A two bedroom, one bathroom property that can accommodate up to 6 people. has a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, stove, ovens, cooking utensils and dinning wares. Linens and towels will be provided to guests. WiFi connection available. No pets allowed. Non smoking property.

Enjoy the quiet beach, peaceful surroundings and lots of nature. The night sky is spectacular and the stars are countless. The cottage is very cozy, QUIET, very comfortable for your relaxation. If you're looking to escape, the cottage is for you!
The property being on the lake, the weather changes anytime and is much cooler and windy, however window air conditioner are provided during hot weather.

This place is beautiful and definitely a place to restore the soul. We had such a great time as a family enjoying the beach and the water. Our two kids loved the upstairs area and spent a lot of time up there playing. We will definitely go back!!!

First Anniversary Vacation

We liked the quaint size of the cabin (i.e. comfortable). My stepson and his fiancé stayed the first 2 nights upstairs and the room is better designed for children not adults. We especially enjoyed the privateness of the beach area. Only a couple of times during the week did we see anyone on the beach and only when they walked past. It is a beautiful location. We also enjoyed watching the freighters sailing by on the lake. The cabin was well stocked with kitchen and bathroom necessities. Thank you so much.

All that we needed and more!

Great property right on Lake Huron, it really had all the amenities we needed for a great stay. Would highly recommend for people looking to get away and have a peaceful time.

Great Place To Stay

This was our first time using VRBO. Everything went perfectly. Great place for a family getaway. Just show up and relax. The beach area was perfect.

Perfect for our family

We had family from out of state stay in this side, while we rented the other unit. They had a wonderful time and couldn't believe how nice the beach was and the amount of stars you can see there at night.

Peaceful

We had an enjoyable time. There wasn't anyone in the other half of the house so it was very quiet and peaceful. Nice beach, great for rock hunting. The house was clean and comfortable.

Great family place!

We rented for 4 days around Fourth of July 2022 and we had a great time. The property is very kid friendly there are two gates leading to the water and it’s completely fenced in. We took our 4 and 1 year old and they had a blast playing on the beach and in the water. We will be looking forward to visiting again sometime in the future.

Wonderful Stay for Family Reunion in area

We stay in a rental for our annual family reunion in the area. There were three of us here this year and we booked The Tan's Property #1. The property is very clean and has everything anyone would need for a vacation rental, including both a drip coffee pot and a pod for single cups (bring your own coffee). We enjoy looking out at the lake from the living room and/or the deck. The deck has a large picnic table which we enjoyed every night and early morning. A few of the screens had holes, so we were unable to open the kitchen windows, but did enjoy the fresh breeze through the living room on nice evenings. Joy Tan checks her communications frequently and is very responsive and helpful.

Perfect vacation that we needed during pandemic!

This is a great location in a nice quiet neighborhood with Lake Huron beach as a backyard. The place was a bit smaller than our expectations but adequate for our family needs. If you are looking for eating out etc., this may not be the place for you since the place is in quiet rural area with limited restaurant choices. If your idea of relaxation is fixing some meals and hanging out at beach with your family or taking long walks, this is perfect. Remember, this was in middle of COVID-19 pandemic. If I am looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation I would most certainly consider this place.

Annual end-of-summer getaway

This is our 3rd year in a row staying at Sunrise In Sandy Beach. Once again, we had an amazing time. As always, the beach was a hit and we had a great time staying inside and playing games. The house was clean and comfortable for all of us. We did have to use a Wok to make scrambled eggs and bacon since there wasn't a larger non-stick frying pan but it all worked out. :) Also would recommend the Huron City Museum tour with Katie if you're there in the summer over a weekend. If we've come here 3 years now, with 4 kids that now range from ages 6-14, that is saying something. Will be back again!

Beachfront Family Getaway

This property and its location were ideal for our family of four, including a toddler and infant, for five days. The cabin was clean and well-adorned, with nearly everything needed for a weekend escape, though some fixings were slightly dated. The private beach adjacent to the place was perfect, with areas blocked from the wind that helped tremendously with the little ones. We will definitely be booking again! The only drawback worth highlighting is misinformation in the listing that affected how we prepared for the weekend. Notably, there was not a washer/dryer (we had brought too few clothes, planning to wash), and the grill was missing grates, making it inoperable (though we brought food, planning to grill).

Inaccurate Listing Info

This property (#1) states that is has 3 bedrooms and a washing machine and a dryer. It had two bedrooms and a clothesline. The grate on the charcoal grill is half the size it should be. The entire property is fenced in, which seemed very odd. There were "no tresspassing" signs on the neighbor's fence which was off-putting. It got a little chilly at night and there were no extra blankets. The place was very clean and had extra cleaning supplies. No matches or lighters. Very nice dark sky if you turn off the street light. Very rocky beach, bring water shoes. Nice fire pits. The excess sand needs to be cleaned out for better oxygen flow. Plenty of firewood. Overall, we had a nice stay. Property is well-maintained. Very quiet place. The adjoining unit had a family staying there, but we could not hear them.

