Fully equipped including fun beach gear. Access to private beach club is nice, though there are also a ton of other great public beaches nearby (eg Mauna Kea!!). We'd love to return.

The home was clean and had what we needed. Shawn is very responsive and honest to any questions. The location is quiet and safe, close to the Fairmont and shops and Foodland.

Great vacation!

Perfect for families. Great pool and lovely walk to Fairmont Orchid and beach trail. Loved the grocery store nearby!

Just what we needed

Excellent location within walking distance to a few different resort beaches. Provided a nice home base to explore and to rest after long days in the sun.

Perfect vacation spot

I love the location, central to so many wonderful activities on the North side of the Kona cost. The condo was exactly as advertised and worked perfectly for us. Comfortable and convenient and clean.

Best place to stay on the Big Island

First of all, the owner is kind, attentive and proactive. He is a great communicator and made sure we had arrived safely and had everything we needed. This unit backs up to a beautiful fairway surrounded by trees and has a beautiful view of the evening sun. Top notch cleanliness and, well equipped with a full kitchen, plenty of extra linens, and beach gear galore.

Responsive Host

Our host, Shawn, was amazing. He responded quickly to all our communication and worked to make sure our stay was pleasant. The unit is large and well-equipped. There were a few items that could use a little TLC, but overall a good experience.

Perfect place for family

Great location to beaches, shops, restaurants, walking along the ocean, etc for a great price. My family loved this spacious, well stocked townhouse in a perfect location. They have everything you would want for a day at the beach. We rented bikes to get around and just so you know, there are only beds for 4 even though it says it sleeps 6. My 16 year old son slept on the couch.

Great place at Mauna Lani

This is great condo stuffed with anything for leisure and active vacation, and for any age. Toddler chair, Snorkeling and beach equipment. Kitchen has everything if you need to cook. The complex has great big pool. Store and restaurant are within walking distance, access to private beach club. We had great time and highly recommend this place. Shawn is very courteous and helpful, easily accessible if needed.

Amazing Location with Highest Recommendations

We loved this location. Great location and very quiet! We loved this two-story town home. It was really nice as we felt like we had our own backyard and it was very private. Also the built-in BBQ was a added bonus. The owner/host was very responsive and easy to work with.! The unit was very clean and had a great floor plan! The Townhome was well maintained, and the kitchen was WELL Stocked. We didn't want to leave! Finally, the Mauna Lani beach club was also a huge bonus where we got use of beach chairs and beach cabanas for Free

Great Location-Needs Maintenance.

I've stayed at several VRBO's on the Big Island within the same area. The location is great but this place needs general maintenance. Carpets are very stained, walls are banged up, little things that just make the stay less enjoyable. The creaking floors on the second story is very disruptive if you get up in the middle of the night. It also needs a deep cleaning, there were bugs (roaches) in the dishwasher and of course they survive the cleaning cycle.

Please read all our other 5 star reviews. We have the carpets professionally deep cleaned every 3 months and we have never had an insect complaint before.

All the little things added up

We are typically easy-going people, but all the little things added up and made the first three days of our vacation incredibly frustrating. Shawn (the host) was very responsive and we appreciated that - but if the unit had been maintained properly, we wouldn't have run into the issues we did. (Not sure the maintenance & cleaning crews are working on his best behalf). - Bathroom on the first floor was unusable the first two days because the toilet wouldn't flush. Handyman came Monday - he pulled the flapper chain off the lever, resolving the refill problem, but it caused the toilet to run constantly (LOTS of water wasted). - Microwave faceplate had fallen off, exposing the wires and inner-workings. - Icemaker in the refrigerator didn't work. Ice melted and jammed the chute; handyman unjammed it, but it refroze by evening. - Second-floor slider-door didn’t lock; handyman fixed it. - First-floor slider-door didn’t lock; handyman fixed it. Worked for a few days; finicky the rest of our stay. - Upstairs toilet didn’t always flush; had to use a pitcher to pour water into the bowl. - Used the gas grill once, ran out of gas - tried swapping the tank, but the regulator was bad. Handyman came back Tuesday - replaced the regulator. - Bath towels were in poor condition - loose strings, knots. The condo has some beautiful furniture and artwork. The high ceilings and AC were great. Would be a 5-star place if it were maintained properly.

