Single family cottage within easy walking distance to Short Sands Beach and downtown York Beach. The cottage has hard wood flooring throughout, central air conditioning, gas fireplace w/d, d/w, garbage disposal, wifi, half bath on first floor, master bedroom on first floor with private deck/full bath, 2 bedrooms on second floor (full & two twins in each) with Shower bathroom. Kitchen is fully equipped. Screened in Porch off kitchen area. Parking for four vehicles. Solo Fire Pit, with seating for 10. Sleeps 10 people. Outdoor shower and patio with picnic table seating 8. Perfect for large families and small children. Summer 2025 minimum stay 3 nights. No pets. Bedroom & Bath linens provided. Beautiful property

Lovely spot and enjoyed watching the ducks and geese at the pond. If the weather had been better we would have really enjoyed the fire pit area. It’s a really nice neighborhood and everything is a short drive. The beds are comfy and the kitchen was very well equipped. Love the fireplace and open concept living area! Thank you for a great stay!

The place feels like home, comfortable, clean, top quality appliances and everything. Great location, close to so many fun things, especially the zoo! I can't recommend this property highly enough.

Perfect in every way!

Beautiful house! We’ve rented houses in York for a few years, but this house was perfect - it met all our needs even as far as location (a short walk/bike to Long Sands and an even shorter walk/bike to Short Sands). The owner supplied so many things we usually have to buy too. She was great and easy to communicate with - we will be back!

Wonderful Vacation!

This house was perfect for myself, my husband, both our daughters and their husbands, and our four grandchildren ranging from 2 years old to 8 years old. The location was wonderful -- easy walking distance to the beach and some stores. The house was super clean with plenty of paper goods. It also had a lovely backyard. We would enjoy returning here for another vacation.

Definitely enjoyed our stay!

Our whole family loved this house. Joanne was a fantastic host and we enjoyed talking with her. She had the house fully stocked with everything we could have needed from pots and pans to paper goods and even laundry detergent. The space was immaculate and we loved the screened-in porch. It was a short walk to short sands (maybe 5-7 minutes). Great place for families. I would highly recommend a stay here!

Perfect family get away

The property is beautiful, the location very nice. The owner was very helpful, there was a lot of room for our extended family. The only request I would have is, to provide sheets, towels and basic items like soap.Otherwise, it was wonderful! Heidi

York Family Vaca

The house was great! It was super clean and really well stocked with everything that we could need. The walk to Short Sands was really easy and quick (about 10 min). The owner was super responsive and available as needed. The house had plenty of space and multiple seating areas for our family. We loved the screened in porch. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful and comfortable

We had a wonderful time here. The home has all of the amenities that you could possibly need and is immaculate. The upstairs bedrooms are large (each with a double and two twins) and the downstairs bedroom has a large walkin closet, bathroom, and private deck. The larger screened in porch allows for a nice evening out. The backyard is large with a fun firepit and Joann has lots of lawn games that you can use if you choose to. There is a patio area with a gas grill and large picnic table, perfect for a lobster feed (you can get the lobsters just up the road all cooked and Joann has all of the implements needed to eat them!) The home is only about a 5-10 minute walk to Short Sands Beach and the small commercial district with fun gift shops, snack places, etc. I would definitely recommend this home!

Priceless family memories!!!

Joanne made us feel welcome and at home, she has a lovely abode! We had the honors of being the first to fire her new Solo Stove Yukon and relax in the Adirondack Chairs mesmerized by the beautiful flames while toasting marshmallows for S’mores. The location of her home is beautiful, quiet, safe for little ones as it’s on a dead end road, and convenient as we were 3-5 minutes from the village of York Beach, Long & Short Sands beaches, the zoo, restaurants, shopping…. Joanne had wonderful suggestions for all that we wanted to do and explore. Our vacation was fun, relaxing and absolutely amazing and we look forward to our next visit!!!

Family Summer Long Weekend

Our family takes a summer long weekend together each year, my grown children and their children, this year my best friend from high s hook, from Texas, joined us. The location at the end of a culdesac was perfect. Within walking distance of the beach, zoo, and activities. If you have small children and walking I would suggest bringing a wagon, stroller, etc. the property has a wagon, best utilized for transporting supplies, beach toys etc. not mentioned in the listing is a brand new outdoor shower. PERFECT. When you spend a day at the beach with the grand babies in sand, it’s amazing how much sand you bring back. The property is gorgeous, well stocked, clean. Highlights the balcony and s reined in porch for young children to play safely. We plan on returning.

Modern and spacious location - Close to everything!

My family stays at York Beach every year. This rental was a breath of fresh air. Our first reaction when walking in to the house was "WOW!" It's beautiful, spacious, and modern. Joanne is a wonderful host. We noticed a small problem due to a mis-communication in the Home Away app. Joanne showed up in just a few minutes and helped us fix it. GREAT CUSTOMER CARE! The location is very convenient. You feel like you in the woods, secluded from everything. However, you're actually walking distance to Short Sands. Every morning, I woke up and walked down to get coffee. Best of both worlds. One last note. Too many times, I feel that the beds at these rental homes are the old bed from the owners home. Worn out and super uncomfortable. This was the exact opposite experience. Every mattress was a brand new memory foam model. I slept better than I have in any rental. I will recommend this rental to friends and colleagues and I plan to rent this house again next year.

Fantastic week

We had the best week in York. Joann is a wonderful host and very knowledgeable of the area. The house was clean and fully stocked with everything you need and all the amenities of home. Central A/C and washer and dryer were welcomed. The backyard is gorgeous and the quiet street great for kids. So much to do in the area and we hope to return next summer! Thank you Joann!

Great summer vacation

We really enjoyed our week at York staying on this property. The house is spacious, clean, updated and provided our group of 6 with everything we needed. Joanne was super welcoming and accommodating throughout the week, always quick with a response when needed (.......which was infrequent). The one downside for our group was the walk to the beach/town. It's less than a 15 minute walk - very manageable - but it included time spent on busy roads, including a stretch w/out sidewalks and a busy intersection w/out a crosswalk and/or lights. Certainly no fault of the property owner, but learning of this walk changed our plans to allow our teen, tween and their friends to walk to/from the house alone and have some independence. Outside of that, the week was perfect and I'd recommend this house to groups of all ages.

Do yourself a favor and book this place!

We rented this property for a 15-night stay and it wildly exceeded our expectations. First, the photos don't do it justice: it's a brand-new space, immaculately kept. I thought it might be kitschy with all the red in the photos, but it was well-decorated and everything was fresh and clean. Two sitting porches -- one off the main (king) bedroom on the first floor, and another screened-in space where we spent a ton of time right off of the primary living area. I saw some critiques of the size of the living room, but for part of our trip there were 9 people staying there and it was more than adequate -- kids hung out in the HUGE bedrooms upstairs quite a bit, and/or the adults stayed on the screen porch. Joanne (the host) provides plenty of supplies (detergent, paper towels, etc.), a wagon for the beach, and pretty much every large appliance you could think of. The home is in a great location -- you can walk to downtown York as well as two beaches, and it's a quick car ride to other sights in Maine. Joanne is very friendly and available for questions etc. Highly recommend!
