Great stay for our family! Our communication with the host was very responsive!The kids liked the sandy beach & play park!It is an older home with a steep staircase. However, there is a baby gate installed.It’s in a quiet neighborhood & access to a wonderful lake with beautiful sunsets!

Good property, stairs up were pretty steep for young kids and no tub for baths. No Central air so thankful two bedrooms had wall units!

It was clean, cozy and felt like home. Loved that you could see the lake from the windows and easy to walk to the lake . Beautiful weather that weekend!

Everything was good. Like amenities such as water and dock close by. Use of kayaks and paddle boards was a great bonus. We never could get WiFi to work which was kind of a bummer. The area and the lake are great.

Great location

Great location on a beautiful lake. Lots of entertainment space in the house and the beach was nice for kids to play. Easy walk into town.

Worked well for family gathering - big table for games - kitchen well stocked & roomy. Pet friendly which was great for our dog.

Great vacation

This is our third year staying at this house. It has a homey feel and the perfect location. The view of the lake is incredible. I have already booked for next year and am counting down the days!

This was our 4th or 5th year at this location. We do love it. The house layout works well. Nice open kitchen area with good sized table. The couches aren't super comfortable but work well for the kids to watch movies or play games on the large square coffee table. Full bath upstairs with half bath on main level are a plus. Large backyard area. The beach needed clean up and I did rake some; clean up crew came on day 2 and did a very good job on the beach. My suggestions for improvement include the following: An A/C unit in the south window of the front bedroom and a bigger capacity unit in the living room to handle main floor. This year was 90 temps and maybe a newer unit would be more economical overall. We do use fans to circulate air, close blinds and be sure doors stay closed. A deep cleaning inside at least once a year. Sometimes there isn't a lot of time between rentals and getting walls and window sills cannot be done each time. Clean up the landscaping. Trim up along creek. I realize that it is difficult to get right up to the creek when it's wet; however the extent of overgrowth indicates this not getting maintained. This is a home that I lived in as a child and we treat it like family. In closing, we loved our time here and will be back.

Where do we start? Our friends from Australia actually stayed there, embarrassing. 1. The place was not cleaned since the last guests. Garbage inside and out was completely full, so NO where to put it for the entire stay.2. Shades were falling down, allowing the hot sun in. Screwed into drywall that was not holding anything. Cobwebs, dirty like no one was paying attention to the small things at this place.3. The grill was a complete mess and so dirty they couldn't use it. The cover was ripped to shreds and mostly off, hanging there.4. The upstairs air conditioner blew air but was not cooling at all, during the hottest stretch of the year!5. There was no clear path on the beach to access the dock; it was all big rocks that you had to go over. Very Dangerous!! A small brick or sand path would have been nice.6. The dock and beach were nice.So disappointed for our friends who came all the way from Australia to join us at the 70th Waterama; they've been planning this for 2 years.When they come back, we'll not book this place unless some major things are done to make it a liveable place to stay!!I believe they took some pictures if you'd like to see them.

We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your friends did not enjoy their stay, especially after traveling all the way from Australia for such a special visit. We do want to clarify a few points for future guests. As you mentioned, you did not personally stay at the property. The reservation was made on behalf of other guests, which is contrary to VRBO’s booking policies and unfortunately prevented us from communicating directly with the individuals staying in the home during their visit. Our home is professionally cleaned and inspected before each arrival. Had we been notified of any concerns regarding cleanliness, overflowing garbage, the air conditioning, or the grill during the stay, we would have responded promptly to address them. We maintain a local team specifically so issues can be resolved while guests are in the home rather than after checkout. Regarding the beach access, the shoreline is accurately represented in our listing photos. Like many natural Minnesota lakeshores, the property includes riprap along portions of the shoreline for erosion control. The dock and swimming area are exactly as shown, and we’re glad your guests enjoyed those amenities. We continually invest in maintaining and improving the property and appreciate feedback that helps us do so. We have already inspected the items mentioned in the review and addressed any maintenance needs we found. We wish your friends safe travels.

Lake Minnewaska Views!

Super cute property with wonderful views and access to the beach. It is apparent this is a well loved family property whose owners chose to share with others. While the circumstances of our trip were for somber reasons, the cabin environment was really nice and comforting.

Nice for a couple days away. I think the property is as it is described. The amount of space was awesome. There was a rancid smell in the fridge and the upstairs toilet ran. But I’m sure those have been fixed.
