Castello di Montegufoni is an exclusive location to spend wonderful holidays in the heart of Chianti Region.
Dating back to the 12th century and restored in the 17th century by the noble family of Acciaioli, the Castle has a magnificent tower built on the model of the one of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
Montegufoni Castle is part of a large estate comprising vineyards and olive trees and is surrounded by the beautiful Chianti landscape. In the castle there are 39 apartments and a large garden with a nice swimming pool: the perfect spot to relax and have fun with your family and friends.
The Chianti Region is one of the most renowned charming area in Italy for its cultural, historical and enogastronomic traditions. This luxurious Castle offers to our guests incredible holiday experiences (on request) such as cooking lessons, event location, guided tours and more!

Distances from the villa: the small village of Montagnana V.P. with food shops 1 km, Montespertoli with all kinds of shops approx. 5 km, Florence 20 km, Pisa approx. 70 km.
A bus stop with busses to Florence is only a few meters from the castle away. Bikes and scooters for rent are available in Montespertoli.

At guests’ disposal: large and very charming terraced park furnished with garden furniture and table tennis, beautiful Italian gardens (dating back to the 18th century) with lemon trees and swimming-pool (12 x 6 m - open from 01/04 to 31/10). Reception open from 9.00 to 12.30 and from 14.30 to 18.30. The outbuildings of the castle as well were restored and turned into charming apartments. The castle is run by the Posarelli family. A nice restaurant offering nice recipes of the local Chianti tradition is open every night (from April to October except on Tuesdays). Laundry with shared washing-machine (€ 4,- / per washing). WI-FI internet connection available in some apartment, in the reception and restaurant area.

Extra services: on request possibility of renting a baby bed (€ 50,- / per week) and an extra bed (€ 100,- / per week) both payable locally.

Alles sauber und viel Platz. Es fehlten uns Weingläser und Espressotassen, die wir auf Nachfrage aber bekamen. Lage und Schloss sehr schön. Wetter leider zu kalt für Pool. Heizung funktioniert!

Tres beau chateau, avec emplacement exceptionnel pour visiter la toscane. Appartement sympa et surtout très propre. Personnel agréable. Néanmoins, tres tres bruyant, nous avions l'impression que les voitures passaient au pied de notre lit. Infecté de moustiques. Electricite, gaz , pression d'eau qui fonctionnent à son bon vouloir, transat insuffisants.... équipements identiques à un petit camping. ( ne pensez meme pas cuisiner ). Le rapport qualité prix est loin d'être satisfaisant! Il y a sûrement mieux sauf à vouloir participer à la préservation d'un site historique! Pas à la hauteur de l' annonce présentée

10 logements à l' extérieur du parc du château dont le 36 que nous occupions. À droite : une petite route fréquentée par tracteurs, 2 roues, camion poubelle et qques voitures dès 6h du matin et toute la journée. Les 2 fenêtres de chambre en simple vitrage donnent directement sur cette route !!! En face : le parking À gauche : logement du personnel d' entretien donnant directement sur la terrasse, passage permanent. Dans la salle de bain étage, donnant dans chambre parents, cloison en bois avec logement voisin, on entend comme si on était dans la même pièce ! Je partage complètement l' avis laissé en juin par les allemands, que j' aurais du lire avant ! Équipement spartiate. Manque four, grille pain, sèche cheveux, lave vaisselle, vaisselle très très limitée (pour 4, rien de +). Porte chambre parents ne ferme pas, chaises trop basses pour table intérieure, feux gaz cuisine marchent mal, 1 ne fonctionne pas, literie vieillissante. 1100€ la semaine en juillet aout !!! Le rapport qualité prix n' est pas bon. Pour ce prix, on devrait avoir bien mieux, ou pour cette prestation, cela devrait être bien moins cher. À part cela, le château est beau avec beaux panoramas, le logement est grand, la piscine sympa (très fréquentée), accès Florence 20 Minutes env, très jolie région.

