Beautiful views from this property which was perfect for a multi-generational get together. Michelle the host was very responsive and helpful. We had a great week here. The local Alpaca place was excellent and we also saw dolphins on a local dolphin watching trip

The house was lovely - clean and well supplied with cooking implements. There were great views form the upstairs lounge as will as lots of comfy seating. The conservatory downstairs was also super comfy and got lovely and warm from the sunshine.

Our family of 8 just returned from a wonderful trip to Ireland, and our stay at the boat house was one of the best things about it! The house was perfect for our family- everyone had their own private bed and bath, very comfy, with wonderful views from every room. Our favorite things to do were watching the horses, especially the cute little foal being quite naughty to his patient mother, and watching the boats go by on the other side and the tide coming in and going out. Also we loved walking up the lane, all the beautiful wildflowers, not to mention the beautiful flowers at the house. This house is truly a gem, we all wanted to stay longer. Michelle is a wonderful host, so welcoming and had delicious scones and bread waiting fot us. We would stay again for sure!

Lovely home, perfect for our large extended family. The upstairs bar/living room was magical for happy hour as you could watch the tides and see out on the river. Horses in the back yard, sand to dug in at the Pier and nearby beaches. Very quiet and peaceful but plenty to do in the area like hiking, boat trips, beaches, cycling and more. The hot tub was a huge hit, especially on the grayer colder days. Host Michelle was so kind and welcoming, even made brown bread and a chicken balti dish the night we arrived. We strongly recommend.

Superb accommodation

Really enjoyed our stay, Michelle was always available for any queries. The house is fantastic, especially the bar / tv room. A really quiet location and great for a peaceful relaxing holiday, whilst enjoying the Guiness!!

Great house for a group holiday

House was great for a group of friends with kids ranging from 7 to 11 with plenty of outdoor space for the kids to run around. Property was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Would highly recommended this property. Loved the welcome basket of scones and fresh bread.

Wonderful house. We have 15 family members and it was perfect. Close to all the beautiful sites in area. Beautiful views. Horses in pasture in the back with their foals. House had everything you could want.

amazing house and surroundings

The boathouse is ideal for a big family or group of friends. It has everything you need and much more to enjoy ! The atmosphere is cozy and you can feel like home during your holiday. The host was also very nice and helpful. Thank you Michelle

Paradise in Ireland

Michelle had freshly made scones for us when we arrived and showed us how to work everything in the house. The view is amazing, the hot tub lovely, the horses in the field and the pantry well stocked. It is far from many places, so be prepared for some long drives. Our family of 13 had plenty of space and wanted for nothing. . Michelle is delightful

A trip of a lifetime

The pictures do not do this place justice. It truly felt like a fairytale from the drive into the property, waking up to horses in your backyard, and the feel of a sea breeze. The home was fully stocked with everything we could need as a group of 8! The host was lovely and responsive throughout our stay. Thank you again for sharing your home with us!

Family Gathering

We are fifteen aged from 72 to 3 between four families. We try to get this group together annually and this year was to be special. We knew from our first viewing of the Boathouse that it checked all of our boxes. Location, space, arrangement of space, tranquil setting, and amenities met all of our needs and expectations. Our hosts were responsive to all of our questions and needs, prior to arrival and during our stay. The Boathouse was key to making this family gathering as special as we hoped it would be. Thanks to Michelle and Robert.

A magical place

My siblings and I brought our mother to Ireland for her 89th birthday. We were a group of 8. We rented the boathouse and it was even more beautiful than the pictures let on. The house was very clean and ready on time. Michelle was an amazing host meeting us the first day with home made scones and a chocolate hazelnut cake. She also helped us with arranging transportation from Shannon airport to the house for our sister who missed her flight. She is amazing. The house and its surroundings were nothing less than spectacular . The light surrounding the tidal basin and estuary changed everyday and was magical. It truly is a very special peaceful place by the sea.Thank you again Michelle for all your help and advice.

