We highly recommend this off the beaten track river house. Recently retired this was the perfect place for long overdue R & R. We enjoyed fishing, kayaking, and National Geographic experiences with eagles, osprey, etc. Alison and Chris are very convenient and extremely gracious hosts!

Excellent property directly on the river, surrounded by nature. Hosts were the best went above and beyond. Kayaking, fishing on the river doesn’t get much better and the hot tub was awesome surprise! They did a great job setting up the property. Everything you need if there spices and cookware too, just bring food and stay by the river all day and roast some s’mores all night!

The house was wonderful for our family of 5. Everything was clean and Allison kept in touch despite being out of the area. Lots of wildlife to see and very peaceful. Thanks for an amazing stay! We'll be back.

Had a great stay. Excellent property, beautiful location, perfect fenced yard for our dogs and lovely hosts. 100% recommend.

The pictures don't do it justice! The house is in such a quiet and peaceful area. The dock is great for fishing. Theres fishing supplies there already. There's lots of interesting little towns nearby. Plus a lot to do in dover and the ocean is an hour drive away

It is beautiful. All facilities including hot tub were great. Quiet and off the beaten path. Hosts are near and very helpful with all questions. Views on river wonderful from the house or dock.

Wonderful setting, cabin feel with modern amenities. Really enjoyed the quiet, the pool, hot tub, and trails.

Maryland getaway

We had a fantastic time- the location on the water was gorgeous and loved the hot tub and pool. Extremely quiet and private!

Beautiful oasis

We had a wonderful vacation. Chris and Alison were great to work with, gave us wonderful recommendations for restaurants and shops. This house was a great place to just take a deep breath and relax with family.

Perfect getaway

The house was very comfortable, the hot tub was so relaxing. We got to use the kayaks on the river. Allison and Chris were great hosts. It was a great stay.

Very Relaxing

My wife and I had a wonderful stay. To say the property is private is an understatement. I would recommend the property and we would visit again.

Great Getaway

If you love being on the river, this is kind of perfect. Remote enough to feel like you are away from the world, but close enough to be practical. We had a great time.

Retreat on the River

This house provided the quiet country retreat we needed. Hiking trails with the kids and dogs, fishing off the pier, canoeing on the river and hot tub to relax. We will be back again!

An amazing getaway

After a long year at home, we just wanted to get away and see some new sights, even though we still had to do school and work. We had a lovely time here. The house was incredibly comfortable, the kitchen well-stocked, and the pool delightful. We were able to bring our dog, too, and he also settled in beautifully.

Beautiful, private property for relaxing in nature

We had a great stay at this beautiful property. We really appreciated the large fenced in yard for our dogs, and the owner communicating to let us know where some small gaps under the fence were and offering to help block them (we have a very small dog who could have wiggled under- bigger dogs would be fine.) The king bed was so comfortable, and the hot tub and pool were delightful. We hope to return!

Riverside relaxation

Big, airy house on a secluded, peaceful lot along the banks of the historic Choptank River. Pool was ultra-clean at a perfect temperature. Short drive to all of the cool eastern shore Chesapeake towns. The hosts were hospitable, responsive, and they respected our privacy. We’d surely return to this unique property!

Beautiful home and wooded lot, just steps from the Choptank River. The owners are friendly & check to make sure you have everything you need to be comfortable. We arrived very late the first night and they left us coffee and cream in the fridge for the next morning. This property is very private, yet close to all shopping and dining. Crystal clean in-ground pool, dock with chairs, firepit, fishing poles, grill, kayaks. We will be back!

River Relaxation…Wonderful

This house is so nice! The outdoor setting is beautiful- river views, wooded and serene. There was a pool , hot tub and a dock ( which was perfect for sunset views, kayaking and fishing). Everyone in our group caught a fish. The yard was gated if you bring your dog. I miss it already.

Wonderful long weekend on the river

Alison and Chris' beautiful place on the Choptank River provided the perfect setting for a wonderful long weekend away from the city. House is beautiful, very comfortable, and far enough off the to block most sounds other than those of the geese and other forest/river inhabitants. We lounged in the hot tub, explored the farm, and enjoyed some of the history of the area - the old wharfs, Underground Railroad, and antique shops. Will definitely look forward to coming back during warmer temperatures to enjoy kayaking and other river activities.
