Beautifully outfitted with warm wood finishes, western decor, and three distinct living spaces, this lodge sits just a few blocks from the center of South Fork and the banks of the South Fork Rio Grande. You'll be in the midst of plentiful fishing opportunities and a variety of hiking trails in Rio Grande National Forest, with the winter slopes of Wolf Creek Ski Area awaiting 18 miles southwest. The geothermal wonders of Pagosa Springs are also just 42 miles southwest.

Ideal ski trip house

Great place to stay for a wolf creek ski trip! Plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably.

Great place to stay for family ski trip. Close to the mountain, several rooms with lots of sleeping options, and the house is accurately portrayed online.

Very clean, bed was comfortable. I wish there was a couple throw blankets in the living room to cuddle up with. The heater in the front room didn’t warm it up at all in there. We turned on our bedroom heater and kept the doors closed. The back sitting room warmed up nicely with the propane fire heater. It kept that room very toasty. We would stay here again for sure. The pictures are accurate to real life.

Great Stay in South Fork, CO

The cabin met our expectations. Customer service was prompt and accurate. The cabin was spotlessly clean. Will consider this cabin again next year for our group.

Excellent

Very clean home. Card table in the back room is great for cards with friends. Plenty of beds/seating. Bathrooms are clean and well kept. We are planning to book again next year.

Great spaces

I loved the layout of the house and the bed size options …. Was great in that respect for a big group along with the covered porch entry. Thanks for shoveling the snow and ice from the porch, steps and drive also.

South fork vacation

This house was perfect for our vacation. It's in a quiet, less populated area and not much traffic travels on the road in front of the house. The house was super clean and well stocked with whatever we needed. The only thing I suggest is changing the mattress on the downstairs bedroom. The air pump worked but the left side of the mattress deflated every night and it was like sleeping on plywood.

This home is very cluttered and dated.

This home is dated and very cluttered. The main living areas are very dark and not very well lit. The kitchen is well stocked but way too many items and not well organized. The house is well located to ski at Wolf Creek.

Great place lousy Vacasa

Nice roomy place, comfy, well equipped including the kitchen. Unsatisfactory experience with property manager Vacasa. Being responsible for cooking for 6, I needed details about kitchen stuff, but email went unanswered and phone call was answered by a useless but polite call center in India. I’m sure Vacasa is convenient for absentee ownership but as experienced short term renters, we will never rent a Vacasa managed place again.

Excellent stay for large group

Only reason for not giving 5 stars is because we had lots of younger grandkids (6-14 years old) and I'm not sure I would recommend this wonderful home with all of its decorations...too much worry that something would break; also could have used surface space where nick-backs were staged. With that said, there is no other reason I see for not staying here for the ski season. Lots of beds, plenty of heat, kitchen well-stocked. easy-in and easy-out to Wolf Creek. We drove to Pagosa Springs and we liked the roads to South Fork, for safe driving during snowy conditions. South Fork has restaurants. gas stations, ski shops. and friendly folks. We really enjoyed our ski vacation and would stay in South Fork again.

Ski trip

The house was very clean and had a good footprint for a large group. The heating system was challenging to moderate. A better explanation on operating the heating system would be a good addition. The bedroom downstairs had an adjustable mattress for firmness and one side would deflate throughout the night. The game room on the back of the house would have been a nice addition in the summer time, but for us it was unusable due to no propane to run the gas log fireplace and no other heat source available for this room. We stay and many vacation rentals each year and although this one doesn’t top our list we would still stay here again for cleanliness, size and layout.

The Perfect ski getaway

For 3 consecutive years we’ve celebrated an early Christmas ski trip with our sons and their friends. This was the perfect place for them to spread out and have their space! Do wish it had a propane grill for steak night!!! Not a deal breaker by any means =) Hope to stay again next year.

Cozy cabin in South Fork

This cabin was very cozy and a great place to unwind by the fireplace after a long day of skiing. The kitchen was very well stocked with any kitchen gadget you can think of and lots of really classic cookbooks! I enjoyed browsing through the recipes and even found some of my favorites that were my mother's recipes! The only thing I would mention is the heating, as it needs a bit of time to get the room warm. Otherwise it was so lovely to stay here!!

Really nice and clean

Really enjoyed our time that we spent down there. The house was really clean and well equipped with everything we needed. It had lots of different games. Loved the guest book it had menus of restaurants nearby. Love the Mountain View’s we had through out the hole house. We will definitely stay again on our next visit.

Good Except Wetted Bed

House was nice and generally well equipped with good location. Was lacking in dish soap,dishwasher soap,laundry soap, dish towels, paper towels, toilet paper and trash bags. We had a 7 day stay with 10 adults and had to purchase all of the above as none were well stocked. Also called to have trash pickup early which never happened. Real game breaker was when one of the upstairs beds was discovered to have pee stained sheets making us wonder if any beds had been washed ahead of us arriving. We made sure to strip all beds before we left to make sure they all got washed for the next renters.

Wolf Creek Snowboarding trip

Great house and location..quick drive to Wolf Creek. Fully provisioned kitchen..everything you need to cook a gourmet meal. Plenty of room for everybody. Great den on the back side of the home. Only complaint is house takes a minute to warm up..especially in the morning. Would definitely stay again.

Great Stay While Skiing Wolf Creek Pass

House was very clean and as described in the listing. It was 6º the first night we stayed here and we had a difficult time getting the heaters to make the house warm. I called customer service the next morning and a local maintenance man came by while we were skiing and got everything working properly. When we arrived in the early evening, the house was nice and warm. So a small hiccup but it was handled very quickly and efficiently and we were very satisfied with the communication from VRBO and the local maintenance guy. We also ended up putting some towels at the bottom of the back entry door and that stopped the cold air from coming in. We enjoyed our stay here and it was very convenient to South Fork. Overall a great, clean comfortable property and we would stay here again. Thanks

Christmas Get Away

This property provided a perfect Christmas get away for our entire family. This was a great location for access to Wolf Creek Pass and other winter activities. There was plenty of comfortable accommodations and a kitchen large enough to cook for everyone. Thanks!