Le cadre du château est très joli, typique toscan. Cependant, 10 logements, dont le 36, sont à l' extérieur du parc, au bord de la route face au parking ! Donc très bruyant dans les chambres en simple vitrage, qui donnent directement sur la petite route où passent tracteurs, 2 roues, camion poubelles ...dès 6h le matin. Équipement minimum = manque four, grille pain, lave vaisselle, sèche cheveux, vaisselle très limitée, Maintenance : literie vieillissante, porte de chambre parent ne ferme pas, gaz cuisson 1 feu ne fonctionne pas, chaises trop basses pour la table intérieure Situé à coté du logement des personnes de l' entretien, donc passsage permanent du personnel au ras de la table extérieure. Zum Haus ist zu sagen, dass die Fotos den Zustand besser darstellen als es in Wirklichkeit ist. Die Austattung der Küche ist mäßig. Man sollte einiges von zu Hause mitbringen. Geschirrs ist nur 4-Fach vorhanden. Pool und Außenanlage ist in Ordnung, aber wenig gepflegt. Vor Ort ist fast ständig ein Büro für die Gäste besetzt, allerdings lässt die die Freundlichkeit sowie Hilfsbereitschaft zu wünschen übrig. Ein Lichtblick ist der GUISEPPE, der gutgelaunte Hausmeister des Anwesens. Schade, wir hatten mehr erwartet. Nur, wer unbedingt mal in einem Schloss wohnen möchte, dem ist eine Buchung zu empfehlen, dann aber darauf achten, dass man nicht in einem der vielen Nebengebäude landet. Das Schloss ist sehr schön gelegen und durch Alter und Einrichtung sehr beeindruckend. Das Restaurant ist sehr empfehlenswert. Wir hatten das Apartment Nr 36 mit 2 Schafzimmern und 2 Bädern. Die Einrichtung war sehr urig und typisch für die Region. Die Ausstattung war allerdings sehr spartanisch. Nur das nötigste Geschirr. Nicht mal ein Wasserkocher oder ein Toaster. Einen Backofen haben wir ganz besonders vermisst. So konnte man nicht mal ein paar Brötchen oder eine Pizza aufbacken. In dem Begrüßungsprospekt das uns überreicht wurde, hieß es "hier werden Sie nur vom Zwitschern der Vögel geweckt". Das war leider überhaupt nicht so. Die Straße direkt neben dem Apartment wird morgens zwischen 05.00 und 08.00 Uhr von den Bewohnern von Montegufoni als Rennstrecke zur Arbeitsstelle genutzt. Aufgrund der nicht vorhandenen Isolation der Fenster und Wände hört sich das an, als wenn alle mitten durch das Haus fahren. Am zweiten Tag reiste einen Gruppe von 112 Leuten an - überwiegend im Alter von 20-30 Jahren. Von da an (bis zum folgenden Sonntag) war der Pool rund um die Uhr belegt und es wurde bis morgens um 04.00 Uhr (am Samstag bis 06.10 Uhr) Party gemacht. Mittelpunkt war ein Ghettoblaster der allerfeinsten Sorte mit Extrasuperbass. Beschwerden (nicht nur von uns) bei der Hotelleitung führten dazu, dass die Musik etwas leise wurde, dafür der Bass aber um so mehr dröhnte. Nachdem diese Gruppe abgezogen ist, kam eine eine größere Gesellschaft, die u.a. auch in das bis dahin leerstehende Apartment neben uns eingezogen sind. Wenn dort jemand sprach oder Geräusche machte, hatten wir den Eindruck, dass die in unserem Zimmer stehen. Wir haben noch nie so schlecht und so wenig im Urlaub geschlafen (die Matratzen sind übrigens auch mieß). Die Straße direkt neben dem Apartment wird morgens zwischen 05.00 und 08.00 Uhr von den Bewohnern von Montegufoni als Rennstrecke zur Arbeitsstelle genutzt. Aufgrund der nicht vorhandenen Isolation der Fenster und Wände hört sich das an, als wenn alle mitten durch das Haus fahren. Am zweiten Tag reiste einen Gruppe von 112 Leuten an - überwiegend im Alter von 20-30 Jahren. Von da an (bis zum folgenden Sonntag) war der Pool rund um die Uhr belegt und es wurde bis morgens um 04.00 Uhr (am Samstag bis 06.10 Uhr) Party gemacht. Mittelpunkt war ein Ghettoblaster der allerfeinsten Sorte mit Extrasuperbass. Beschwerden (nicht nur von uns) bei der Hotelleitung führten dazu, dass die Musik etwas leise wurde, dafür der Bass aber um so mehr dröhnte. Nachdem diese Gruppe abgezogen ist, kam eine eine größere Gesellschaft, die u.a. auch in das bis dahin leerstehende Apartment neben uns eingezogen sind. Wenn dort jemand sprach oder Geräusche machte, hatten wir den Eindruck, dass die in unserem Zimmer stehen. Wir haben noch nie so schlecht und so wenig im Urlaub geschlafen (die Matratzen sind übrigens auch mieß). We had apartment # 36 with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The decor was very rustic and typical of the region. The equipment was however very basic. Only the most necessary dishes. Not even a water cooker or a toaster. We missed an oven. So you could not even bake a few rolls or a pizza. In the welcome report presented to us, it was said that "you are only woken by the chirping of birds". Unfortunately this was not the case at all. We had a wonderful time at this property. Our accommodations were as expected - nothing too fancy but everything we needed. The area was great - the views spectacular. The check-in process was hassle-free and all of the people there were very friendly. The food at the restaurant was great. If we have one recommendation for improvement it is regarding the chlorination of the pool. It was a very clean and refreshing pool, however the water smelled very strongly of bleach (i.e. laundry bleach) rather than chlorine or bromine that might be used in a pool. Not a big deal - everything else was sublime!
