Historic Cottage in Spring Green, Wisconsin

A meticulously refurbished cottage built in 1892 for Frank Lloyd Wright's eldest Aunt, Margaret Lloyd-Jones. With two bedrooms, a sitting room and a full bathroom upstairs, full kitchen, living room, and a half bath downstairs, the house can sleep up to eight people.
The house stands in sight of Hillside School, Romeo and Juliet, and Tan-y-deri, just south of the Wisconsin River in Spring Green, Wisconsin. This location provides easy access to Taliesin, and the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center, American Players Theater, two State Parks, and the many activities in the town of Spring Green.

We enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed the fireplace and how close it was to all the surrounding attractions such as house on the hill. When we first arrived the pass code to the door wasn't working. We notified the host and he quickly fixed the issue. The house felt like home and was very clean.

Absolutely loved staying here! The fireplace was amazing considering our trip fell on a very chilly weekend. The host, Jeff was also very responsive.

Wonderful stay! Right in the middle of the action for the All Wright event going on at Taliesin. Host communication was very friendly and helpful. Aunt Margaret’s House was the perfect retreat for my All Wright weekend!

Great place to stay! Very clean and had everything we needed. No TV meant more bonding time! Close to Spring Green, Taliesin, House on the Rock, Governor Dodge State Park, and less than an hour from Devils Lake. Would definitely stay again!! Thanks!!

Perfect location for Spring Green Sights

This home is a wonderful place to stay if you are going to Taliesin or American Players Theater. Spring Green is a charming community. We had a great weekend visiting. Would stay again.

A Gem in Spring Green!

Aunt Margaret’s house is a wonderful stay just outside of town near Taliesin. It is exactly as listed.It’s well appointed and comfortable.

Very comfortable and has interesting history

Lovely property with historical connection to Frank Lloyd Wright family. Comfortable and well equipped with pleasant ambiance. Lots of warm wood and large windows. Enjoyed our stay very much.

Great spot for visiting Spring Green

This is a historic house with great access to APT (<10 minutes away), Canoeing on the Wisconsin River (10 minutes away), and of course Taliesen which is opposite the house.

Spring Green revisited

It was an ideal place for a brief stay in the area. It was clean,quite comfortable and an ideal location to explore the area.The only downside to the property, for us, was the traffic noise.

Glad you liked the house. The extra-thick insulation helped cut the noise, but can't handle everything. I hope to have new shrubs and trees to help cut the noise even more in the near future.

Perfect hideaway from the rest of the world.

Beautiful property and very clean. Just a quick drive to local towns and events. Everything is thought of for you so just relax and enjoy the countryside. We will book again when we come back to Spring Green.

Super responsive

This was a very comfortable cottage that suited our needs for a weekend in Spring Green to a T. Our host, Jeff, was patient and helpful with us as first-time vrbo customers and was very accessible when our keycode did not work. One phone call and we were in. Lovely place to relax in.

APT weekend

This house is ideally located for enjoying activities in Spring Green and beyond. We had a comfortable stay and Jeff has the check in set up very simply. Immaculately clean.

Views of Taliesin

Cute cottage. More than enough space. Updated inside. Weather was nice so we sat in the large backyard for sunset.

Great little cabin in the woods

Aunt Margaret’s was a great place to feel away from the hustle and bustle but still close to all of the local activities. It was comfortable for four adults. If you’re a light sleeper, you’ll hear all of the creaks that come with a home with history. Jeff was fantastic with communication, and I’d highly recommend a stay when in town!
