We were a little disappointed in the exterior of the buildings/parking areas. Elevators were disgusting. The room itself was comfortable and clean.Kitchen was sufficient.We were informed the original room we booked several months earlier was unavailable 2 days before our trip. We were offered a replacement, but it was not ocean view like our original unit. We received a list of "daily activities" which were to be held at the Tiki Bar, which was closed throughout the whole trip.

Canceled

Originally had booked a partial beach view, with the building being oceanfront. Was canceled one day before leaving. They offered me another room which we had no choice but to take as family was staying here and they weren’t canceled on. My view ended up being that of a building and I had to cross a road to even get to beach.

Shore Crest I

We had a great time during our stay. The unit was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was very helpful. My daughter loved the lazy river.

Pretty good overall, few hiccups

Good overall stay. Clean and close to the beach. Listing was "limited beachview", but was an entire building behind the first one. Took us 34 min to get our room after the 4pm check in. Received a text prior to asking if we wanted a marsh view for an extra 99. I declined. Got the marsh view anyways. It was a bigger room with a jacuzzi tub and we could see fireworks from Barefoot Landing, however, it felt a little sketchy how it was handled. There are several places to stay all near this one, so the beach is crowded in this area. Lazy river is small and slow. Pool was nice. They sell timeshares at this place, fyi. Good communication from host.

Could've been better

We had AC problems throughout our stay. The condensation pan kept filling up with water and at one point was spilling over onto the floor. Called the front desk and they sent maintenance in a very timely manner but all they did was patch the issue (drained the pan) so we still had to siphon water for the remainder of the stay to keep the AC on. It wouldn't cool to a comfortable temp during the day. Also had multiple calls from the desk about attending time share seminars even though we made it clear we weren't interested. Also, there were multiple emergency response calls to Shore Crest during our stay and apparently one night someone was being "belligerent" at the pool deck and it required an ambulance and stretcher. Didn't give us a very safe feeling at all. The positives were that the room layout was nice and it was clean enough. The front desk staff were always super friendly and helpful. Parking was fairly easy as well. Always got a good parking spot even though the property was nearly full. Pools were nice during the day in the beachfront building but the one in the building across the street seemed unsafe, it was unmonitored and there is a serious lack of security and cameras overall on the property. Don't think we would consider staying here again.

Great Property, Communication Could Improve

We really enjoyed staying at Shorecrest I and thanks to the price we were able to stay longer too. The staff was great and always very courteous and nice. The parking is not the greatest because of how it was designed with no turnaround on the second floor, making it difficult when there isn't a parking space available. My biggest issue was the communication from the property manager. I called Shorecrest to confirm that our reservations were set and ready for our arrival a week prior to our stay and they said that they did not have our names anywhere. When I explained we went thru VRBO, they said because it is a third party, it will probably populate the information about our stay in a few days. I said okay, that I would call back. 4 days later, I called again to verify our reservation. Same result. I then called the day before we were due to check in and got the same response from Shorecrest. All very nice and willing to help, but not able to reassure me that I had not been scammed out of $500 without a place to stay. I managed to find a phone number of the company that was listed as property manager, despite it NOT being provided on the listing. I had to google the company name. I called and got no answer, so I called again, about 3 times total. I was about to start contacting VRBO about my concerns when I got a call from a Michigan #. The man on the phone said asked if I was *my name* and I said yes and he said, "You've called about a dozen times. What is the big emergency? We have you checking in tomorrow." I said, "I have called the property and they have yet to have my information about us checking in." He said, "Well you are checking in tomorrow, they will have it then. Just bring a photo id and have a great vacation." I said, "Thats all I have to do? Why do they not have record of my reservation? My confirmation number doesn't come up or anything. Thats why I'm concerned. I don't want to get to the beach and have nowhere to stay." He said, "All you have to do is show them a photo ID and have a great vacation." I said okay, even tho it didn't really make me feel any better about the situation. But then I received a text and an email a few minutes later with a DIFFERENT confirmation number and I called back to Shorecrest and they were able to confirm my reservations using that. Please improve the communication or at least let the traveler know they will receive additional communication before the actual stay!

Myrtle Beach

First booking thru Vrbo and had a pleasant experience. I received a free upgrade to a 2 Bdrm, the unit was in excellent condition and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I will definitely use Vrbo in the future.

Extremely disappointed

I put a reservation for this property on April 10th. I received a text 1 day before check in stating that my stay has not been secured with the host and I would be staying Fri til Tues instead of Friday to Friday. And that they would try to get the rest of the nights secured. I go to check in for a 1 bedroom and they gave me a 2 bedroom...not what I wanted. I had not heard from anyone..Monday I inquired about what was going to happed..if I had to move rooms or what..and they responded that they could not secure a room and I would be given a refund for the days missed. She told me $1800 roughly. The lady that I spoke to refused to let me speak to someone else..a manager..and then hung up on me. I have gotten a refund..but it was only $1080 roughly...big difference! I am furious!!!!!!! Not only am I out money but I had a terrible vacation worried about where I would stay and had to come home early...I feel like I need a lawyer!
