Located just 7 miles from downtown Auburn and Auburn University in the sleepy historic town of Loachapoka, this house is ideal for families coming to tour the University, sporting events, graduation, or for a simple country getaway. The MilkBarn Guesthouse was originally built in 1940 as a cow milking barn. Fully renovated in 2017 as a guesthouse, it has a full kitchen with all new appliances, heart pine countertops, gorgeous bathroom with a clawfoot tub [please note this tub has a shower hose feature but no walk-in shower] sleeping loft, wifi, and cozy living space with electric fireplace console. Updated on the inside with an old Alabama feel. Decorated with framed show posters and art by local artists. Large, fully fenced-in yard with locking gate. Plenty of parking. We love dogs... ask about our pet policy! Sleeps 6, open floor plan, private, and peaceful. Owner lives on adjacent property with a shared drive. Very peaceful, yet convenient to charming Auburn and less than 5 minutes from University Staion RV Park. Minutes from the Auburn University Vet School.

Attention to Detail and Very Clean!

The Milk Barn is such a great property! It’s a perfect place to get away and unwind. Whales has thought of every way to make her guests feel comfortable and at home. Our boys (Havanese) travel with us everywhere so a space which accommodates them is very important to us. It was perfect-a huge fully fenced-in yard made for a worry-free stay for them as well! We loved the decor and personal touches! Thank you for sharing your guest home!

Relaxing at the Milk Barn

What a great property! We really enjoyed our stay. The host even had suggestions for places to eat. We chose one and it was marvelous. Would stay there again.

Traveling for the holidays

Wow!!! Couldn’t ask for better host! The guest house is really nice, it was warm and inviting from the moment I stepped in. The yard is great for the pups and it’s fenced. After being in the car all day, they were able to run around leash free! I only wish I was staying longer and not just going through. The home is stocked coffee and hot chocolate with nice recommendations through the house. What an incredibly thoughtful and clean host. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! You need to stay just for the experience.

Thanksgiving Stay at Milk Barn

The home was very comfortable for me, my husband, my mother and my adult Daughters! We had to have our first Thanksgiving away from home to see my son play in the Turkey Classic. We were only 15 minutes from Tuskegee University. The cabin came with all the amenities needed for our stay we only bought food. It was cold during our stay but the home had many blankets. We will be back within our family.

Quick AL Trip

My stay was fantastic. Loved it from the start.The Milk Barn is eclectic…. Charming g as can be. My Golden had a blast roaming in the large fenced yard. I fell in love with AL and the Milk Barn. My host was really great answering All my questions. Very accommodating .Wish I could have had more time there.

Definitely For Us

This eclectic property is one of our very favorites having stayed there several times on cross country trips with our dogs. (They love it too for the large fenced yard.) It's not for everyone. There's no dishwasher, disposal, or walk-in shower. But it has character galore, good beds and pillows, a roomy well equipped kitchen and is just very cool. We'll be back!

Perfect

This beautiful and cozy farmhouse was perfect for our little family getaway. The kitchen is big and beautiful and fully stocked including thoughtful touches for guest. The beds and couches are comfortable. Our children absolutely loved the claw foot bathtub, the Wii, the loft and the beautiful yard! Owners we fabulous! 10/10 would recommend.

Eclectic and Cozy

This place was perfect! Plenty of room for the four of us, and our dogs really enjoyed the large fenced yard. It was an easy drive to downtown Auburn.

Rain on the tin roof was a bonus!

We were very comfortable during our stay! We enjoyed being away from the Auburn University gameday crowds but close enough to visit our kids on campus. The host provided everything to make our stay comfortable...coffee, filtered water pitcher, toiletries, nice bedding and thick towels. The wonderful sound of the rain on the tin roof was a bonus!

The most thoughtful host

We stayed at the Milk Barn when our daughter graduated from Auburn. This unique little place is SO Clean & Cozy! My husband & I had Plenty of room and our pups felt right at home. The thoughtfulness of the host is seen in every crook & cranny of this place. It was very warm & welcoming. Definitely 5 stars & have already recommended to others.

Weekend getaway

Came to town to visit our daughter, who is a student at AU. This is a wonderful place to stay, unique and comfy. It was only 10mins away from where she lives. We loved every little detail in this renovated milk barn. Our 2 mini aussies enjoyed the fenced in yard and the openess of indoors so they could keep watch on everything without getting up. Wayles is very attentive and a wonderful host. We will definitely be back.

Great Stay

We had a great quick stay for a friends wedding. Some friends amd I rented this for a one night stay for a wedding nearby. Though it is out in the country, it is very convenient to Auburn and Opelika. The host were very responsive and helpful. The place even had a Wii, cards, and a small puzzle which my friends and I enjoyed in our downtime. The place was super clean and check in and out were a breeze. Our only complaint was the AC had a hard time keeping up heating an open space that large during the warm Alabama summer. We wish we would have had a large fan or something, but didn't want to bother the hosts late at night for a one night stay. We are all from the gulf area anyway so we are used to the heat. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend.

Auburn Gradiation

We stayed here during our daughter’s graduation and thoroughly enjoyed it! The Milk Barn has a rustic charm and the location was very easy to get to the ceremony. Would definitely stay here again!!
