This place is great to get away from it all! It is secluded so that you feel you are out by yourself but close enough to be able to get to town. It even has its own walking trail!

Outstanding property! House was exceptionally clean and well stocked with anything you could need. Amazing views from the hilltop house. Great patios for relaxing and enjoying the view. Walking trail on property from end of driveway was great. Communication with homeowner was easy and he was quick to respond. Great home base for exploring the area. We will be back!

The location is fantastic and the view is amazing. The host was very welcoming and we couldn’t have had a better experience. Really enjoyed our time staying here and will be glad to book again in the future.

Great stay at a great property

Great property, house was very nice (and very clean!), furniture and other accommodations were great. Great views from the den -- and even better from the patio.The king-sized bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable.

Great house in a beautiful setting!

The house had a beautiful view of the mountains! We enjoyed the hiking trail on the property and there was plenty of room for the 5 of us to relax in the evenings after full days of hiking and exploring the area. Great comminication with Matt made the stay easy!

The house was perfect for our group. It was clean and comfortable. The views were amazing! The house was nicely furnished and well decorated with beautiful photographs. The host was very helpful and quick to respond to my questions or comments. We are already talking about returning next year.

Matt had great communication. All information is provided in a binder and are easy to follow. The home itself is absolutely phenomenal with great views of the mountains.

This was the most beautiful home in a perfect location! The patio and the view outside are magnificent, combine that with a beautiful home and you have the perfect get away. We will be back!

Amazing Mountain View

Stay was wonderful this property was very comfortable and had everything we needed.If you are looking for posh, this isn’t for you! This is get away from it all and relax! Watch the birds watch the clouds move over the mountains! Wonderful just what we were looking for!

Cozy cabin

The property was very nice and private, but not too far from the things we wanted to do. There was a pack n play there for the baby so that was nice. It was spacious enough for kids to play and all 6 of us to sleep comfortably. The owner was very responsive and check in/check out was very easy.

Perfect Wet Mountain Location

You will not find a better setting to spend your time in Colorado. This is without a doubt one of the hidden gems in the Westcliffe area. Beautiful home, spacious with all the accommodations anyone’s could want. The view is breathtaking and alone a reason to stay.

Midnight views from the hill are breath taking, Quiet property, well cared for home. Fully ready for stay as soon as we arrived. Super communication from Matt. Will stay again if available

East of Westcliffe

This is simply a lovely home and location. The house is wonderful and the views spectacular. The area is rich with all sorts of interesting things and places, yet the house is isolated and quiet. The area is a dark-sky location and the patio is perfect for marveling at God's creative handiwork. I will be back--yesterday if I could.

A dream come true!!!!

FANTASTIC!!! The view was picture perfect!! Incredible!! The house was perfect for our family! Plenty of room and so open so we could all visit while making meals. Beds were very very comfortable! Towels smelled amazing! The house was very clean and equipped with plenty of kitchen items etc... OUTSTANDING!! We will be back!!!!!

Very nice place to stay! Great panoramic mountain view!

Spring Break trip. My husband & I took our 21 yr. old son & my 86 yr. old mom with us. Rode the Royal Gorge Train in Canon City altogether. Next day we went hiking to the Marion Mines that my 21 year old son found by reading the “Southern Front Range Trail Guide” that was at the VRBO! My mother was able to stay behind at the house with a beautiful view to look at! Had a great time! Thanks so much!

Perfect quiet get away

Matt is a great host, very communicative and sent perfect directions on how to get to the house. The views from the house are the best! We watched the sunset every single evening. Great location - quiet and tucked away in a valley that is close to hiking, off roading, and Bishop Castle. The bed was super comfortable and we have already talked about coming back to work remotely. The hiking trail on property was great - easy to navigate and showed off the property well. We saw SO much wildlife and loved the hummingbirds and chipmunks especially. We bought extra birdseed to be able to keep feeding them! Our favorite part was the night sky - seeing the Milky Way, a lightening storm in the distance, and air glow phenomenon was incredible.

Perfect for our 3-day Thanksgiving getaway

We have family nearby who host Thanksgiving, but don’t have enough room for all guests so we needed a place of our own that also had a kitchen to prep our contributions to the big meal. This mountain house was perfect! It was comfortable and the nice size galley kitchen was great for two people to prep and cook easily without infringing on the other’s territory. We really enjoyed the large living room with plenty of space to spread out. The most wonderful part was the beautiful view out over the valley toward the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Snow came in on Thursday night and we spent a wonderful Friday enjoying the mountain views. Matt is a great host. We had a couple of questions during our stay and never waited more than about 15 minutes for his response. While there, a big snowstorm was forecast and we almost left early. But Matt’s quick response and info about when and how the roads to the cabin are plowed encouraged to stay and Friday was a beautiful, cozy day spent watching the snowfall and enjoying the day. We plan on being back soon.

Roomy Property with Great Views of Sangre de Cristo Mountains

My family and I stayed for 3 nights in this property located about 15 miles drive from Westcliffe/Silver Cliff, Colorado. The house has ample room for a family of 6-8. It is situated overlooking a scenic valley with fantastic views of the beautiful Sangre de Cristo mountains to the west. There is a large family room/dining room. The laundry features a large washer and drier that could also serve a family of 6-8. The bedrooms contain individually heaters on separate thermostats. Because the property is at about 9,000' elevation, we found it necessary to use the heaters during our stay during the third week in June, especially during the evening. The location is peaceful and somewhat secluded. The last 5 miles of the drive is on an unpaved, but well-maintained road. There is a grocery store and there are a few restaurants in Westcliffe, but plan for about a 30-40 minute drive to reach town. Bishop's Castle, a local landmark, is about a 45 minute drive away. Bishop's Castle is a Harry Potter-like castle constructed of local stone, wrought iron, and wood. I would highly recommend visiting Bishop's Castle, particularly if you have children. The bottom line is that this is a spacious and comfortable property with a commanding view of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range.

Beautiful property

The house was so comfortable and homey. We were very comfortable and there were many things to see in the area. It was very quiet and peaceful with beautiful views. Matt was very quick in answering our questions. We would definitely recommend Matt’s home to anyone looking for a peaceful place to stay.

Paradise in the Sangres

Five stars is not enough for this property and host. Matt is an great host, communication was clear and thorough and he also gave us some tips on places to hike nearby. The house is clean and comfortable and filled with everything we needed to have a great week's vacation. And to top it off the view and surroundings are awesome. We will definitely be going back to the Mountain House.
