Cozy cottage under the 100 year oak

Thank you for your feedback, Robert. We appreciate you acknowledging that the listing did advise guests to confirm pool availability prior to booking. Unfortunately, the pool had been damaged and we were in the process of replacing it during this time. We completely understand how someone could assume it would be available during the summer months, though, and we appreciate your suggestion regarding making that information even more prominent. We also appreciate the feedback regarding the bunk bed and will certainly take that into consideration. We’re glad you otherwise enjoyed the property and would consider staying with us again. We would be happy to host you and your friends in the future!

We sincerely apologize that you were unaware the pool was unavailable when you arrived. We understand that was disappointing, and you were refunded the $200 you requested for the inconvenience. We would, however, like to clarify several of the other concerns mentioned. We were at the property during the first three days of your stay working to reinstall the pool and interacted with you during that time. Unfortunately, an issue arose during installation that prevented us from completing it. During those interactions, no concerns regarding the air conditioning, refrigerator, cleanliness, linens, or toilet were brought to our attention. Had they been, we would have gladly addressed them during your stay. Regarding the toilet, this is a nearly 100-year-old historic cottage and, like many homes of its age, it does have some quirks. The toilet has been repaired and secured to the greatest extent possible and does have slight movement; however, there is no indication that the toilet or floor is in danger of falling through. We take pride in maintaining this historic home and regret that the pool situation negatively affected your stay. We only wish the additional concerns had been brought to our attention while you were there so we could have had the opportunity to address them.

I’m so sorry you were only able to stay three days due to your health issues. The home is not handicap accessible and does have stairs which made it difficult for you.

You were so ugly. You were angry because you did not know the pool wasn’t open at the time of your stay. When you called, I misunderstood you to say something was dirty and I immediately sent the housekeeper because she had just pulled out upon your arrival. Then you explained the house was clean you just didn’t know the pool was closed. When vrbo said you couldn’t get a refund, you began pulling the linens off the bed trying to lie and say things weren’t clean. When vrbo didn’t agree with you , you wouldn’t give the key to the housekeeper until you got a refund and your rude children were all in the adults business. Even though you got a refund you still acted up. I would never rent to you again

I’m sorry you felt you had a bad experience. I’m not sure you are being fair. You checked in a day early with me giving you a discount and explaining that the pool pump had a replacement part arriving that day. Although the pool was not perfectly clear the chemicals were correct and stable. You mentioned that evening while they were replacing the pool part that the fridge wasn’t cooling so they went in and fixed that promptly. Later you called saying the commode wobbled but when the maintenance man came the next day he wasn’t allowed to enter. As to the pads you are referring to, the front room and bunk bed are foutons as pictured. They have always been in the home and we’ve had no complaints. There are no curtains missing because we do not have curtains in the utility room. Only blinds!! (As pictured) Any worn ones have been replaced and as to the loose screw in the threshold it has been tightened. We are in the south and have regular pest control. If a bug flies in, it dies. The pest control is working!!!

As you stated You tried to cancel your booking before arrival but due to the policies you weren’t allowed so you left a terrible review. That is your choice but we have had multiple happy guest.
