Another stay in paradise

The condo is perfectedly appointed in a great location. Grocery store, coffee house, new bakery (Pau), and takeout places are all within walking distance. The lanai is the perfect place with its chaise lounges and chairs. The condo vibe is perfect.

Absolutely Lovely Stay

We loved our stay! The property was exactly as advertised. Enjoyed a week of watching sunsets from the beautiful lanai. Watching whales and turtles was daily event from the property. Perfect for relaxing. It was appointed with everything we needed. The location is perfect! Off the busy path, but close enough to everything-restaurants, hikes, stores etc. Hope to stay again.

Yet another fabulous stay

The property is just as beautiful as I remembered it. It is in an ideal location. Can walk to grocery store and several take-out food options. Short walk to Honokawai State Beach Park. The unit has everything you could need for a wonderful vacation. It is beautifully decorated!

Amazing stay

The condo was amazing. Perfect views of the beach, ocean, sky, and nearby island. The bedroom AC was a nice touch on humid days. Overall couldn’t ask for much better.

Excellent location, wonderful condo with amazing views! Couldn't find onsite recycling, so dropped off at the local recycling redemption center in Lahaina.

Paradise Found!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week over New Years and we had an incredible time. The actual condo and location exceeded our expectations and we could not have been happier. This place has all of the amenities you could ask for, and the scenic beauty is breathtaking! Not only would we recommend to family and friends, but we will definitely be back. Probably the 3rd or 4th time we have stayed in this unit and we still love it. This time to celebrate my 75th birthday where we were joined by a group of 20 including family and friends and grand kids. A special time! We are already planning for our next visit.

Ocean front paradise

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sandy’s home away from home! The funky vibe fit our taste and made the stay fun. We saw whales spouting from the lanai and turtles swimming below. We even snorkeled 100 yards north of the unit and joined a green sea turtle while he was eating dinner. The location was excellent for enjoying really good snorkeling north of there and all the historical sites nearby. Everything was as expected. Thanks for sharing your Maui home, Sandy!

Maui paradise

Unbeatable location for peace and quiet with a private beach and friendly neighbors. Fully equipped kitchen, soft sided and regular cooler, beach chairs, umbrella, plenty of towels and in-unit washer and dryer made it a wonderful stay. Good communication with the owner regarding check-in. Walkable in either direction to restaurants, a little less than a mile. Also the Maui bus ($2) picks up nearby for a trip to Lahaina Town or Whaler's village, etc if you don't want to drive. Comfortable bedding, easy living, wifi worked for all our devices and was fast enough to work remotely.

Trip of a lifetime

Where to begin?!?! Our trip to Maui was everything you dream Hawaii would be. We are forever thankful for Sandy and her generosity in letting us stay in this amazing condo. The location, views, and amenities were just perfect. We enjoyed watching turtles swim by, snorkeling with the turtles and exotic fish, lounging on the lanai's daybed, the list could go on and on!! We especially enjoyed having an in-unit washer and dryer and an air conditioner in the bedroom! You simply will not find a better place to stay on Maui. Thank you so much, Sandy, for spreading the aloha spirit with us!

Exceptional Stay

My husband and I stayed in this wonderful unit 2/28-03/06, and everything was exceptional. The view from the lanai is even better than the photos. We could see whales from the lanai daily which was a real treat, and while the snorkeling out front isn't amazing, we did see some fish and more excitingly several turtles in the water, and the sunset is just exquisite. The kitchen is well appointed with a full set of pots and pans, cooking utensils, coffee pot with flat bottom filters, tupperware, pyrex dishes, cutting boards, and basic spices. The king size bed is ridiculously comfortable, and the addition of a portable AC unit in the bedroom meant the temp was always very comfortable. The Samsung smart TV has all the major streaming services as well as broadcast TV with great instructions for set-up, and there are beach chairs, boogie boards, and pool noodles to make exploring the beach that much more enjoyable. Do be sure to bring your own shampoo/conditioner or plan to purchase some once you arrive. This location was perfect for walking to the Farmer's Market for Acai bowls, Bad Ass Coffee for a morning cup of joe, Miss Arepa for delicious lunch, and down to the water to watch the sea turtles lounging in the sand. We found a lot more vegetarian food on the island this time, with some favorite spots including China Boat, Down the Hatch, The Gazebo, and Moku Roots. If this unit is available, do yourself a favor and book it right now. We will 100% be returning to what is now our favorite spot to stay in Maui.

