Fifteen steps to the beach --- 15 minutes to walk to downtown Traverse City!

Ours is a simple, SMALL beach house, located on the grounds of our family home (which means that we share the beach). West Grand Traverse Bay is twenty steps away from the front door - - and downtown Traverse City is a 15 minute walk down the beach -- or Front Street.

We rent it from Sunday-Sunday from June through September ($2500 per week).

Between October and May, we rent it by the month ($2000/month). It is just become available for 15 Sept 2025 - 30 May 2026.

We must limit the number of residents because of the limitations of the plumbing. Parties of more than 4 will need prior approval and perhaps a damage deposit and/or an increase in the rental fee.

We ask for at least 50% of the fee in advance. The balance is due on check-in. Check in is at 2 p.m. on Sundays. Check out is at 10 a.m. on Sundays.

The sunsets are out of this world - - and sunrises are pretty spectacular, too!

We are happy to have pets (an extra charge of $500 is needed) - - and it is paradise for children of all ages!

Walking distance to town and a private beach, this place is a gem. It's everything you want in a northern Michigan rental - an open, bright house, great views, very safe, and lovely hosts.

John and Terrie are incredible hosts. We have been coming to this charming lake house for years and are never disappointed. Wonderful yard, great beach, and close to everything. The house is just adorable, and our pup loves swimming in the lake. John and Terrie are always responsive and just a delightful couple.

We absolutely loved our stay! We’ve stayed here several times before and it never disappoints. Our pup loved swimming in the beautiful water. We loved the proximity to so many fun things to do. We already booked for next year!

Perfect setting

Beautiful location exactly as described. Close to so many fun activities and also great for relaxation. Very easy walk to many restaurants Hosts Terri and John friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this for a getaway. We absolutely loved our stay.

Very comfortable cottage on the water and walking distance to nice restaurants and shopping.

We really liked being able to walk to downtown Traverse City. The cottage is peaceful and private. We hope to return again.

Amazing Retreat

This was our second time staying at the beach house and for excellent reason. The peace and quiet of the beach house, the proximity to downtown Traverse City, and the overwhelming hospitality, especially being dog-friendly! We look forward to another future stay!

What a great location!!

We brought our dog with us and he had a blast playing on the beach and swimming in the lake! You can’t beat the location either. It’s quiet but right in town! Hopefully we will be back next year!

Amazing view!

My husband and I stayed with our dog for a week and we all loved our time there. The cottage is cute and had everything we needed, the hosts are so nice, and the view is outstanding. The location is close to restaurants, bakeries, etc. We highly recommend this rental!

Always amazing stay

This gem of a cottage is tidy and delivers the ideal location with a beautiful beach. Terri and John are very helpful, responsive and loaned my friend a wonderful bike for several days. I have stayed at this property multiple times over the years and will continue to do so.

We loved this place, and can’t wait to return. The house, was perfect size, for my husband and I. It was well equipped, and had a wide open feel, with all the large windows. The views, were beautiful in all directions. It had lush green well maintained property, and of course, a lake view. The few steps to the perfect sand beach, to swim, and just relax, made it very hard to leave!!

Beach Bliss

The view is spectacular. Cottage is cozy & charming. The location is perfect-private while a short walk or bike ride to downtown. I have been staying at this cottage for many years. It is well appointed and lovely.

Beautiful even in the Fall!

So relaxing. Awesome view of the water. Very clean and comfortable. Terri and John were very welcoming and friendly. Hope to go back soon!

Getaway

A fun, relaxing, lake getaway. The cottage was a perfect size for our family of 5 (one infant). The water is just steps away. John and Terri are great hosts!

Our Excellent TC Getaway

Sunsets… Sunrises… the lulling sound of splashing evening waves…a private sandy beach…. Bundled with gracious hosts, Terrie and John, and a dog named “Rex”….our vacation couldn’t have been better! Now the cottage is older and small but we found it charming and well stocked with everything you need. The location is perfect… We will be back!

Week in Traverse City

The property is beautiful and so close to all of the wonders that Traverse City holds - TART trails, downtown, wineries, breweries, parks, etc. John and Terrie were excellent hosts, providing us with recommendations of a wide variety of restaurants and activities. Wonderful week!

Perfect location

This is a great location right on the water and near downtown. We easily rode our bikes to everything. Terrie and John were wonderful hosts. John even gave us a stand up paddle board lesson! We would definitely stay in the cottage again.

Digital Nomad with a gorgeous view

The hosts, John and Terrie were fabulous, so kind, generous, knowledgeable about the area and very welcoming and always provided lots of privacy. The guest house was perfect with beautiful sunset views, easy walk to downtown Traverse City, the location couldn't be any better and right by the Blue Goat wine market for added festivities. Highly recommend 10/10!!

Great Experience

We had a wonderful experience at the Cottage! The setting is ideal, and the spot on the bay is picturesque. Location to downtown was very nice, and a day trip to Mackinac Island and one to Sleeping Bear Dunes was an easy drive from the cottage. Communication and hospitality from our hosts was very good, and much appreciated, as we had changes to our travel plans due to Covid. We can't wait to go back.
