This family friendly condo has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. You will enjoy the beautiful waters and white sandy beaches from the gulf front balconies in the living room as well as the master bedroom. The fully equipped kitchen opens up to the living and dining areas and the unit comes equipped with a full size washer and dryer. Resort style amenities include an outdoor pool, indoor pool, hot tub, small exercise room, sauna, tennis court, basketball and grilling area. Shoalwater is conveniently located to many shopping establishments, attractions, restaurants,10 first class golf courses and fishing in both Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.

Enjoyable stay

Great property i found on VRBO. I take my kids to the beach every summer and this is a great property that we found this year.

Reviewer Comments: Condo unit has Great views, could use some updates in kitchen, stove had a few burners that did not work, lights out in shower stall in master bathroom. But the overall stay was nice, would rent again most likely different unit.

Pros/Cons

Pros: Excellent location, close to shops & restaurants Spacious condo. 6 adults and a toddler and we had plenty of room to not feel crowded. Great balcony size, plenty of room for the whole family to sit outside at the same time. Short boardwalk, just a short walk to the sand. Cons: Mattresses are worn out. You’ll definitely need chiropractic adjustment when you get home. The area rugs in the dining/living room areas are stained and filthy.

August trip

We booked condo the day before we left. Had confirmation immediately but unsure of check in process so had to call contact and took awhile to respond . VRBO , Jester, attempted to call/ message . Few hrs before arrival made contact with host . Have to go to booking agency address to pick up info for check in . This was unclear and not communicated but just less than mile from condo . Location great . Place clean and easy access. Master king bed little firm but tolerable . Fast elevators / short walk from condo to beach when carrying all beach gear ! Enjoyed stay very much !

Why we will not be returning to shoalwater

We have stayed at Shoalwater several times over the last few years and never had an issue. Now the chair rentals have taken over the beach and are set where the water hits the chair legs. This is from halfway into the condo property on the East completely across the beach and half way into the hotel property to the West. I'm not going to be forced into renting a chair. I put my chairs out first thing in the morning while the rentals were being placed and I was told there would be chairs placed in front of me even though the surf was hitting my feet. We had to take our chairs down to the next property to have a place to sit. These chairs are being setup on public property, from high tide down is public property but I'm not going on vacation to fight so I will not be back to shoalwater or any of their properties.

Chilly time

Great location The weather was cooler than we would have liked but that was Mother Nature. We were near arcades, shopping, and restaurants. Thank goodness for the heated indoor pool and jacuzzi. Both pools were a nice size and clean. The overall cleanliness of the condo was good. The balcony and view of the gulf was great. The condo was stocked with pretty much all you would need. The master bed mattress was not too comfortable. We had a few problems with the guest bathroom. Had to plunge the toilet a couple of times and the bathtub was very slow to drain but that was taken care of quickly. Super nice people. As the saying goes “when life throws you lemons, you make lemonade” and that we did !

Only suggestion I have is to have better blackout curtains in 2nd and 3rd bedroom. Too much light comes in from the sides of the curtains at night from the lights for the main balcony outside.

When you pay good money to rent a condo and get there to find out you have no cable in any of the 3 rooms or livingroom. The remotes are missing from 2 rooms. The remotes you have do not have covers to keep batteries in. The place is filthy in every room. The dishes in the cabinets are so dirty and still have food in them. The place is so outdated that the pictures are screaming please take me off the wall. The showers had mold growing on the faucets. I'm sorry I tried to find the good in the condo, but only came up with It's a place to sleep while there and it holds all the family that went. I've been going to Orange Beach over 20yrs and this is by far the worst condo I've ever stayed at. With this said, I've used Coastal Properties several times and they have always been great. If you rent this condo please do not expect anything and take plenty of disposable dishes. The outside of condo was wonderful..

Bad stay

We were very unsatisfied due to the cleanliness even though we got our (cleaning fee back) we found other things that were very filthy. Debris around the washer and dryers, peoples socks thst were not ours, the walls were disgusting along with the couch had dry food on it that was old from previous people, the sliding door had handprints and food on it and didn’t shut and or couldn’t open half the time. For the money that we paid for our annual family trip, we were very unsatisfied. Would love to talk to the manager or property owner to discuss this but when I called and left a message nobody called me back.

Great Location and Price

The condo was perfect for our family vacation. Great view of the Gulf and convenient location to entertainment as well as great restaurants. Easy check in and friendly. The condo had plenty of room and comfortable to fit all our needs.

Pleasantly surprised

Arrived on a Sunday but the check in process was easy. Driving in Orange Beach is a nightmare. Condo was located in a nice location. Reviews made me expect the worst. But it was clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of furniture for the whole family to be comfortable. Having an indoor and outdoor pool was wonderful on the cool days. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Pleasant stay

Property is a bit dated and could use some upgrades, but we expected that from the other reviews. It didn't effect our trip as we spent most of our time enjoying the views from the patio or beach. We had a great time and we had everything in the room that we needed to have a great trip. We were so thankful for the indoor pool since the weather got chilly during our stay.

Decent condo

It was an average condo and good for a last minute booking. Check is in not at the property, and when I messaged the Vrbo host to let him know what was broken when I was there I never got a response. The living area had all of the balcony furniture in it for some reason, lots of outlets didn’t work.. but location was great and I really enjoyed the beach and pool access

Needs updated

This condo was clean. The couch is so outdated that the material has knots in it from excessive wear and tear. The recliner had a piece of metal hanging out the top left corner that had my boyfriend not fixed, it could have cut someone’s arm walking by. The bedspread in the master bedroom was faded from excessive wear and tear. I have been going to Orange Beach for vacation many years. This is definitely the most run down condo I have stayed at

Condo needs updating.

Matresses and bedding were old and worn Furniture was stained and worn. Kitchen appliances were nice. Bathttub/shower was dirty looking.
