Sargassum Seaweed Update:

The Caribbean Sea has been experiencing a higher volume of sargassum seaweed in recent years from Florida, to central America, and onto all island in the Caribbean. While the staff removes it daily, the seaweed can pile on the beach. We like to inform our guests because the seaweed could potentially prevent enjoyable use of the water at our beach . If there is seaweed on our beach, there are many other beaches available that will not have any. It depend on the winds and the tide. It comes and goes

This condition is unpredictable on a week-to-week basis and something that is out of our control. As a result, we cannot issue refunds as a result of sargassum.

Comfortable and on the beachfront

Condo had everything we needed. It is exactly as pictured-- right on the beach, about 30 yards from the water. Hosts were very responsive to questions. Great experience! Clean/Comfortable!

Very comfortable stay

Enjoyed this comfortable condo. It is well-equipped, comfortable bed and furniture, beach equipment supplied. Check-in was a bit delayed due to the cleaning crew not being finished, hence the 4 stars. Overall a very good experience. Owner was responsive to any and all questions.

Spectacular

This is an awesome condo. (For a couple) Day 1 the Hot water heater was not working. Dean had the plumber over there within 30 minutes to fix it. Beach front porch. Step out onto the sand. We will be back but maybe not in June. The seaweed arrived and smelt extremely bad the last day but that’s beyond Dean & Sandy’s control.

So relaxing

This is a great unit at Sugar Beach. The kitchen is well-stocked with all of the equipment you need. We had everything we needed. We found the bed to be very comfortable. We spent a lot of time sitting on the patio looking at the water. The beach at this end of the building is nice. We will rent here again!

A perfect spot!

This condo was beautifully decorated and situated right on the beach. We could leave the doors open and the condo was perfectly cool with ocean breezes. The neighborhood is quiet and the beach practically to ourselves. Centrally located near Christiansted, an easy trip to all our outings. We had a wonderful stay!

Good location on a quiet property

Clean condo with super comfortable bed. Everything you could need for an extended stay. Great location, minutes from Christiansted. Very central to all the island. Quiet and plenty of parking. We enjoyed our time at property!

Very nice updated condo just foot steps to the beach.Very short drive to Christiansted and restaurants.Highly recommend renting a car and exploring the island.Great communication with the Host Dean.Very helpful.

Girlfriend Getaway

The property was exactly as represented. Short walk to beach and ocean which was very calm and easy to swim and relax The condo pool was very clean but extremely HOT in the evening but we swam in it anyway The king size bed was very comfortable and the closet had plenty of hangars. Loved our stay on St Croix Island!!

Overall we had a really nice stay, condo is just as described and excellent communication from the owner. You can't get any closer to the beach, just outside the back door. Nicely stocked kitchen and bath with a really comfortable bed. Nice and quite location with a great pool area. Nothing negative to say about the condo itself or the amenities. There are a couple inconveniences about the beach area, there's a gentleman responsible for maintaining the area with a bobcat, he would start around 9:00 am and continue through out the day, if you're looking for relaxing time on the beach you may want to look elsewhere. The machine he uses all day, is very very loud and noisy, my wife and I found ourselves laughing out loud at how obnoxious the loud it was. If you're coming from the airport we would recommend stopping at Plaza East and Cost U Less for groceries, if you forget anything Food Town is just down the road. Bring your swim shoes, you'll need them on the beach. The best snorkeling is at The Landing Beach/ Bar and Dorsch Beach, unfortunately we couldn't find any fish at the condo. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and are looking forward to returning.

Beautiful condo

We rent a villa on St. Croix but like to come in a few days early. We usually stay in a hotel but we decided to rent a condo. We were very pleased with our decision. The condo was very clean and well appointed. The beach is beautiful and we loved the pool. It is very close to Christiansted. The owner is very responsive. I would love to stay here again in the future.