Quiet Luxury . . . Escape the Hotel Crowd

Found this sneaky fabulous property on VRBO and, not having used them before, were not sure what to expect since pictures hide and highlight what owners want to be seen. Upon arrival, we were amazed. The owner(s) describe it exactly as delivered. Beachfront, 3rd floor, end unit, Molokai on the horizon, sunsets available, village store within a few 100 yds on, frankly, the best part of the island. Beautifully appointed, this is a great place to relax (we were hit with the Island's worst rainstorm (12/9/10) in several decades). Our only glitch was the living room TV (it was Heisman week, we're from Oregon) and used the bedroom TV without issue. Frankly, that was the only time we used it. Property is immaculate and offers lawn chairs, small pool, spa and BBQs. We're big on getting out and this was a great jumping off spot - North beach, Kehei, Makena (Big beach), Haleakala crater. And EVERY restaurant we went to, whether high-end hotel or man-on-the-street food, both the service and meals were wonderful - Kehei Cafe, Star Noodle & Pioneer Inn (Lahina), Hali'imaile General Store (on way to/from Haleakala crater) and Plantation House Restaurant on the Plantation course at Kapalua. Hey, even the local Safeway has decent and affordable sushi. Finally, recommend Snorkel Bob's, down the road, for snorkeling gear (cheap, but good) and a trip to Black Beach in front of the Sheraton in Kahnapalii, if you're into that. We spent much of the morning before departing doing the required clean-up and were rewarded with a full refund of our deposit, so all's good on their word if you keep your end of the bargain. It's a month since we left and my suitcase is still packed, just in case! Bottomline, you want a nice one bedroom, comfortable, well appointed space, in a great location and close to everything (except Hana) on the island, this is your spot! Yes, we have already recommended this property to many people, will continue to do so and look forward to returning.

Left stranded with no place to stay

Owner dropped the ball! We were left stranded, no return message or phone call. Vrbo tried contacting owner with no reply. Sitting in the condo parking lot on the phone with Vrbo trying to find another reservation on the fly after traveling all day. Vrbo took great care of us. I was in tears and have never experienced anything like it when booking. 2 weeks later I received, "an I sorry excuse " of I was sick, my internet was off & my phone was not working. I don't care about your excuses. We paid you and you utterly failed us as a host. It was a fabulous way to start my cancervisary celebration!

Great condo in a wonderful complex

Hale Mahina is a wonderful complex. Low rise with a small pocket beach providing ocean access, BBQs, a good sized pool, a hot tub and nicely landscaped grounds with plenty of sun loungers to enjoy the awesome view. Casual but classy. It is well placed to easily access supermarkets, stores and all kinds of eating options from 5 star to casual restaurants, bars, excellent takeaways and food trucks, something for every mood. It is also well placed for all West Maui attractions and is an easy drive for day trips all over the island. Sandy’s unit is very nice and is very well placed within the complex to enjoy the 180 degree ocean front view from the third floor, one of the best views in the whole of Hawaii with the sun setting directly in front of the lanai. The condo is larger than most in the area, has a full sized washer/dryer and is equipped with everything you might need. Most of the attractions and facilities in West Maui are open and very welcoming of tourists. We had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Not So Luxurious

The view is outstanding. The kitchen has been updated and the bathroom has had periodic updating but is dated in style. Old cabinets. Biggest letdown was NO A/C. The unit was unbearable to sit in most of the day due to heat and humidity. The trade winds do nothing to cool off the unit but rather just let more heat and humidity in. This unit NEEDS some a/c for the summer stay. Unit is located at the end (hood) however above the pool and outside grills and tables which is where everyone comes to congregate at night so if you want quiet time, this is not for you (especially from the pool). We booked our stay based on the View and advertised Luxurious remodel. Outside of an average quality updating of the kitchen, nothing was remodeled and definitely not luxurious. By the way, next door has older bungalows with dogs chained up 24/7 and barking all day. We would never book this stay again. With the cost of this unit, there are numerous other higher quality, quiet places to stay that will also provide a/c. Hope this helps the next guy, I wish I had known.

Just Perfect

Wow. Just Wow. The place is utterly perfect. We were blown away by the view when we opened the door. We did not want for anything. We have stayed in several condos in the Honokawai area and this one is the star. Walking distance to the grocery store (great faux chicken salad/dill potato salad/acai bowls), coffee shop, as well as the Honokawai State Beach Park. The unit is very clean, sporting a large lanai with all the different types of lounging chairs (and a chaise!) you could want. The living room is spacious with a beautiful largeTV screen and comfy sofa. A well stocked kitchen (with coffee filters!) that provided everything we needed for a simple meal. Bedroom was quite nice with a strong AC unit and built-in TV for relaxing. Bathroom spacious and lovely. All in all a perfect stay!

All the Islands are beautiful, but in my opinion, West Maui has it all!!

This is old Hawaii with the advantage of great restaurants, hotels, spas, shopping, golf etc. all nearby.
It is a quiet corner unit that is private, very spacious, and recently beautifully decorated.
Once you arrive, you feel like you live there! The property has two, four story buildings with only 52 units.
It is an intimate setting with a private sandy beach, a beautiful pool, spa and grassy area for BBQs.
The two island sunset view from the large private lanai is stunning and the whale watching November through April is beyond compare!
