Windy Hill Cottage is located in Upton Maine, 3 miles from the New Hampshire border on Route 26, between Bethel, Maine and Errol, New Hampshire. High up on the hill, you have a view of Umbagog Lake and the surrounding mountains. Abundant wildlife and magnificent natural surroundings make this the perfect location for all of your outdoor adventures.

Short Week in Upton

We are long time visitors to Upton, so no surprises with the region, but first time staying at the Windy Hill Cottage, and we absolutely loved it! The accommodations were very nice, no fuss, everything worked great with plenty of flexibility for our little family. We had a great time and will absolutely be recommending this to friends and family. Thank you!

Fall foliage

Not only was the property perfect but the scenery around us was spectacular! We couldn’t have picked a better week. We kept busy all week. Loved coming back at the end of the day to such a nice place.

Great property and manager

Wonderful cabin! Great location. Everything we needed was there . Manager was always helpful and responsive to any questions we had. Would stay there again!

Windy Hill

The location was perfect for us. We would stay here again.

This cottage suited 2 older adults well. The cottage is clean, well supplied, and organized. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, watching the birds. Though it was a hot week, the wind kept us cool enough, with an air conditioner in the bedroom for sleeping. Having a washer/dryer was a plus. The owner was helpful and available by phone or email when needed.

Perfect summer getaway

Beautiful home and views of Upton and Grafton Notch/Lake Umbagog areas. Spent each day hiking trails, looking for wildlife and relaxing in the amazing and comfortable home. Even we're able to spot a moose and her calf on the last night as we cruised up and down 26. Thank you for allowing us to renergize ourselves for the next school year in your beautiful home. Fantastic Cottage!

Fantastic vacation at Patti's cottage! We loved the layout inside especially the wildlife decor. The porch was great as we watched the most beautiful lightning display we have ever seen from miles away. We rode the many ATV trails in Errol and surrounding towns only nine miles away. Kayaked Umbagog, and Richardson lake up in the Rangely area which by the way had close to a dozen Loons calling back and forth and we had front row seats to one of the greatest wildlife sounds you will ever here. We traveled many miles in search of wildlife and ended up seeing three moose ten deer and a fox and many turkeys. We love staying there so much we are going back Labor day week.

Wonderful Stay!

What a great time we had at Patti's cottage! The cottage is very well appointed, we couldn't have asked for anything more! If you are looking to stay in the area I highly recommend Windy Hill Cottage and Patti.

Awesome Cottage

In mid July my husband & I spent a most enjoyable week at this beautiful, fully equipped, most comfortable cottage. My husband fished every morn and was so pleased that the boat ramp to Umbagog is less than 3 miles from the cottage. While he fished, I sat on the porch soaking up the morning sun while I read and had my coffee. We were close to hiking and fishing and exploring new places and we took advantage of it all. The owner was more than accomodating and assured us that she was only a phone call away...although it was not necessary to be in touch because the cottage had EVERYTHING we needed. We definitely will be returning.

Steve has been coming up to Maine for 50 years - We found this cottage on a quick trip in 2006 and fell in love with the small town and proximity to all of the activities we enjoy.
Hiking, snowmobiling and cross country skiing from the back door! Fishing and boating within 2 miles and downhill skiing 30 minutes away.
