Memorial weekend getaway

From the moment I arrived at the home I felt like I was visiting family. The house was so cute and comfortably decorated. It was clean, the yard was mowed, even the towels were so freshly laundered that they were still warm. I am so happy I stayed there. I was a little disappointed to find out that the home was actually a mile and a half from the beach, not 3 blocks, but that did not deter any of our weekend fun. I highly recommend!! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

Not as advertised- this is a miss, stay away!

Disappointing. This is an old home in a sketchy, run-down neighborhood. Don't be deceived this property is not three blocks from the beach as advertised (walking distance). The front yard is overgrown with grass, the home had an awful musky smell, penetrating our clothes (awful) and unacceptable roach problem. We had to park in the back the house in an alley, and for safety resorted to use the dilapidated garage, also with roach infestation. We didn't feel safe as the backyard gate had not lock and this neighborhood is super sketchy. We rented this property in mid-August during the hottest summer time and the AC was not functional! We suffered an 84 degree temp indoor and when we notified the property manager were asked if we had somewhere to go to spend time away from the property to give time to work on the AC (we rented the property to spend our time there). The property manager even suggested a portable AC. We ended up requesting a refund but only received credit for a one night stay and still got charged for one uncomfortable stay and cleaning fee! Maybe they can use the cleaning fee for pest control treatment. Lastly, the property manager later contacted us asking us if we were aware of where a painting in the computer room might be. The impropriety of the question, as if we would walk away with any item not ours. Surely this is not in accordance with Home Away brand and standards.

Clean little bungalow

This place met my needs perfectly. It was comfortable and a short drive to either downtown or the boardwalk. HEB and Natural Grocer are close by and convenient.
