Peace, Privacy and a Pontoon!! No steps in home or to water!

If your dream Northwoods vacation includes an immaculate home, a level walk to 300' of frontage, a huge private pier, ripple sand beneath your toes and a quiet, 180-acre full recreation lake, then consider spending your vacation on Tambling Lake in Eagle River. The lake is private; you will probably experience moments (or hours or sometimes DAYS) when you will have the lake all to yourself. Fishermen will not be disappointed as bass, pike and panfish abound! Grill lunch and dinner and savor your meal on your private pier. Perhaps you will spot an eagle, otter or loon "dining" while you eat! After lunch, take the provided kayak, paddleboat, canoe or rowboat out for a spin. An 18' Bennington pontoon boat is also available for $550/week plus gas. A sunset pontoon cruise is the perfect way to end a fun-filled day in the Northwoods. Follow your cruise with smores around the fire pit. Sleep deeply, wake and repeat!! Families and friends will appreciate the chance to unplug and reconnect with one another. Watch a movie, play a board game, complete a puzzle and relax, relax, relax! Eagle River's famed chain of lakes is less than a 3 minute drive. Back roads are perfect for bike rides, atvs, or a leisurely jog. Participate in local festivals, flea markets, farmer's markets or just do some souvenir-shopping in Eagle River. Bring your beach towels. Everything else you will need is provided for you. A washer and dryer in the cabin are provided for your convenience. Autumn stay

We had a great time. The lake is gorgeous, clear with a sandy bottom. Cottage was well appointed and decorated so cute. Sally and Joe were wonderful hosts, very generous and easy to communicate with.

Memorial Day weekend

The property was beautiful! The communication with property owners were wonderful. We enjoyed our weekend on the pontoon. This vacation was exactly what we needed to recharge our batteries!

Family Vacation

Family getaway

We stayed at Gabe’s Getaway with my parents, sister and her family. It was an awesome week of relaxation in the north woods. The cabin has all the amenities one needs for a week away. The hosts are so kind and responsive. We thoroughly enjoyed the pontoon boat and cruising around the lake. Located conveniently close to downtown Eagle River. Would recommend!

Awesome property. Awesome hosts. Great fishing.

There’s a reason this is a five star stay in the Northwoods. We rent a place every year, and my adult children expressed that overall this was the best property that we’ve ever stayed at thus far. Great hosts. Great fishing and an awesome dock set up for swimming and enjoying the water… eagles, loons, deer and a private lake with abundant bass and northern. A great Northwoods getaway! 5 ⭐️

The Great North Woods

If you are looking for a peaceful retreat in Wisconsins North Woods, this is it. Lovely wooded lot and home facing the lake, which is very quiet (at least in October). You just have to show up and enjoy.

Retreat Into Nature

We enjoyed the comfort and spaciousness of the cabin. The lake is peaceful and we really enjoyed sitting on the dock, having coffee in the morning and watching the sunsets in the evenings. The loons, ducks and eagles came by to greet us every day. We loved all of the trees on the property and were thrilled when the deer came. Fishing off the dock, using the paddle boat and kayak added to our enjoyment.

WONDERFUL HOME!

Gabe's Getaway is a a wonderful cabin. It is our 2nd time staying at the cabin and we really enjoyed it. The fishing is very good and the lake is so clear! Joe and Sally are great to work with and are incredibly nice people. We had fun fishing, cruising around the lake, and having several campfires. We will definitely return!

Enjoyable Lake Experience

We had a wonderful time during our 2-week stay here. My sister and brother-in-law joined us for a few days and all of us especially enjoyed sitting at the table on the dock with our morning and evening beverages. Spent a lot of time on the lake fishing and relaxing. The pontoon boat was great! Sally & Joe were terrific hosts!

Our family had a wonderful time at this cabin on a peaceful lake. The kids had a great time catching fish. We were able to enjoy using the pontoon, kayak and paddle boats. Wonderful hosts who take very good care of their property and guests!

Paradise in the North Woods

Our week at Gabe’s Getaway was nothing short of fantastic. From the cabin to all of the amenities plus the fishing and the weather were nothing short of perfect. Fantastic Stay!

We loved our stay at Gabe’s Getaway. Property is very clean and perfectly situated close to Eagle River but with plenty of peace and quiet. Owners are so accommodating and communicative. We would rent here again in a heartbeat. Lake is absolutely beautiful- it was too cold for swimming (October) but it’s perfect if you come in the summer. Sandy bottom, steps for easy access to the lake, plenty of water toys, and with the shallow water it’s perfect for families with kids.

Great Vacation

Plenty of room and lots of amenities at this beautifully wooded location.. Grandkids were excited to see deer in the yard and loons on the lake. Everyone had fun on the pontoon, kayaks and canoe. The sunsets were awesome. There is a lot to do here with swimming and fishing during the day and campfires at night. We plan on booking this again next year.

EAGLE RIVER CABIN

The cabin, property, pontoon boat, firepit and lake were great. We had a very nice stay. The only issue was the ATT service in the area. We had no service at the cabin, the hotspot did not work, the tv only had 5 channels and there was no wifi. If you have Verizon you will be OK. I definitely would return if they provided wifi.

Labor Day Weekend Getaway

Sally and Joe went above and beyond with their hospitality, communication and friendliness. We left saying this was one of our favorite places we have ever visited. The house was extremly clean and equipped with everything you need. We also rented the pontoon boat at a very reasonable cost and had a great time fishing, swimming in the clean sand bottom lake and star gazing. We are couting down the days until we can visit again!

