Log Cabin on the Current River

3 bed 2 bath cabin on the Current River just north of Doniphan, MO. There is a private boat ramp and dock. The property is on 20 acres surrounded by Mark Twain National Forest!
This is the perfect place to disconnect from phones, and internet for a few days! YES, we are a fully unplugged, technology free vacation spot!
Enjoy fishing, boating, swimming, kayaking, hiking, reconnect with family and friends or just simply RELAX and let the river wash your worries away!
We do recommend a 4WD or AWD vehicle to get to the property.
There are local watering holes and restaurants approximately 25 minutes away for a night out and a break from cooking!

Excellent!

Our stay was fantastic! The location is amazing. What a view! Plenty of stuff to do on the river! Very relaxing. We had planned going rafting, but decided to just stay in, relax and enjoy ourselves! The house has everything and more! Definitely a very unique place and a destination to return to!

Beautiful property on the Current River

We had an amazing time. The only drawback was the ride in. We got lost and almost got stuck on the last hill to the cabin. You MUST have a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get in and out!! The cabin is gorgeous inside and out. Very well stocked. We felt right at home. The docks out back are perfect. The fire pit was perfect and the scenery couldn’t be any better. We wish we had stayed longer.

Amazing river cabin

My group had an amazing stay, 3 nights in total. 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, and plenty of room. Plenty of unlisted amenities such as a large ice maker, water equipment, ect. That make the stay even better! Would love to stay again next year

Parents Weekend Away

We are a group of parents with a weekend away! Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place for some R&R! No service is the perfect opportunity to disconnect and connect with those who surround you! That ice machine deserves a gold medal! The hospitality is out of this world. I hope our group returns for many years! Thank you for sharing your home with the world! A true river paradise!

The perfect place to unplug. Social media and politics have been eating us alive and this trip allowed us to truly get away from it all! The home has everything you need and more! If you are looking to be off the grid and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the river, this is your place!

This property is truly amazing. The pictures do not do it any justice! The amenities were greatly appreciated-it included everything you needed and more. As stated in other reviews, 4W drive is highly recommended. Very peaceful, and the views were breathtaking!

Wonderfully disconnected

We all needed a few days away from everything and this place was the perfect medicine. No cell service or WiFi forced the few that are a little too attached to the internet, to just enjoy nature and family time. The house was absolutely amazing and felt like home. The river was beautiful as usual and the gravel bar was a perfect place to spend the week. Thank you so much and we will definitely be back!!!

Your accommodations were amazing. Everything we needed. However no radio that we could find. Also you should always use a 4 wheeldrive to get to location of the cabin. It takes hour to get to town. So bring everything you want to eat and drink. Also lifejackets are necessary if wanting to get into water at cabin.

Short Vacation

This cabin is absolutely perfect!!! It has everything you would, or could, possibly think of! It was very clean, spacious, and accommodating. It is a great place for a reset and getaway from reality, so peaceful and serene. The owner is very responsive, and was available if we needed her. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely book again.

Fantastic place!!!!

Absolutely stunning cabin. Well stocked with tons of extras you would not get at another rental property. We are already checking calendars to see when we can stay again. Strongly suggest four wheel drive as some of the gravel roads get a little rough. Cannot say enough amazing things about this place.

Wonderful retreat. Like a hunting/fishing lodge right on the river. Got stuck trying to go up a gravel hill on the property while pulling a small boat with my truck.

Best equipped vacation home I have ever seen.

Definitely on country gravel roads, somewhat gamey in spots, but the end result is worth it. Family girls’ trip. Beautiful setting. Too early in season to get in the river. But wow! What a spot! Just beautiful. The cabin, built with local timber, is extraordinary. We will go back!

Eclipse 2024 weekend

This is beautiful setting on the Current River. The log home is fully equipped and lacks for very little. You are certainly not "roughing it". The only down side is the drive in and out. Rough roads through the woods! Wouldn't want to do it after dark the first time.

Perfect hidden gem

We're a family of river rats and this place right on the water was perfect for us. The clear, cool water was standing depth almost across the whole river and was great to hash out in with the kids. The house was very nice and has everything you need, including a nice break from cell and Wi-Fi service.

Wonderfull place

This cabin was amazing and beautiful. Very secluded which is what we were looking for. Very spacious and clean. The host left very detailed instructions and history of the cabin. It has all the amenities of being at home. This was a family Vacation and we all loved it and did not want to leave.

Girls weekend

This was one of the best properties I’ve ever stayed in! I was remote and ride on the river. The cabin is absolutely adorable and very clean. It was perfect for a girls weekend away. We absolutely love this place and we are already planning on coming back!

Cabin on the Current River

This spacious log cabin on the Current River was a great place to reconnect with friends. It was quiet, secluded and very peaceful. We enjoyed sitting on the rustic front porch in the daytime and built a campfire in the evening with the sound of the ever-flowing river nearby. The cabin was comfortable and well-stocked with everything we needed for an enjoyable mini-vacation. It will be especially beautiful in a couple of weeks when the leaves become more colorful. We will likely return next year, but highly recommend four-wheel drive!