Amazing time at the beach!

My family of 6 (2 adults + 4 kids under age 12) had an amazing week at Sunrise on Sandy Beach! We are already looking forward to making this an annual trip for our family because we had such a great time. Beautiful morning sunrises got us up early and kids were down at the beach everyday by 9AM! So convenient to have the beach right in your backyard. The fire pit was great at night too. We spent lots of time collecting rocks and walking up and down the beach. Kids even had fun playing basketball out front. Location was great as we could buzz into town really quick to grab what we needed and we also spent lots of time exploring the thumb - there's so much to do! The house was comfy enough for all of us and clean (couple bugs here and there but no big deal). Owners were great too - on the first night one of the kids locked the upstairs bedroom door behind them and we didn't have a key in the house. They came out and helped take care of it before the end of the night with a smile on their face - thanks so much! Other positives: - while you do share the property with another tenant, it didn't bother us much as there was plenty of room for everyone. We didn't hear any noise next door though it was only one person there. - in-window AC kept the house cool enough (for mid August stay) - wifi was good (though my Chromecast had trouble connecting). There was cable TV too but we only watched it a couple times. - very private, even from the neighboring ptoperties. So nice! - the water was good, some rocks for sure but a good portion was sandy and good for playing. - nice hammock to relax in Only a few minor things to cause the 4 star review instead of a 5: - we didn't have a pot big enough to boil noodles (for spaghetti) and no large mixing bowl (for pancakes) but we improvised. - There was no broom that we could find either. With the in and out from the beach all day, there was lots of sand! We used the vacuum a few times but a broom would have been nice for quick clean ups. - the beach was big but had lots of sticks. We got a few pokes in the foot but nothing terrible though the other tenant in the other property mentioned she had received a few "punctures" during her stay. There was a rake on the beach so we tried to take up some areas fort playing in. Overall, we had a wonderful time and fully intend to come back again next year. Thanks for an awesome vacation that was well needed!

family reunion/ family getaway

Loved being right on the Lake and close enough with the wooden bridge to allow elderly parents to get to the beach. The Step between living room and kitchen in unit one was hard for my visually impaired family member to see, we had to rim it with bright toys and move the black rug to the step base to allow easier visibility. Washer and dryer in Unit two invaluable to get the family through the weekend and it was great not to have to worry about dirty, wet beach towels after swimming. We laundered the towels and hung them on the line at Unit one. The rock-hounds in the family spent hours on the beach and the firepit on the beach was great for the younger family, a little harder for the older family to get to and stay in the wonderful wind off of the Lake. A.C units kept the rooms cool and we brought fans to further that air circulation throughout the two units. Concerns that we texted to the Host were answered and addressed. It was a wonderful family get together and quiet enough that you could hear the Lake through windows that could be opened. It was a great place for a large group of family staying together for the weekend and we will be going back.

4th year in a row!

I'll continue to write positive reviews after my family and I just enjoyed our 4th annual end-of-summer vacation here. We continue to love the privacy of the beach and have never had any issues with vacationers in the adjoining property. It's quiet and the location is perfect for us. We can do many adventures in the thumb-area within 30-45 minute drive (this year we visited the Thumb Octagon Barn). The full bed isn't the most luxurious (we bring a mattress topper) and we did have some little gnats get in the upstairs A/C unit one night but overall, not a big deal in our eyes. Owners are amazing and just a text away with anything you need and to provide tips for things to do in the area. Hopefully the kids still want to go back next year!

Great Getaway

The property was perfect for our 4th of July getaway. We wanted something quiet where our 8 year old would be able to enjoy the beach while our infant napped during the day and this property definitely allowed for that. The water was a little murky at the beginning of our stay but cleared by the end although I highly suggest water shoes for wading in as there are lots of rocks and the water is very shallow. The listing was mostly accurate and there was plenty of space for the four of us and being able to cook in the kitchen was a big plus. There were a couple of things I would suggest keeping in mind though - there is no washer/dryer which we had planned to use and so we ended up hand washing things in the tub and buying a couple of things in town. Also - the mattress in the main bedroom could definitely stand to be replaced - it wasn't very comfortable and sunk in a lot. Lastly, the listing mentioned a Kayak/Canoe "available for rentals" which we thought meant would be available for those staying in the rentals but actually meant for an additional cost per the book of info that was in the living room - it seemed very pricy and we didn't end up using them because of it. Our kiddo was a bit disappointed over that but loved all of the great rocks for skipping at the beach.
