Upon arrival guests are met to answer any questions and describe to guests the parameters of the property. The drive in front of the property is a clear indicator of where one property ends and another begins. Guests are allowed the use of all beach connected to the property but asked to access the beach thru the area closest to the villa. The trek to the beach is the same distance from any house on the property, including the owner’s house. We did have an issue with the guests young children feeding pears that were not ripe to our pony. The adults were asked that they not allow the children to travel across the property, unsupervised, to the gated area where the pony is after children were discovered there initially upon arrival. There are missing tiles in the shower, however we placed a mat over the tiles and informed the guests that they were there rather than cancelling the guests registration to allow time to fix the tiles. We do not list internet as an amenity that we provide due to the difficulty we have had securing a dependable internet connection in our area. We had a new service installed two weeks prior to the guests arrival, however we later discovered that the company did not hook it up correctly. As to the poor phone reception mentioned, the owners have no control over which provider guests utilize and no way to improve the reception of cellular providers at the villa. The flooring in the villa is marble in the great room and master bedroom and tile in the bathrooms and kitchen. The hallway and bedrooms have carpet in them which is carpet that you would find in a doctors office and not plush carpet due to it being a rental and the amount of sand that is trekked in because the villa is at the lake. We were not made aware of spider webs by the guests nor any other guests that stayed before or after these guests but will make every effort to ensure that it is not an issue. As to the doors that stick, again this is not something that has been mentioned and I was unable to figure out which doors specifically these guests were referring to. There is a key to the side door that was still where we indicated to the guests that it would be but the code to the front door wasn’t working. We have resolved that issue.

We only have two bathrooms listed on the site and guests are aware of this when booking. The traveler is correct in stating that we indicated in October that we expected the bathrooms to be completed in about a month. The traveler did not inquire about the bathrooms being completed at any other time before her stay and the site had not been updated to include four bathrooms. We did indicate the delay had to do with unexpected 5 bypass open heart surgery in November and lack of contractors showing up or completing what they were hired to do. We explained all these things at check in. The construction area is clearly marked as an area not to enter due it being under construction. There are three other homes on the property but none of the things mentioned by the reviewer on the villa property lawn. We have had multiple groups stay with 20+ people and great reviews. I would hope that travelers who view this review will also read the other reviews.

We are so happy that you loved the view and the living room which is great for large groups. I do a walkthrough of the property the day the guests arrive and after the guests leave. The walkthrough prior to the arrival is completed after the cleaning service has cleaned which for your stay was completed the day before your stay. The bathrooms and the kitchen were clean to the standards as they have been each time when I have completed the walkthrough prior to the arrival of guests. There are extra towels and blankets in the laundry room in the shelf as well as laundry detergent and fabric softener so that guests can wash towels as needed. We place towels for each guest in the bathrooms prior to arrival. Keys are something that we frequently have to replace due to them not being left when a guest leaves. I did take a key when the guest indicated she could not locate one. Eufaula Lake is regulated by the Army Corp of Engineers and has shoreline management guidelines. We are not allowed to mow or alter the vegetation that is on Corp property which is marked by Corp markers and is between our property and the beach. We have been able to mow within 45 feet of the beach in the past, however the Corp pulled permits for many properties which has been frustrating for many property owners all over the lake. The beach can be accessed from the villa at approximately 50 feet. (This will depend on the lake level which is currently not effecting our beach.) We know this is frustrating for guests and for the other families that live on the property but it is not something that we can control. It is a short distance through grass to get to the beach. There have been some changes to the shoreline management guidelines within the last few weeks so we are expecting we will be able to mow a path within the near future.
