Newly renovated standalone cottage guesthouse in trendy Berkeley/Oakland Rockridge. Close to restaurants, coffee houses, Trader Joe & Safeway, UC Berkeley, and BART. New bathroom and bedroom. New furniture and appliances (microwave and refrigerator, washer and dryer) in the common room. Keurig coffee machine provided. A camping stove is available for cooking. Free, time-limited street parking or on-site parking for a small fee. Pets are welcome ($16/stay).

Perfect accommodation for a single traveler or a couple, though a large sofa/futon is available for a third person.

Very good location as described. There is a musty smell that is very unpleasant when the windows are closed. I would have liked curtains in addition to blinds, it was very bright when security lights came on at night and in the morning. Good communication and owner was very responsive.

Great stay in Rockridge

Happy to stay, excellent location, clean place and very good communication with host. Had a couple of minor suggestions for improvement for future guests which were received well. Would easily to choose to stay again when in the area.

This cottage was clean, comfortable, and roomy enough for 2-3 people, an ideal spot if you're visiting your child at UC Berkeley, with fantastic proximity to campus.We stayed during move-in week for our daughter, which meant bringing a van. The only minor downside was the driveway parking, which is a bit tight. There was already another car parked there, so we had to fit our van in next to it. It took a little careful maneuvering, but it was manageable. Just worth knowing in advance if you're bringing a larger vehicle.One small hiccup: a towel bar in the bathroom came loose and fell off during our stay. It wasn't an issue since there was another towel bar and hooks available. We let Chris know, and he arranged for a handyman to fix it the next day. The handyman ended up being busy, so the fix was rescheduled. Since we checked out early that morning before the scheduled fix, we assume it was taken care of for the next guests.Overall, we had a great stay and would happily book again for another Berkeley visit.

This was the perfect location for visiting our friends, walking to great restaurants and shops, and getting to public transit. The cottage was cozy and quiet, tucked back from the street, with a beautiful garden outside the windows. The bed was comfortable and the place had all the necessities for our stay. Grateful to the host for their detailed communication!

The property was just as advertised: very clean, comfortable, quiet, and located just a half a block from College Ave and Rockridge with great coffee, a wonderful small market, a great bakery, and nice restaurants. I highly recommend it. Chris was a perfect host; responsive and helpful. .

Convenient, safe & quiet

Chris' cottage is a quiet little spot in a busy, interesting walkable area. The cottage has everything you need and Chris is very responsive. A nice little gem in the heart of Rockridge!

Lovely stay and accommodating host

My one-night stay at this cottage was perfect. The space was super clean, the bed was comfy, and Chris was very accommodating to me and my service animal. Location is amazing. I felt safe arriving later in the evening. Walking distance to great coffee shops and BART and pretty central to hip neighborhoods and restaurants in Oakland. Would definitely stay here again!

Easy check in, would be helpful to have photos of the entry so that you know you're in the correct spot. Place was decently clean. Neighborhood was nice! Felt very safe. Had everything as listed. Bed was comfortable, hot water worked. Owner handled a minor issue with wifi promptly.

Quiet, Safe, Efficient

This was a clean, quiet, and safe space for us to cocoon in after fast visits with friends and family. The space is small, but entirely adequate and well-appointed. We'll definitely be back.

Rockridge Gem

The perfect place for a couple. Just around the corner from 4 coffee houses, groceries, restaurants, boutiques. Lots of room to stretch out, super comfy bed, good shower, well supplied with everything we needed. Hope to return.

Great, clean, relaxing place

The cottage was cozy and quiet, tucked behind the main house. Everything needed was there. It is in walking distance to restaurants and shops, surrounded by a quaint neighborhood. It is close to a BART station. And Chris was a great host.

Nice cottage in an interesting area of Oakland

This is a cottage behind an apartment building that was very quiet, but close to shopping and trendy stores. It was comfortable and clean and just right for a visit to my son who lives in the same area. Thank you, Chris!
