Had a fabulous visit for fall colors. Accommodations were excellent with a fantastic view. Everything was clean and comfortable. It was a great location to venture into North Carolina and West Virginia for day trips. Highly recommend!

It was a nice place to stay; it felt like being at grandma's. The host was reasonably easy to communicate via messaging. However, when we experienced storms with awful rain and tried to contact them to report the roof was leaking, we received no response.

Wonderful property with astounding views...easy access....very high energy place. Our friends from Australia had stayed at other places across the country and they rated this the best. Looking forward to another visit.

The elevation of the house provides a great view to the south. The sunrise was especially beautiful from the porch. The house is furnished and equipped in a way that makes it feel like a home.

Weekend Getaway with Friends

Our party of six (three couples) thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Great view...quiet setting off the Blue Ridge Pkwy...and the home had everything we needed!

Gorgeous View!

The view was absolutely beautiful. The house had a very cozy feeling with plenty of room and the large deck was great for having breakfast and a cup of coffee while taking in the view.

Winnie’s Retreat was the BEST EVER

This home was warm, cozy, and very inviting. Every corner was spotless. Definitely a home away from home! The furniture was comfy, the beds were great, and the view was amazing. We can’t say enough about this lovely home!

Beautiful views & just like grandma's house

The views from this house can't be beat! The home was very clean and had just about anything you could need. It really felt like you were staying at your grandma's house, which we loved. There is a rustic trail down the back to a creek which was great for kids with a sense of adventure. Would definitely stay again.

This house is such a gem! The view is spectacular and it was more than amazing to be staying on the blue ridge parkway. It was as good or better than any lookout you can pull over to the side of the road to see. You feel so high up like in the clouds. It is peaceful and it is extra special to be welcomed into a family home that brings you into their story. It was such a refreshing weekend. The hosts are very gracious and kind! We would definitely stay again. And I’m recommending it to everyone who wants a get away to the blue ridge parkway.

Our second home

We come to the area often and have made this place our second home when possible (until we find our own). It’s homie, clean, quiet and yes a little aged and dated but that’s what we love about it (besides the view and the peace and quiet).

Sunrise is stunning!

Every morning we were treated to different sunrise! Just gorgeous sitting on deck watching the sun come up, and being surprised by whatever the clouds are offering that day! Also enjoyed New River Trail. We hiked but saw many bicyclists.. will definitely plan on coming back to bicycle the trail!

The house was beautiful and the view of the mountains couldn’t have been any better. Did notice last night muddy paw prints up on the deck guess “Yogi” was looking for something LOL but all looked ok nothing out of place or messed up. My dad really enjoyed himself and that was my big reason for the trip was for him. Thanks again have a great holiday season.Sorry this platform wouldn’t let me add my pictures.

Perfect!

The view from this delightful home is awe inspiring. The house is secluded but not remote. The house itself is comfortable and most attractive. You might want to bring disposable plates, glasses, and bowls since those are in short supply although we had enough for two people. I look forward to booking this gem again.
