I'm a long-time Putnam Valley NY resident and lover of the area. I am a documentary filmmaker and newly retired NYU professor. I enjoy hiking, swimming, kayaking, gardening, dinner with friends and family and reading biographies especially about music.I love to host the Lodge because I take pride in that it's a true retreat. It’s rewarding to provide guest recommendations for hikes, restaurants, and unique activities in this special area. We want to help guests make the most of their stay.

I am pleased to be able to offer this great retreat of a place with others who are respectful of the place, the property and this unique town and community.

The property offers a variety of unique niches indoors and out that create a truly special atmosphere. Enjoy relaxing in the hot tub on the back deck or take a short stroll up to the pool nestled in the hillside. Multiple outdoor decks provide perfect spots for dining w/ friends and family, unwinding, and soaking in the views.
The Lodge design itself was inspired by Adirondack and Aspen ski lodges. Indoors you will discover cozy reading nooks, in our stunning great room and our favorite little window filled room that we call the "treehouse room" just off the dressing area. The home office and library offer great spaces for focused work or reflection. Gather around the fireplaces in both the great room and dining room even on rainy nights in the summer.
Listen to the soothing sound of the stream just outside your window after it rains. For outdoor enthusiasts, a private trail behind the house leads into the woods, while the Granite Mountain Preserve hiking trails are just a short walk away. Additionally, Fahnestock Memorial State Park is only 15 minutes away, and the Hudson Highlands are about 25 mins away providing even more opportunities for adventure.
