3 bed 2 bath cabin on the Current River just north of Doniphan, MO. There is a private boat ramp and dock. The property is on 20 acres surrounded by Mark Twain National Forest!
This is the perfect place to disconnect from phones, and internet for a few days! YES, we are a fully unplugged, technology free vacation spot!
Enjoy fishing, boating, swimming, kayaking, hiking, reconnect with family and friends or just simply RELAX and let the river wash your worries away!
We do recommend a 4WD or AWD vehicle to get to the property.
There are local watering holes and restaurants approximately 25 minutes away for a night out and a break from cooking!

This is our third year staying at the house. We love the house, love the location, love the rock Beach. The last 30 minutes of your drive is a gravel road and there’s zero service so for people looking to unplug this location is for you! My husband and I went with four other couples and we are all parents so we had a nice relaxing weekend on the river. The house had everything we needed. We look forward to returning next year!

The property was awesome. The water was up so we didn’t do much the first couple days. Once it went down the kids had a blast and the fishing was good. Almost no traffic on the water. A few jet boats and 3 kayaks all week. The seclusion was great. The phone didn’t work for the first 3 days but we didn’t really need it. Everything else was awesome. Will definitely go back for another vacation.

This property is truly amazing. The pictures do not do it any justice! The amenities were greatly appreciated-it included everything you needed and more. As stated in other reviews, 4W drive is highly recommended. Very peaceful, and the views were breathtaking!

The perfect place to unplug. Social media and politics have been eating us alive and this trip allowed us to truly get away from it all! The home has everything you need and more! If you are looking to be off the grid and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the river, this is your place!

Wonderfull place

This cabin was amazing and beautiful. Very secluded which is what we were looking for. Very spacious and clean. The host left very detailed instructions and history of the cabin. It has all the amenities of being at home. This was a family Vacation and we all loved it and did not want to leave.

Amazing winter sisters weekend!

Great communication and directions. 4wd is pretty important to get out because of some steep hills. Best if you arrive before dark (we didn’t-totally our fault)-but the directions make a lot more sense in the light. Print or screenshot directions because cell service gets spotty in the town. We loved the cabin and the property!! Very remote and removed. Spent so much time just watching and listening to the river. Plus we saw 2 bald eagles fly by both mornings we were there.

Awesome Place!

This place was exactly what my family and I needed and we all had a great time! I don't think I have stayed at a place where the owners are so giving and friendly. The location right on the river is amazing. There is a small calm area where my 9 year old was able to take the kayak out in, there are plenty of great fishing spots very close to the cabin, and the cabin is very nice and clean. Amazing place and we will definitely return. Its not really an easy place to get to but the owners provide pretty detailed directions. The last part of the rock road is definitely pretty rough so you want to make sure and drive an appropriate vehicle. We will definitely stay at this place again!

Beautiful river log cabin

Pictures really don’t do the cabin justice. It is right on the water, but up a steep hill so no flood worries. Not on a gravel bar but from the swim dock you can wade/swim to a gravel bar Just about 8 yards out, plus there’s a little slough right next to the frontage. I worried about the cabin being big enough for 8 of us but it was no problem, it has 2 bedrooms plus a large loft and two bathrooms. Lots of nice little touches — shampoo/conditioner plus regular and men’s body wash, two grills, a popcorn machine (we kept meaning to use it but never got around to it!), pantry items like seasonings, oil, salt, flour etc. Drinking coffee on the porch each morning was my favorite thing about the place. Take the recommendation for 4 wheel drive seriously— there are about 10 miles of gravel and the last 1/4 mile is Rough! Our friends in a traverse had trouble getting out. Highly recommend, we all agreed we’d like to go back!

