Pine Hills Resort is a 4,200sq ft home located on over 800 acres. You will enjoy a 3 bedroom + bonus room with king bed and 2 hide-a-beds, fully furnished home, nestled in the pines along the Cheyenne River in the Southern Black Hills. The house has a huge deck, gas grill, and 2-car garage. In addition to a spacious, modern home, we offer a barn and corral for safe keeping of your horses, and over 800 acres to ride on, as well as lots of nearby US Forest Service land, and close proximity to the Mickelson Trail. Easy access to Black Hills destinations, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Sturgis, and Deadwood. Property boasts plenty of wildlife, including turkeys, deer, antelope, fox, and elk. Perfect for trail riding. Ideal for spring and fall turkey hunting, family reunions, work retreats, and Black Hills vacationing.

Annual hunt

Property was is tip top shape. We've used the house for this trip multiple times and haven't been disappointed. Stephanie has always been prompt on communication and keeping us satisfied.

Wouldn’t recommend- Not as expected

We were originally excited about this trip. However we arrived to a wasp nest in the garage followed by new wasps showing up each day even after spraying. The deck is old and deteriorating in places with screws sticking out, which made it unsafe for our service animal to walk on. There was broken glass all throughout the yard. The master bathroom could use a remodel as there is carpet all throughout the bathroom including around the toilet which is extremely unsanitary. The toilets are also mini toilets in both upstairs bathrooms. We ended up leaving early due to the unsafe conditions for ourselves as well as our service animal. We were denied a refund due to the conditions not being deemed bad enough. I was very disappointed with the whole situation and how it was handled by both the host and VRBO. We work hard for our money and spend quite a bit to enjoy a vacation place, and to have all that money go to waste is really sad.

Very nice, remote location

A very nice place to stay. Yes, the driveway is 1-1/2 miles long. Just outside of town, far enough to only hear the occasional train horn. It was very relaxing sitting out on the deck and listening to the wind flow through the pine trees. Well equipped, comfortable place to stay.

Surprise 50th Birthday weekend

I was able to bring in friends and family from around the county and have a comfortable place for everyone to stay. The common area was spacious with plenty of seating for everyone to sit. The kitchen had everything necessary to cook and host our group.

Annual trip

Check in process was easy and streamlined. Property owners we excellent to work with. Friendly easy going people who went above and beyond to make this annual trip perfect. A couple minor things with grill and dishwasher were solved within an hour. Property was clean and well represented on VRBO. This was our 3rd stay there and would recommend to adult groups or even families if you want to escape from the busy everyday life and enjoy peace, quiet, and excellent views and surroundings. A place very hard to find in that area of the high plains.

Weekend getaway

Beautiful property and home! Everything you need is there and communication with Stephanie was extremely fast with any questions. Peaceful area with beautiful views. On top of everything Stephanie also helped us when we had our vehicle breakdown after we checked out and had already left, which she absolutely did not need to do. Genuinely good people are hard to come by, but that's who you are working with when you rent this property and it makes all the difference.

Beautiful Property!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Pine Hills Resort! The home is very spacious and comfortable. It provides everything you could possibly need! The 800 acres is incredibly beautiful! We felt very comfortable letting our dogs roam around the yard, and we enjoyed long walks. The property manager, Stephanie, and the owner of the property went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We highly recommend this property and will definitely be back! Thank you!

Absolutely the best!

This house is my all time favorite. Love staying there. Very relaxing setting. A true vacation home. I do not stay anywhere else when I visit the area. I highly recommend. It has everything you need for cooking home cooked meals. It’s close to town yet far enough away for that peaceful vacation. Stephanie is easy to communicate with and is there for any need that may arise. You will not regret staying here.

Family Vacation

This is a beautiful property and very well maintained. The owners went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed. The only drawback for our particular family was that it was a bit too far away from the attractions of the Black Hills. If you are looking for a quiet place to rest and just hang out this would be it.

Peaceful in the Pines

We enjoyed our Stay at Pine Hills resort very much. The house was very clean and the host very responsive. We enjoyed the large living space/kitchen/bedrooms inside as well as the front and back porches. Having morning coffee on the front porch and viewing the milky way from the back porch were some of favorite memories. We also enjoyed the views from the property and traveling into the Black Hills for day outings such as Hot Springs shops, State Parks and Legion Lake were some of our favorite haunts. We will definitely come again! Thank you Stephanie!

Birders Paradise!

We came to the area to visit the natural scenic areas in the Black Hills and nearby grasslands region plus to go birding every day. We had a great time! The property is central to the areas we wanted to visit, allowing us to observe 140 bird species during the month of June, 2022. We observed 76 species just on the property, which offers a variety of habitats. The hosts were very responsive and thoughtful and the house was wonderful.

Ponderosa Pine Seclusion

The host was very attentive and had everything ready for our stay. We are from the country, so we loved the location of the house in the black hills surrounded by wildlife.

Spring turkey hunt

Third time staying here and it feels like home

This was my third time staying at this beautiful property. It is always clean, quiet, and equipped with everything you need during your vacation. The hosts always inquire to ensure you have everything you need to make your vacation perfect. I couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else when I am in the southern hills. Highly Recommend.

Great Base for Black Hills Travel

Everything at Pine Hills Resort was amazing during our stay. Truly a great house and host. I was initially worried about Edgemont being too far away from the areas we wanted to see in the Black Hills during our stay, but I am so glad we booked Pine Hills. It was so nice to leave the more touristy areas behind and come back to Pine Hills at the end of the day to enjoy the peace and serenity this place offers. Thanks for a wonderful stay Stephanie!

Hike, run, walk or crawl (if you have a horse, saddle up!), just do whatever it takes to explore the vast beauty and the endless mystery of this timeless treasure. If you are looking for quality time to connect or re-connect with family, friends, or just need some "you" time in solitude, the Pine Hills ranch is your Huckleberry. The home and was immaculate, the locals were friendly and accommodating, the experience was priceless. While mother nature may not appeal to all, you narrowed down your getaway search for a reason, go with your instincts, this is "THE" place to go...

Awesome horse back riding property!!

This was an amazing experience. There was a group of 10 of us that wanted to go horseback riding in the Black Hills. After we found this property everything went very smoothly. The house is amazing. Large and roomy with a big kitchen for us to fix meals. Stephanie was so easy to work with and answered all of our questions quickly. When some members of our group had family situations occur that prevented them from coming with us Stephanie immediately processed a partial refund. The hills around the property provided some challenging riding while the ride along the river was very relaxing. Only thing to keep in mind is there are only two corrals so if you have horses that do not get along it could be an issue. However it was not for us. We will definitely be looking into coming back next year with our grandchildren to go riding with them!!