My wife and I just had a Halloween weekend in Co Clare at the boat house with all our family. 8 adults, 3 teenagers and 3 young ones. From my first contact with Michele, I was made feel quite at home long before the weekend even started. We arrived late and being October it was great to find the house warm and cosy. There were freshly baked loaves, cake, brownies in the kitchen with milk and ice-cream etc in the fridge - fantastic..The house easily facilitated all our needs, with ample entertaining spaces (excellent TV bar area upstairs with great views of Shannon estuary), kitchen and dining room coped with the 14 of us perfectly. Bedrooms and bathrooms have everybody the original spaces they needed. Even though it was Oct/Nov the jacuzzi was well used by quite a few of us. The area of South West Clare gave us exactly what we wanted for our late autumn break, surprisingly good weather, cliff walks and fantastic views.Overall everybody had very enjoyable short break in a very comfortable and spacious family friendly home.Thx for all that Michele.

Incredible house and hosts

First, we had to push back our arrival because of sickness. Michelle was very patient as I updated her daily with 'yes we are headed down tomorrow', then the next morning...'so sorry, we arent able to drive today'. I was driving myself crazy, but Michelle was wonderful, understanding and patient. When we finally arrived, it was everything I had dreamt it would be. We all fell in love with the house, its proximity to the water, the location, everything. It couldnt have been more perfect for us. Because we were all sick, the hot tub was icing on the cake. We had a problem the first night with the heat in the hot tub and Robert came the next morning and fixed everything. We thouroghly enjoyed our time there and will return to this home, if possible, in the future. Thank you, Michelle and Robert for everything.

Stunning Beauty

The beauty of the surroundings, the grounds and the house is stunning! 3 generations of my family gathered for a reunion at this house. I brought my children to Ireland 23 years ago and did touristy things. This time my children gathered with spouses and children of their own. We had a wonderful time at the house. The children looked forward to time in the hot tub each evening. We had cocktails and mocktails in the upstairs bar. We had a birthday party in the dining room. We visited the horses. We kayaked on the estuary. We cooked so many meals. We spent most of our time on the peninsula - visiting the lighthouse. the cliff walk at Kilkee, the Bridges of Ross and walking alpacas. The Cliffs of Moher, Doolin and the Burren are just over an hour away, so that was a delightful short trip. Individual families traveled overnight to Connemara and Galway City, Dingle and Dublin. But it was the house and the yard and the estuary that fed our hearts and souls.

Wow! Absolutely incredible house and view!

We had two families- each with 3 kids, ranging from 7-13y. INCREDIBLE view, clean, ample space and responsive owners! They were so kind to us upon arrival, even being late getting in. There is the coolest bar area/TV room upstairs where we spent our evening gazing at the Shannon River and boats or on the other side, the beautiful horses. We were able to open windows for an amazing breeze. The kitchen was completely stocked with whatever one could possibly need. The hot tub was loved by all! The bedrooms were spacious and an excess of bathrooms for our crew! Linens and towels were provided. The water was very hot (which I’m sure could have been changed, but just be careful with little kiddos taking a shower! This is an absolutely beautiful house that I hope we get to visit again. The gardens, the view, the house itself. It’s not too far from Kilrush and Kilkee. Gave us an amazing jumping point to travel to the Burren, Aran Islands, Cliffs of Moher, Cliffs of Kilkee (wowwww), Scattery Island, Dingle Peninsula, and way more!! Pubs are close in town, and one of our favorites was where you turn off to come to the Boathouse (Keane’s). You will NOT be disappointed!!!

Family Birthday Celebration

The Boathouse was the perfect vacation home for our multi-generational family (ages 2 thru 75.) Michelle and Robert were wonderful hosts providing us with a delicious hot lunch and baked scones and brown bread upon our arrival. The 7 bedrooms and 6 bath house were perfect for our 15 member family. The kitchen was fully stocked and the outdoor living space provided us with additional room to spread out. The kayaks gave us an excellent opportunity to explore the Shannon Estuary and the hot tub was a great way to relax sore muscles after long hours of exploring the Wild Atlantic Way. We highly recommend the Boathouse to any family wishing to Explore the beautiful West coast of Ireland.