New Year by the River

Wow! What an amazing winter family getaway. We love traveling with our kids to new and adventurous places and I know this is already one of those good memories. The views are breathtaking and the sound of the river soothes your soul. The cabin was spotless and well stocked. Everyone had a comfortable space to relax. We enjoyed coffee and hot cocoa on the porch overlooking the river in the morning, fishing in the afternoon, and family games around the table after dinner. This is a very remote (well at least it felt like it to this city girl) location. The directions used landmarks and were very detailed so we made it with no problems. I do recommend driving there during daylight hours. And the 4x4 is a must! My husbands truck had no problems. There really is no cell service out there and it made my kids unplug the whole time. Every once in a while my phone connected and pushed through email and texts so I just shut it off. We can’t wait to return in the summer!

Amazing weekend getaway!

This cabin was absolutely stunning ! And the host Ms.Lindsey was very attentive, answered all our questions and gave us some tips on where to float the current river at , places to eat and shop. The location was perfect! When it says off the beaten path , it definitely is. Lots of gravel roads to get to the cabin , so word of advice.....don't worry about having a clean car , because by the time you get there your car will be dusty. But with that being said , once you get to the cabin a dusty car will be well worth it! Some reviews I read said you'd need a 4x4 to get there but we didn't, we had a Tahoe and land Rover without 4-wheel drives , neither vehicle had any problems getting in or out. The cabin sits on a hill just above it current river,the views are breathtaking to say the least. There's a dock just below the cabin to fish , swim or to just hang out and listen to the rippling sounds of the river passing by. The cabin was amazing , very clean and up to date decor. It has everything you need to to cook , everything even spices. We used the pellet grill , which was awesome! They even had the pellets there for the grill too. The laundry room has everything you need to wash your clothes , laundry detergent , fabric softener and fabric sheets plus more. The cabin has kayaks , a lily pad for the water , fishing poles and tons of movies to watch being there isn't tv service or WiFi. Yes I know no cell service at all but that made it even better. It gave us a total disconnect from the everyday life and that it's self was amazing! The 6 beds were very comfortable, in1st room was a king bed , the 2nd room had 2 , I think we're queens possibly full size the 3rd room in the loft had a queen and 2 twins. The cabin simply felt as if we were at home , so relaxing! And honestly the pictures doesn't do it justice , it's so much better in person. The only problem we had was........ Leaving to go home , but we've already booked to stay again😎😊 I definitely recommend this cabin to anyone, you won't regret it! Thank you Ms.Lindsey for sharing your beautiful cabin with us! If I could rate my stay with a 10 , I definitely would!

Cabin was great. Had plenty of room. Deck was nice for the evening to relax after being on the river all day. Kitchen was stocked with everything you will need for your stay. Basement was nice for storage. Ice machine was so nice to have. Especially for the long river days. Great stay would definitely stay again. Nice place to unplug for a few days.

Beautiful location

The cabin and views of the river were amazing. There was not a good spot to swim for our kids, it’s definitely more for if you have a boat. Also the walk from the cabin to the river was so steep my parents and kids had a hard time going up and down it.

Wonderful

We had an amazing stay at this cabin! I was highly impressed with how stocked the cabin is. It has literally anything and everything you could need. If you are looking for a get away from society this is the place. The river was very high so we weren’t able to enjoy the water like we would have liked too. Our children are 13, 11, and 8 - with the current and how high the water was we weren’t comfortable with them safely swimming in front of the house right off of the dock but we did find a more shallow spot down the river after we explored the area. We LOVED being “off grid” it was the perfect weekend escape with no phones or internet! We would absolutely book this cabin again. Exceptional!!!

Beautifully Serene

The cabin was so beautiful and peaceful. We truly enjoyed being "off grid" no cell phone service or wifi. The cabin felt so homey and very well stocked. Gorgeous views, great fishing right outside the front door. The only issue we encountered was that the gate didn't open for us and we had to pull the pin to get in, but worked fine on the way out. We will most definitely be repeat customers!

Excellent!

Our stay was fantastic! The location is amazing. What a view! Plenty of stuff to do on the river! Very relaxing. We had planned going rafting, but decided to just stay in, relax and enjoy ourselves! The house has everything and more! Definitely a very unique place and a destination to return to!