Amazing Stay

Our week at Gabe's was just what we were looking for. The Cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. There were games, puzzles and movies to fill in the time we were inside. The outside was beautiful with great sun sets. The paddle boat, kayaks, canoe were a nice addition along with the option to rent the pontoon boat. The fishing was good and the water was so clear. Off the pier the sandy bottom and shallow water is perfect for kids. We also enjoyed being close to town and enjoyed the Go-karts. Joe and Sally were great and very helpful. Their hospitality really made you feel like you were at home. Thank you for the perfect week, we will be back next year.

AWESOME CABIN!

Our first visit to Gabe's Cabin was absolutely outstanding! The cabin itself is incredibly clean and cozy and the layout is perfect. The hosts, Joe and Sally, went above and beyond making sure everything was right and answered all of our questions. Their son, Gabe is very well versed on the lake for fishing. His tips and pointers enabled us to catch many bass and northern. Thank you, Gabe! The pontoon boat is very well maintained and ran like new. This is the perfect get-a-way for fishing, campfires, and loads of R&R! Definitely a diamond in the rough. We will return in the future! Thanks!

Restful stay on Tambling in a marvelous cabin

We have stayed numerous times in various properties in and around Eagle River, WI. This cabin was the best maintained and decorated so far. The hosts were personable, informative and available (they live on the same lake). And we discovered the husbands had gone to the same college, Go DuHawks! We rented the pontoon boat and used it nearly daily, including just sitting and reading under the shade. We also used the canoe most days and the paddle boat once, everything in excellent condition. The cabin was spotless and everything functioned. The decor was comfortable and very 'Up North-ish'. The host and hostess are a class act. This is a great retreat for couples, families and anyone who wants to tune out the outside world for a while. We may be back!

Gabe's Getaway

Gabe's Getaway was exactly what we wanted and needed! Sally and Joe were perfect hosts. Everything we needed was in the cabin. The lake is small, quaint, beautiful and quiet. Plus you simply can't beat western views on the lake to enjoy the sunsets. We went out regularly on the paddle boat and my oldest son even swam on two different occasions. We got lucky with the weather as it was in early Oct. I highly recommend this cabin and have absolutely nothing negative to say about it! It's very close to Eagle River about 5 minutes or so to the east. Off the main path but still close enough to be convenient to town. Thanks again Sally and Joe for being so hospitable. Little Gabe definitely wants to come back next year and take your pontoon boat out for another spin! Pete

Wonderful Northwoods getaway for the family

We spent a wonderful long weekend relaxing in the Northwoods here at Tambling lake. The cottage had plenty of room for us and our three teenage sons, and was very comfortable; but we spent the majority of our time outdoors. The lake is serene and just the right size for taking a trip around in the canoe or kayak (provided). We also spent a lot of time fishing from the dock and out further in the rowboat (provided) and caught mostly blue gill and bass. When they weren't fishing, our boys were swimming (the bottom is sandy) or playing around with the paddle boat (provided). We also enjoyed biking the nearby windy roads through the woods and relaxing around the fire pit. Our hosts really tried to think of everything - even providing roasting sticks and fixings for s'mores. We saw lots a of wildlife: deer with fawns, eagles, etc. Also close enough to Eagle River and nearby towns for plenty to do, but we chose to spend our time enjoying the beautiful weather & nature. My only complaint is the time went too fast!

Tambling Lake Vacation

My family, numbering seven people and three generations recently spent 3 nights at this Tambling Lake property. It was the perfect size for us. We all had a totally enjoyable time. The three bedroom cabin plus the futon provided plenty of bed space for us. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. The gas grill was wonderful for our grilling needs. The cabin was ideally located in the "north woods", providing plenty of privacy and giving us the feeling that there was not anybody right on top of us. The lake itself was very clean and was a perfect size for kayaking, paddle boating, canoeing and row boating. Very little traffic on the lake and at times it seemed as if we had the entire lake to ourselves. The fishing was more than adequate with the little ones catching all the blue gills they wanted right from the pier and we did catch a couple of very nice large mouth bass and a nice northern out on the lake. I would have no problem recommending this cabin to anyone. It provided just a wonderful setting for us. If I could make one suggestion it would be to perhaps have a picnic table on the grounds which would have allowed all of us to eat meals outside.

Fantastic Getaway

We stayed up here for my brother's bachelor party and had such a fun and relaxing time. Gabe checked us in and was very welcoming and friendly. Pontoon was a fun addition to the weekend and the fishing was plentiful! Will definitely be looking to stay again soon!

Our family has vacationed in the Eagle River area for 30 years! We love the pace, the privacy and the peace of the northwoods. We can give you tips on where to find the best burgers, breakfast or bloody marys, or where to take the most scenic drive! Our family lives in Eagle River so we are close by (but not too close!) if you need anything during your stay.

We chose this cabin because it is surrounded by hardwoods and pines yet is close to the water. There are no steps, so all ages can enjoy both the home and the lake. 3 acres and 300 feet of frontage add to its secluded feel. The cabin is super cozy and clean!

Tambling Lake is private, so on some days you might have the lake to yourself. Rent the beautiful Bennington pontoon for maximum enjoyment on the water. Fishing is great because there is very little pressure. Eagle River's chain of lakes is close by and downtown Eagle River is a 5-minute drive. Convenient to groceries, post office, library, souvenirs, movie theater.
