winery tour, had a private chef cook us dinner at the house, and went out to downtown Charlottesville which was only about 30 minutes away. It was a perfect escape and I would love to go back to unwind. Thank you to the whole family!
