Sister Trip

My sisters joined me for a gathering. Some of us stayed at the waterfront home and others stayed at National Harbor, but we floated between the two. The peacefulness and Zen of the waterfront home was much needed and restful. Everyone enjoyed the stay and the memories that were created. If the house wasn't so big, I would just take time to book it for my husband and myself, even though we live in the area.

West Coast Family Reunion

This house was perfect for a family reunion. 9 persons in VRBO and 10 folk staying locally. From badminton, kayaking, grilling and eating the sunset every night together, it was perfect. Every bedroom had an adjacent bathroom, the dining and great room had spectacular views of the river. We were foodies and cooks and had to bring some of our own equipment, but the kitchen was capacious and a pleasure to work in. Everyone wants to come back and the little ones want to live here!

Absolutely wonderful!

We have stayed in a few VRBOs, all have been really great, but this was the nicest by far. Lots of space, beautiful views. Once we figured out the park and ride, it was an easy trip to DC. Water pressure was a bit weak, but all the great things in this house made up for it.

Perfect family retreat

We had a wonderful stay at this property! The house was beautiful-big and sprawling for our family group of 8 adults/young adults. Gorgeous view of Potomac. Loved the location…rural woods lake house, but about 40 minutes to DC. We enjoyed the kayaks, the boat house and visited many historical sites. Sylvia was always very responsive and helpful to all our questions. Highly recommend.

Beautiful, on-the-river property

This home is spacious, clean and private. The river view is priceless. I would recommend this property to any and all. 45 minutes from downtown DC; but the rural location has the feel of absolute peace and quiet.

Family New Year’s Vacation

This house was everything we needed for our vacation with our adult children. Everyone had plenty of room. The property was clean, well stocked and the beds were extremely comfy. The beautiful view of the river was heightened by all the windows around the house. Definitely recommend. Sylvia was also very attentive and helpful.

Beautiful Property

My family stayed during the 2022 Christmas holiday; the home with guest house was well-equipped with waterfront views of the Potomac River. We enjoyed the expansiveness, openness of the living and dining areas. It was the perfect place with lots of space, good sized rooms all on one floor.

Wonderful Oasis

We were fortunate to rent this property when we had work in the DC/Alexandria area. This is an absolutely beautiful property. The views in the living and dining area are incredible. We spent a lot of time outside in the evenings. Great way to recharge! This location has 3 bedrooms in the main house. One with an en-suite the other two with bathrooms just outside the doorways. All beds are super comfortable with high end linens and furnishings. Each bathroom was sparking clean with amenities. All had either a shower or shower/tub combo. It was so nice for everyone to have their private bathrooms. The casita or guest house was so cute and comfortable. We had a newly married couple in that location and they reported great sleep and comfortable space. The kitchen/breakfast nook is a dream. I LOVED preparing meals there. It was easy to visit with everyone and had every pot/pan/utensil you could ask for. There were oils and spices and all kinds of goodies. I’d love to plan a family vacation here in the summer. The dining room views are incredible and a nice large table for 8. Very comfortable and lots of good eating and visiting took place. The decks are wonderful. We saw bunnies, deer, birds of all kinds, especially loved the blue jays and woodpecker. Geese flew in every evening. There’s a great grill that can accommodate large meal prep and a picnic table for outside dining. The host, Ms. Sylvia, was incredibly inviting and communication was on point. There are kayaks for your use and life jackets supplied. I appreciated her book of things to see and do. The wifi worked well and was fast. We watched TV on the last night. That tells you what a great time we had. Our nephew is at the Naval Academy and we were able to pick him up for 24 hours. He loved being there and enjoyed the wildlife. This is an incredible property. You won’t be disappointed if you are fortunate to be here.

Lovely Fall Home in DC

We stayed here Oct 26-31st. The weather was perfect and fall colors were gorgeous. The property is beautiful, spacious and everything we could have asked for. Being by the water was so great, we caught fish and used the kayaks provided on the Potomac. The view from the house is incredible, sunsets… wow! Perfect location close to downtown DC, National Harbor, Mt. Vernon. So much to do in the area. The communication was excellent from the host. Clean and well stocked home. My husband said, this was the most comfortable bed he has ever slept in. Pillows and towels, very quality. We loved our time there and would love to come back 5+ stars! Fantastic getaway from DC. Especially good for those with mobility needs.

My family and I really enjoyed our time at this property. Pictures really don't do justice to the view of the Potomac River on the back deck. The sunsets are perfect. The space was more than enough for myself, my wife, my small daughter, and three other adult family members. The property includes a guest house with its own bathroom, two-burner electric stove, and refrigerator. Also, it was especially important for us to have a space that met the needs of one family member who uses a mobility scooter to get around. There was a huge bedroom with an extra-wide door, grab rails in the bathroom, and a ramp from the garage into the house. Finally, the owner Sylvia was extremely communicative, answering every question we had during our stay within minutes. I can't say enough good things about the property, and have already recommended it to friends.

Beautiful place away from the hustle and bustle of the city

A wonderful weekend spot away from it all, but still 30 minutes to an hour drive (depending) to Arlington, Alexandria, DC and other tourist areas of Maryland. Great for families with kids and grandparents alike! The place had everything we needed for my older in-laws to my 2 and 4 year olds. I will never forget the stunning view of the sunset over the Potomac. Sylvia was super accommodating and very responsive. The only downside, which may not be a negative for everyone, was the lack of nearby sit down/trendy restaurants. But you have everything you need to cook a meal at the house! 5 stars!

Why we LOVED this property!

My friends and I highly recommend Sylvia’s beautiful property. We were able to enjoy DC and other historical sites and then come home and relax with a glass of wine and breathtaking sunsets. We all agreed that this property is designed with visitors' comfort in mind. The home is well-stocked, with shampoo and conditioner in all four bathrooms, books, games, and everything (minus food and drink) you would need in a kitchen! Thank you, Sylvia, for creating a beautiful environment for memory making😁

Great stay!

Did a family getaway with 4 kids (8-14). It was the perfect house. Plenty of room… large bedrooms, several bathrooms and a nice open living space. Being on the water with the captain’s quarters and the kayaks were great. House was clean, stocked and well maintained. Short distance to National Harbor.

Beautiful river view

Quiet location on Potomac River. Enjoyed touring historic sites, but did not have the best luck catching places on open days. Close to DC, National Harbor, Alexandria. We even made a day trip to Annapolis. House met our needs quite well (two families with 5 grown up children). I will miss the comfortable bed I slept in for the week!
