Weekend Retreat

My group and I enjoyed our weekend, it was my first time staying at a resort hotel. The accommodation was great but with one exception. There was no elevator in the building and I had made it known during my reservation that I would have some people coming with me that was physically challenged and I would need a ground level I was told by the Property Manager that I could request one at check in. Even though I arrived early and was allowed to check in early I was told that the only thing left was a 3rd floor. I feel that I should have been told from the beginning that there wasn’t any way to accommodate handicapped people who are unable to walk up the steps. . This presented an issue that could have been avoided. The other issues were minor room.

Location is good, but floor cleaning and interior upgrade needed

The staff were wonderful! The property was spacious. We used the grill to cook burgers and hot dogs. We swam at the pool. We spent the day at Colonial Williamsburg and location was great; however, it could have been newer and cleaner. There were hairs and dirt all over the bathroom floor. It is time for an interior upgrade.

Avoid

The place is outdated and there's mold growing in places. Covid was the least of my worries. We had to clean the entire place ourselves. Dishes were dirty and there was trash from the last occupants. Go somewhere else if you can

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ

This is not a condo - it is a timeshare. Yes, you will be scheduled for a "Welcome Presentation". AND - we also received a persistent phone call at 8:15 on Saturday night while we attempted to put our kids to bed. What you see may not be what you get. They tried checking us in to 2 units on 2 different floors. When we questioned this, we were told it was first come first served. Fortunately we were abel to get side-by-side units as was described on the website. There are limited kitchen products (not even salt and pepper) so you need to bring absolutely everything that you will need during your stay. We took plates out of the cabinet and 2 had food on and had an odor. We had to wash all kitchen items. There was no vacuum cleaner and one very used broom between the 2 units. No cleaning wipes or cleaning products available. There is an activity fee that you pay upon check-in. However, they had no ping pong balls except for one cracked one. Golf clubs and balls were limited and many people were not able to play due to lack of equipment. When I complained about paying a fee and not being able to access the activities that were open, I was told it was due to COVID. If that is true then do not charge me the fee! No refund or consideration was given in this regard. REgardless of these issues and the disrepair of some areas, my family and I had a great Thanksgiving. The floor plan was perfect. I gave this one star in hopes that peopl will read it and save themselves the frustration.
