Elk Meadow is located on a greenbelt and next to the Cougar hiking trail which leads to Monte Verde Lake. This spacious three-bedroom/three-bath home with an oversized two-car garage is ideal for large gatherings. Everyone will want to spend their time on the large wrap-around deck with a private gazebo. After a day of mountain activities, you can soak your bones in the hot tub on the deck. You can escape the city life by taking in the fresh mountain air and enjoying the abundant wildlife. Channel your inner chef as you whip up a meal in the fully updated/outfitted kitchen. No stepping on toes; there is plenty of space for the whole gang to hang out in open concept living/dining/kitchen areas. Down the hall are two bedrooms, each with a king-sized bed. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. Another bathroom is located off the hallway. Upstairs is a large loft with a sitting area that has a sectional sofa, a game table, and two twins over double bunk beds. Also upstairs is another bedroom with a king and a double bed that shares a bath with the loft area. There is a washer/dryer in a separate utility room. This home also has free internet access.

Great house and location

Cozy Cabin Christmas

We loved our short stay in this cabin; perfect for our family of 6 adults, 2 teens and 2 kiddos. Great customer service and communication! We had car troubles preventing us from getting home as planned, and the property managers helped us with a late check out and finding us a place to stay an extra night while the car was in the shop!

The VIEWS were incredible!! We spent most of our outdoor time on the covered deck. The hot tub was heavenly. We enjoyed daily visits from a friendly doe we named “Sweet Pea”, chipmunks, magpies and hummingbirds. There’s plenty of space to spread out inside and outside. We needed a minor repair and it was handled quickly. Beds were comfy. Master shower with a view, 2-car garage, and firepit were awesome. The only reason I didn’t give this VRBO a 5-star rating was the home could use some updating.

Beautiful property!

The property location was beautiful and peaceful. Everything was as described, the house had everything we needed. Only exception was the knives were pretty dull, but that happens a lot in rental properties. There was a water boil ban The week we were there which was a hassle, but That had nothing to do with the property. We enjoyed the Jacuzzi on the patio and spend a lot of time in the outdoor gazebo. Deer came by in the meadow nearly every day.

Texans Wanted SNOW!

We drove over from Texas because we wanted a White(ish) Christmas. This trip was 14 of us, and we wanted a place close to Angel Fire Ski Resort, so the kids could learn how to ski. House was a close respite for all once we were off of the mountain. Only things to complain about aren't really complaints. Kitchen pots and pans could do with an upgrade. Lights would be nice on the deck nearest the edge of the property. Trash disposal (having to drive it to the dumpsters across town) was....fun. Other than those, the house was cozy, it was perfect for our group, and had plenty of space to be together. The wood burning fireplace was a great and welcome sight, and the hot tub after a long cold day on the slopes was the right end for the days. House was easy to get to, and the check in and out was easily accomplished with the programmed locks. We were also able to park two cars in the garage, which was really nice. Made loading up to come home a breeze too. For those who didn't ski, Taos was a short drive away through the forest, and we took hearty advantage of its proximity three times. Overall, we would give this property a healthy 4.5 out of 5 stars, and would recommend staying here to those on the fence.

Thanksgiving holiday

Fun for all ages and stages. We had adults in their 70s, 60s, 50s, and 30s, an all but crawling infant, and a geriatric dog to please and everyone was happy. The green belt trails were just right, and plenty of them to hold the interest of the more active hikers. The kitchen was well equipped, even for this pastry chef. Close to the grocery store yet quiet and peaceful. Would do this every year!

Great family location

Great place to stay for a family. Saw deer everyday. Some even came close enough to sniff hands. Saw elk. Great Lake and trails near by. Highly recommend

Labor Day Weekend

We had a great time in Angel Fire and other surrounding towns! The house was perfect for our family, Me, My husband, 2 sons, daughter her husband and baby and my parents. We loved sitting out in the deck in the mornings and evenings! We also took our two dogs and the fenced in area of the yard was perfect for them! I would stay here again and would highly recommend this property.

I could stay for months!

