Horrible experience and awful start to our Italian vacation. We were never able to get into property. Before booking property we communicated with host for early check in. Host agreed so we booked property. Property had great reviews. When we arrived at property (building) nobody was available. We called host and someone picked up but then hung up after 20 seconds. We tried calling back and nobody answered. In the end we had to call VRBO customer service and they tried contacted host with no luck. We ended up waiting outside on the street in the cold for 2 hours with our suitcases. VRBO customer service gave up attempting to contact host (we waited so long normal check in time even passed) and helped us book a hotel. We ended up having to get two hotel rooms as we were 4 adults. Host never contacted us after the fact to apologize or explain what happened. 10 days later we received a message that stated “reservation cancelled Guest_minimum_age”. Unless property had a minimum age of 60 we qualified. Don’t even want to write a review as brings back awful memories.

We had a great time, the apartment is very clean, cozy with comfortable beds. Close to many restaurants and markets! Giulio is very friendly and helped us get into the apartment. We will definitely recommend this place and hope to be back soon!!

A very nice location in Trestevare- close to so many amazing restaurants and all the special places in Trestevare. Plus, you can easily walk to the Ponte Sisto and across into the popular areas of Campo De Fiori and more. Easy to get to bus and tram stops as well. Spacious. Furnishings, kitchen and bath somewhat dated, but then, this is Italy. While the host is very nice, we found that they misrepresented that they had working air conditioning. The main room A/C unit had a hand- written note on it that it was out of order, the main bedroom had one working but barely and stopped working on our 2nd of 3 days. The smaller bedroom with twin beds had a more up to date room unit and worked. They offered one old stand up oscillating fan that we moved from room to room for comfort. We knew we were coming in August so chose upon the host listing working air conditioning in the details. The time to check in was longer than necessary after a long day of travel. Make sure that you have the euros to pay at the time of check in for the tourist tax- 5 per day per person. The elevator is a great bonus albeit it small. There is a park right outside so if windows are open it can be a little noisy.

We had a fantastic 4-night stay at this lovely apartment in Rome Trastevere! The location was absolutely perfect, with countless restaurants, cafés, and gelato spots just steps away. It made exploring the city so easy, and we loved being able to walk to so many attractions.The apartment itself was clean, comfortable, and spacious, with two well-appointed bedrooms that were ideal for our family. Everything was exactly as described, and we felt right at home from the moment we arrived.Host was incredibly friendly and helpful, offering great local recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. It really made a difference having such a warm and responsive person to welcome us.Overall, we highly recommend this apartment for anyone visiting Rome—especially families. We’d happily stay here again!

This is the perfect place to really experience Italy

Walking distance from everything except an airport, but a tax hub close enough. Neighborhood had so many food and shopping options. Literally a farmers market would set up every morning for those fresh ingredients. Every 5 feet a wine bar , coffee, or snacks of some kind. A grocery store next door, I doubt I could find a better place if I tried.

Elegant, well located apartment.

Easy walking to all of the main attractions. The neighbourhood has a great atmosphere with wonderful restaurants.

Appartement très agréable

Appartement agréable, spacieux et bien équipé. Bien chauffé et sécurisé. Pratique car bien placé, petit marché de fruits legumes en bas, commerces, bars et restos du Trastevere à quelques rues. Il faut tolérer les bruits car il y’a des terrasses de bar aux alentours. Cela peut être dérangeant pour s’endormir, surtout les soirs de match ! Le propriétaire nous a très bien accueilli, tres gentil et disponible si besoin. Une consigne pour laisser ses bagages quelques heures le dernier jour, se trouve en face de l’appartement (7e les 4 h). Ca peut rendre service !

Spacious en comfortable stay in heart of trastevere

Mooi, groot en heel compleet appartement in de mooie en gezellige wijk trastevere. Onze host gaf van tevoren duidelijke instructies over de check-in procedure en wachtte ons persoonlijk op bij het appartement. Comfortabele bedden, een zeer uitgebreide inventaris en ruime kamer.Badkamer en keuken waren.netjes en schoon.Op straat was het ‘s avonds levendig, zeker in het weekend was het uitgaanspubliek aanwezig, maar dat kan je verwachten in deze buurt.Restaurants, bars, gezellige pleinen en winkeltjes, alles is op loopafstand.Aanrader!

Feel like a local

Great location with attentive host. Walkable to all the sites. Great cafes, restaurants, grocery stores steps outside the door for everything you need from morning coffee to happy hour spritzes, from porchetta to suppli, pizza or pasta. Square is noisy, so if you need quiet to sleep, this is not the place for you.

Lovely apartment in central location

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment. It is large and very comfortable, and organized in such a way that it really felt lived in. Giulio is a pleasure to meet and seems to have done this for a long time, he certainly has the process down. Communication and check in were very easy, he even met us just as we were getting out of a taxi right in front of the entrance.The apartment is centrally located, with dozens of restaurants in easy walking distance. The terrific market, which opens early, is right outside the windows. And less than a block away are two grocery stores, a wonderful pasticceria, a norceria - you will not go hungry in this area.The pictures and apartment description are accurate, very much how we had hoped. We expect to return on one of our next visits to Rome.

Great apartment, excellent location

The apartment was spacious and exactly as described. The kitchen was well equipped to make a few quick breakfasts and reheat our leftovers from one of the many local restaurants. Plenty of bedding and the beds were super comfortable. The apartment is located about a 5 minute walk from 2 of the different tram stops that take you right to the sites as well as many bus stops. FYI - you can easily pay for the buses and trams with Tap on your credit card or on you apple watch, iPhone.Only issue was that the plaza adjacent to the unit was a bit noisy at night, but from reading review of other places, this is a common problem everywhere. Italians like to be outside sometimes late into the evening. It was mildly annoying, but we were so tired from our exploring and our bellies so full of excellent food and wine, we were still able to fall asleep. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone else.

Nice stay in Trastevere

Convenient location in the heart of Trastevere above a large square with a daily food market. The house was spacious and very clean. Furniture a little dated but functional with comfortable beds. Check-in process was punctual and exhaustive (a little long maybe the overall conversation with the very friendly property manager after a long day of travel). On the negative side, the handle of the window in the main bedroom was broken/missing and we could not close it properly. This was a little inconvenient especially for the noise coming from the square below that as other reviews mentioned is not for the light sleepers as the market setup starts early am and nightlife is on till late. The location with the noise could be a factor to consider in warmer months with open windows and more late night action. This is why we gave it 4 stars. But otherwise a nice play to stay.

Perfect place!

We were very comfortable and felt at home in Dr. Lau’s home. Trastevere is a wonderful lively community and we wished we could stay longer. Everything was in order and Dr. Lau welcomed us personally.

When in Rome

Great arrival, Giulio meet us upon arrival and gave us great information. The location was excellent very close to all site and the area has great restaurants. A bit noisy at night but turning the fan on drowned out any sounds. Would definitely stay there again

Very nice apartment, very loud neighborhood

The apartment is wonderful but the activity on the streets below were very loud well past 1:00 am making sleeping somewhat challenging. Not surprising if you want to in an area with great nightlife.