From time to time things come up. The important thing is if they do we get them handled immediately. Guest arrived on Sunday and there were some minor issues and we had our handyman right over. I was a bit surprised by the review because they were very grateful we had all issues addressed immediately. I was disappointed by the review as on the phone she said after the "little" things as she says in the review were all handled within 24 hours she indicated they loved the condo and had a great 2 week stay. It is unusual for a reviewer to go into so much detail regarding the minor repairs. We truly do try and stay on top of everything. Please read all of our other 5 star reviews and Vanessa we are sorry you had any issues when you arrived but you did compliment us on how quickly we addressed them.

Great condo...private but close to wonderful beaches and good locations for day excursions

My husband, 10-year-old son and I stayed here for eight nights early April. It was our first visit to Hawaii and I would recommend to anyone staying in Hawaii for more than three nights (don't know who would bother flying all that way for fewer) to NOT stay in a hotel. It is possible to do Hawaii on somewhat of a budget...but staying in a condo/villa where you can prepare meals is crucial...eating out is EXPENSIVE! This condo is lovely and HUGE! Much more than enough room for the three of us. The kitchen was well-equipped with appliances, dishes, utensils, some staples...sugar, spices, etc. Appliances are high-end, place is clean and nicely decorated. We felt very much at home and relaxed and looked forward to our evenings in the condo. Plenty of beach/pool towels in the unit and the washer and dryer were great to have...we were able to pack very light. I've seen apartments that could fit in the master bath! The location is awesome. Beaches are a very short drive away...could even take a longer stroll to the beach if you wanted. You are VERY close in this complex (The Fairways) to Mauna Kea...which has the BEST beach and no crowds. It's a 5-star hotel beach and they only give out 40 public parking passes a day...we always got there before 8:30 am and always got in...that's about as late as I'd go...even earlier on the weekends. Good snorkeling...we brought our own masks and snorkels but there were some at the condo...and fins, which was nice. There was a boogie board to use as well...my son used it the whole time. Just about every day we'd eat breakfast, go to Mauna Kea, come back to the condo for lunch, then head out exploring other beaches/points of interest. So nice to come back to the condo in the evening and have a swim in the lovely and never-crowded pool. The pool, grounds, and units themselves are all well-maintained and very quiet. You're a quick drive to the shops at Waikoloa and Kona is an easy drive. Shawn was great to deal with...always responded to my emails/texts quickly with questions about the unit/area. We will definitely visit the Big Island again...ideally would get this unit, or at least another in The Fairways...and definitely get something through Shawn. Thanks so much!

Perfect everything!

Travel disasters got our trip off to a rocky start, but owners were supportive and communicated the entire trip. Location of condo was perfect and it was very comfortable for our family of 6. I would highly this condo and/or owners for anyone looking to travel.

We loved our time here. Property is quiet, well cared for. Shane, the owner, responded with enormous friendliness to our millions of questions on the first day. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great pool & nearby walks

We loved the location near tidepools & Petroglyph Trailhead, a short drive from several beaches for snorkeling & Hapuna Beach for boogie boards. It was a real plus to have lots of beach equipment like snorkels, fins, boogie boards, chairs & coolers available at the condo. The wonderful pool & spa were just a short walk from home. With 4 adults & 2 kids, we were just a little tight. The master bedroom & bath are huge, second bedroom with 2 twins is fine, however the aerobed, though very comfortable, was a tight fit in the living room area. Kitchen was great & well-stocked with condiments. Lockbox made check-in easy any time. Shawn responded quickly to all questions. We had a great week with this home base. Mahalo!

Fairways delivers!

This unit was very pleasant and comfortable, similar to other Fairways at Mauna Lani units we have stayed at in the past. It is well-equipped and tastefully/comfortably decorated in a somewhat upscale but not ostentatious way. The master bed is very comfortable with good pillows. A/C works well. The kitchen has most everything you might need for typical meal-cooking. There are quality beach towels and several beach items for guest use. Readers should note that the unit overlooks the pool on the back side. This is not a problem, as there is no loud pool "scene" or anything, and in fact if you frequent the pool it's extremely convenient to walk to the pool gate in about 25 steps. Also, be sure to take advantage of the access to the Mauni Lani Beach Club with easy parking, nice beach, and excellent snorkeling. We would be happy to stay here again!

All the Amenities

Wonderful condo in a beautiful community! All the amenities you need in garage, chairs, boogey boards, beach towels, snorkel gear etc. Shawn is fantastic responding to any questions or needs. Will stay here again as soon as we can. Only recommendation is new sheets for Master bed and a filled propane tank.