The property and home were beautiful. We loved our stay. The only complaints were the high speed internet wasn’t great and the beds in rooms other than MBR were uncomfortable. Also, we had to clean out a lot of dog poop from the fenced in area. I think renters should be required to clean up after their pets. The kitchen and MBath updating were lovely and the home was very comfortable . The gazebo and deck were awesome. We also appreciated that we were given amply supply of trash bags, and other basic necessities. We would definitely rent again. Thank you!

Wonderful except...

The house was wonderful, had everything we needed, clean and spacious! The location was fabulous, views majestic but the barking dogs across the property and to the right of the property barked incessantly so the quiet peace we hoped for was flawed. Not sure if anything could be done but we wouldn’t rent there again because of that.

Family Vaca

We had a great time, the only hiccup was our checkin which was delayed a few hours. Ordinarily not a huge deal but when you have kids that have been in the car for 10 hours it was frustrating.

Pretty good cabin

I would like to say first of all this was not a bad cabin at all there were a few things that we did not appreciate. Another review said they had payment problems and we did as well. We got charged twice and then the manager had said we received a refund and on our end have not received that yet. This cabin is very close to many different things including the cougar trail if hiking is something you like. Another thing I would like to address is that you cannot wash the cabins sheets or bedding which in this time is very important to us to be very healthy and clean. I hope to see a few improvements but overall not bad.

Hi Mike, We are sorry about the glitch with the double payment. It is a fault with our integration with VRBO/HomeAway. We did promptly refund your credit card on file, but some card companies can take 5 to 7 days to show the transaction on your statement. I also think there is a misunderstanding about washing the sheets and bedding. Guests are allowed to use the laundry machine during their stay. We do ask that upon departure to not start a load of sheets and towels. Our housekeepers take the linens to our commercial laundry center which is more sanitary. When guests start a load of laundry it slows our housekeepers down because they have to wait for the machines to finish their cycle. Thank you for your understanding. -Resort Properties of Angel Fire

so disappointed in "Resort Properties at Angelfire".

This is a property manged by a management company not an owner. I was charged two deposits, neither of which i have received back yet, in addition to VRBO fees and separate management company fees. Fire place doesn't function properly (management attempted to assess and said it was a faulty design, open a window to deal with the smoke!), the cell reception (ATT) is useless and there is no house phone. It claims it is 3.3 miles from ski lift but, actually it is 12-15 min away. Otherwise the house is as presented. The management company was rude and exasperated when we inquired/ complained, eventually we were issued a small credit (12/30/19)and have yet to have it reflected in our account. I'm guessing we will need to follow up for a THIRD time. We go to Angelfire every year, this is the first and LAST time we will ever rent through either VRBO or "Resort Properties at Angelfire".

We would like to address the issues you mentioned: 1) I was charged two deposits, neither of which I have received back yet, in addition to VRBO fees and separate management company fees. - We don't believe we charged for 2 deposits. Perhaps there was a fee from VRBO that was mistaken for a deposit. We actually put 'a hold' on the credit card instead of a charge and it is automatically released within 7 days of your stay if there is no damage. Your deposit was released but may take time to show up on your credit card. 2) Fireplace doesn't function properly (management attempted to assess and said it was a faulty design, open a window to deal with the smoke!), - The guests who stayed in the home prior to your arrival had no problem using the fireplace. The homeowners had serviced and cleaned it 2 times within the last 1 1/2 years (most recently this past November). We did not say it was a faulty design since there have never been issues before. We did recommend opening windows to help the smoke leave the home from the fire that was attempted. 3) The cell reception (ATT) is useless and there is no house phone. - We have no control over the ATT cell towers. This is an issue for all of Angel Fire when our population quadruples in size and several ATT cell customers are in town. The locals that use ATT don't like it as well. All of our properties have ditched their landlines. Very few homes in Angel Fire still have a house phone. 4) It claims it is 3.3 miles from ski lift but, actually it is 12-15 min away. -The distance of 3.3 miles in our description is accurate. Angel Fire is a rural community. During the winter there is snow on the roads that may cause the drive time to be longer than what it is in a city. 5) The management company was rude and exasperated when we inquired/ complained, eventually, we were issued a small credit (12/30/19) and have yet to have it reflected in our account. -It is unacceptable for our staff to treat any of our guests in a rude manner. We will definitely review this with our team regarding customer service. We did issue you a $500 credit, which is not a small amount, for the non-use of the fireplace.
