FISHERMAN'S COTTAGE IN THE HEART OF OMAHA BEACH - 20 METERS FROM THE SEA.

Charming stay in Port-En-Bessin Huppain, a lively little fishing port in the heart of the landing beaches, between Arromanches and the American cemetery of Colleville sur mer, located 10 km from Bayeux and 30 km from Caen.

You will stay in an old fisherman's house, completely renovated, in a contemporary style but retaining all its old charm with authentic furniture and decorations. Located on the second seafront, close to shops, the fishing port and a small auction.
LE BALUCHON PORTAIS is a warm, comfortable accommodation including:
- A fitted and equipped kitchen,
Oven, microwave, induction, fridge, freezer, coffee maker, SENSEO, .......
- A lounge equipped with armchairs and club sofa, with wood stove, flat screen, unlimited wifi, DVD, stereo, Books available.
- Separate toilet with dryer and washing machine,
- A room with small sea view with double bed (160x200) and bathroom with shower and its old parquet floor, renovated with style.
- A bedroom with a pull-out bed and bathroom with a bathtub.
For your comfort, the household linen is provided (hand towel, tea towel ...). Sheets can be rented. A house background will enhance your meals.

During your stay you can go fishing by foot and by line, hiking (marked circuits), golf, horse riding, paragliding ... and visit many museums.

Lovely town and house for our vacation. Wonderful experience. Watch your head at the top of the living room staircase, but there is a second set of stairs off the kitchen.

Quaint cottage in great location

This is a quaint cottage in a lovely fishing village in the heart of Normandy. Everything is an easy walk nearby; restaurants, pubs, cafes, bakery, shops and a small grocery. There is parking up at the end of the lane from the cottage.While it advertised 2 bathrooms, it is a bit misleading. There is a bath tub in one bedroom and a shower in the other, actually in the room. There is only 1 toilet and it is downstairs. One set of stairs is narrow the other small and winding. Both were shown in the pictures. This may be standard in these very old cottages but was a bit of a challenge for 4 middle agers at night. Just something to consider. There was also a linen option for a charge that was a surprise. I had not experienced that in previous VRBOs in the US. I suspect this may be more common in Europe. The hostess was very responsive to all queries.

Great stay in Normandy

Fantastic location in beautiful village! We absolutely loved the area and it was close to everything we wanted to do. Very peaceful and relaxing. Hosts we great. We would definitely stay here again.

not a farm house cottage

I booked a farm house cottage- the exterior image provided by vrbo was that- not a corner apartment. i was very disappointed- bait and switch. The apartment itself was well equipped, great location, clean.Hard to find as there was no number outside to indicate- had to ask someone in the neighborhood. Let people know the bathroom is downstairs.

La maison est vraiment proche des commerces et du port dans un environnement calme et presque sans voiture. Tjrs une place sur le parking, c’était vraiment parfait ! À refaire !!!

Fisherman's Cottage

We stayed at the Fisherman’s Cottage in Port-En-Bessin to enjoy the coast and explore D-Day history. The cottage was perfect for both. Laeticia, our host, was pleasant and responsive, a delight. The cottage is beautifully appointed. The decor is lovely and the layout extremely comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and the living room is bright and cozy. room. The bedroom was large and comfortable and bath clean and well kept. The cottage is just steps from the sea and town. It’s an easy stroll in for coffee of a meal and there is a wide variety of good restaurants. (We particularly enjoyed O’Plan B and Fleur du Mer.) Port-en-Bessin is a lovely fishing town and proved a wonderful location. We enjoyed walking the town and cliffs outside of town. It is a perfect location to explored D-Day history. We visited the Pegasus Bridges, Arromanches, sites, the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-mer,, Pont du Hoc, and many smaller sites. All were an easy drive from Port-en-Bessin. We also visited the Bayeux Tapestry Museum and easy drive inland. All in all, one of our favorite accommodations and stays!

Sejour très agreable

Nous avons passés une petite semaine au top ! La maison est très agréable, propre, très fonctionnelle, confortable, très bien située, tranquille et qui plus est, dans une rue calme, proche du port et des commerces. Les habitants de port en bessain Huppain sont accueillants ont sy sent bien ! Le petit marché sous de poissons et crustacés Le depart et l'arrivée des bateaux de pêches est un veritable spectacle ! Ce séjour nous a fait un GRAND bien, nous serions bien rester plus longtemps ..mais tout a une fin ! Nous en gardons un souvenir de bien être, de reposant, de decouvertes, de r'viens y (comme on dit par chez nous 😅 , Par contre juste dommage que nous soyons arrivé à la saison creuse (janvier) beaucoup de commerces de proximités fermés, tout comme l'ensemble des musées historiques a visités concenant la seconde guerre mondiale et son débarquement. Il faudra que l'on revienne pour decouvrir le reste !

Fantastic townhouse

Wonderful stay in a perfect seaside village and is the highlight of my Normandy holiday so far. The townhouse was marvellous, well decorated, functional, and fully equipped. Everything was perfect .
