Town: Hawkchurch is a village in Devon, England, 3 miles north east of Axminster on the border of Devon and Dorset, and about 6 miles south of Somerset. It is 4 miles north of the tourist and fishing village of Lyme Regis. Hawkchurch has a village shop which is run as a community venture. The village pub, The Old Inn, is a traditional coaching house and a hostelry which has been on the site since 1543. Nearby Axminster, which is one of Devon’s prettiest smaller towns, and has many attractions, including plenty of privately owned shops, a weekly market and excellent old inns, with one dating back 100 years with its own resident ghost! The seaside town of Lyme Regis has much to offer visitors with many craft and antique shops, galleries and cafes. The scenic coastal path offers excellent walking opportunities and spectacular views of the stunning Jurassic coast, whilst the gently shelving sands and sparkling waters of Lyme Bay provide the perfect place in which to relax and unwind.