This place is amazing! The property owners thought of everything! First of all, it is very easy to get to, just look for the large sugar beach sign. Parking is ample. When you walk to the door the lock box is very easy to use with no extra pushing of a # or *. When you get inside there is a very comfortable king-size bed with a TV that has Roku. We did opt to keep those curtains closed as it overlooks the parking lot. The closet in there has extra beach towels and an ironing board. The door sticks just a little, but if you pick it up, it closes fine. The bathroom is perfect and the glass shower makes it feel bigger. They provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, tissues, towels and a hair dryer. Anything you could need.. The kitchen is fully stocked with every baking and kitchen utensil. They even had a little mini grill and coffee maker, complete with coffee filters and coffee for the morning. There is a washer and a dryer! We spent a lot of time sitting in the living room staring out at the gorgeous view from the comfort of the air condition. Fun fact, most things on St Croix are outside, and do not have air condition. The rest of the living room was very well maintained. And under the TV was a puzzle and some books! I do wish they had more games to play for two people or even a pack of cards. The beach is wonderful. Everything is. Unlike other places that need updating, this one looks even better than its pictures.

Had a great visit!

This was our first visit to St. Croix, but it won't be our last, and having such a positive experience with the rental certainly went a long way toward our enjoyment. The condo was exactly as it appeared in the photos, and having direct access to the beach was wonderful. As others have mentioned, the water is kind of rocky, and during the second week of our stay, the seaweed wasn't being cleaned up as regularly, but you still can't beat the view, and sitting out on the beach is the perfect way to start or end your day. Any of the other beaches are an easy drive away if you want something different for swimming. And in terms of the easy drive, the location of the condo is just about perfect. It's really close to downtown Christiansted, so easy to pop over to the boardwalk, and centrally located on the island, so I don't think anyplace was more than about thirty minutes away. But even though it was easy to hop onto major roadways to get to wherever you were going, it's not actually located on one of the major roads, so you don't have to contend with traffic noise (not that that seemed to be a huge problem in most places), and nothing interrupts the peace and tranquility. The AC works well in the unit, so don't be worried just because it's not central air; you'll definitely stay cool enough. The only thing I'd say is that even with the open living area, air didn't seem to fully flow into the kitchen well, so when I tried to stay cool while cooking, I'd sometimes freeze out the hubby in the living room! We usually ate one meal in the room every day (typically breakfast), and the kitchen was well stocked with various cookware, tableware, and utensils. Honestly, it's probably one of the most fully supplied VRBO kitchens I've stayed at. And, communication with the owners was clear and easy. A welcome letter was provided to make our check-in process easy and provide the all the essential information we'd need for our stay. But beyond that, Dean was always available to answer questions, including goofy things that I should've been able to figure out, and to speak with my husband to answer some questions when we were curious about possibly purchasing our own place on island. I appreciate his willingness to make himself so available. We are already ready to plan our next visit to the island, and we'd definitely be willing to rent here again. If you're lucky enough to stay at this unit, you won't be disappointed.

This condo is exactly what is in the description and was perfect for us. The kitchen had anything you could ask for or need and the bed was very comfy. Very very quiet complex with grounds that was very well kept and neat.

The condo was just as described, right on the water and had a great sunrise view every morning. The complex was quiet and well maintained. We had a wonderful time. It's location couldn't be beat, a little outside of town, but still close to restaurants and shops. We enjoyed the pool and had a great time exploring the island. Parking for the rental car was convenient, as it was directly outside the walkway to the condo. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to St. Croix. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay!

The place and location was very nice and clean. It was updated and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the pool. The beach was inundated with sargassum. At first it felt a little disappointing, but we were able to travel to so many beautiful beaches around the island and do so many great things. I truly feel that the sargassum didn’t affect our stay. Maybe it even enhanced it by forcing us to go out and explore.

Nice Place

We enjoyed our stay at Sugar Beach Condos. It was clean and comfortable. We had a couple of issues during our stay and I contacted Dean and he handled them as quickly as possible. Great location. Our stay was very peaceful and quite. The property was quite nice also. Stay Left!!!!

Such a great getaway

This condo was exactly as pictured and described. It was RIGHT on the beach which was very quiet with plenty of chairs. It was very stocked and clean. The owners respond very quickly with any questions you might have. I would definitely stay here again!

Anniversary vacation

The view is absolutely gorgeous! The condo is decorated so nice in a beachy, ocean theme which I loved. It was so nice being on the ground level. The condo includes snorkeling equipment so you can go out anytime to check out the sea life. The pool area is very nice and not busy at all! Location is good, only minutes away from downtown Christiansted. Conveniently located in between the West and East side of the island. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on St. Croix!

After 3, month long visits, we felt we could not find any better place on earth and purchased our oceanfront home away from home. During our travels we never rented oceanfront with a beautiful beach because the price was just to much. We are happy to share our piece of paradise with others at a very reasonable price,.
