Beautiful 1800 square foot lodge located on the historic bayou La Loutre. Just step away from the lodge on bayou La Loutre is our dock facility that has a cleaning station and dock space to park your boats. The lodge was established in 2018, it has four bedrooms and 3 full baths and will accommodate 10 people. Spacious kitchen over looking living room with ajoing game room. Stunning view overlooking the beautiful south Louisiana marsh outside the back deck! The lodge has all the accommodations and amenities for cooking and your overnight stay. Just bring your food and drinks and enjoy a relaxing stay on the bayou!

Our boat hoist are not included in the rental, these hoist are all occupied. We do have room for you to tie your boat up to the side of the dock if you would like to keep your boat in the water over night.

Best in Hopedale

Our group stays at the Big O lodge every year for our fishing trip. The property has everything you could need and the owner is great to work with. Highly recommended the Big O if you’re looking to stay in Hopedale.

3rd or 4th Stay!

We had an amazing stay at this house in Hopedale, LA! The property was spotless, well-equipped, and perfectly located for fishing and relaxing. The hosts were friendly and responsive, making our trip seamless. We can’t wait to come back!

Awesome Place

The Big O is great. It’s modern and has an updated interior. There is a ton of room for a large group. The place is well outfitted with everything you need to cook for your stay. I’m looking forward to booking again with some buddies for another red fish trip.

Fishing trip

Big O lodge was great! We had a blast catching fish and hanging out on the bayou. The lodge is clean and has all of the amenities. We plan to return soon!

Hit a bad time for fishing due to the low, low tides. Best day was when we had Britt as our Charter guide.

Great lodge

Clean, plenty of fans and good AC. Kitchen was huge and made for easy cooking. Friendly host that was readily accessible. Definitely coming back next year. Thanks Britt.

The lodge was exactly as described. It is very spacious and clean.

Everything was great. Only complaint would be that since the lodge is so high up off the ground, you can feel the motion inside when it’s windy, so people with motion sickness, take some Dramamine or a scopolamine patch.

Trip to Big O

Nice place to stay, You may need to bring some covers in the winter. Only the owner can adjust the thermostat and it gets cold at night. The house is very nice and clean. the lower deck is a nice place to hang out but the grill was too dirty to use so we had to cook inside.

Basically a very good place if you are fishing in Hopedale.

Some things that good be better: 1. Give the correct address and put a sign on the property with "Big O Lodge". 2. Put top sheets on beds. 3. shorten stools around kitchen island (the one under the desk is the right height. 4. Make the water a little bit hotter. 5. Give better wifi instructions. 6. Provide TV instructions. 7. Invest in some decents pots and pans.
