A private newly remodeled four bedroom home located within the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Perfect for an unplugged getaway or outdoor adventure. The historical Wind River Ranger District is a unique combination of open meadows and forested slopes. Enjoy a morning hike on the Pacific Crest Trail located with a mile of the house, take a afternoon stroll through the Wind River Arboretum then unwind over dinner at the local family friendly brew pub located just 15 minutes away. The Columbia Gorge is home to endless outdoor recreation fun!

The cabin was comfortable, sheets were clean, and the location was beautiful. Unfortunately the floors were not clean and I had to buy a broom and cleaner to make it habitable. There were quite a few living and dead spiders and other insects. We did enjoy our stay.

Loved this VRBO. traveled with friends. Big rooms, huge kitchen stocked ok, comfy furniture and beds, quiet at night. Rangers surveying their property across dead end drive were only people we saw. Beautiful views and plants. Arboretum walk was interesting but needs some updating. Viewed millions of stars at night and played games (no TV). Decent internet.

Check in process was extremely easy. The entire upstairs was infested with bed bugs. Immediately send a message to the host. There was no response from host.

Great location on a quiet street for kids to enjoy running around. Lots of trails nearby. Love the views out the front windows. Kitchen could use a few more essentials. Grocery store is not close so stock up before settling in. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will be back.

I wish I could give a better review but I must be honest. Check in was a breeze. The price was right. The location was very nice, surrounded by dense forest and opposite a beautiful meadow. If you like solitude, this is the place. It’s the last house on a road that ends a hundred feet at the trailhead. The beds were very comfortable and the furnishings though basic and sparse were accommodating.The place was clean but flys were present and the dishwasher had not been emptied. The kitchen was bare bones. If one were planning to prepare a meal there they would find it wanting. There are no floor coverings and the place echos like a cave. The toilet seat was attached by only one bolt and swung wildly. There were plenty of towels and washcloths but no soap. The washer did not work. I’ve stayed in many VRBOs and I have always given high marks for those experiences. I’m sorry that I can’t do so here.

Beautiful Stay

This was a great location for my family of 4 and my mother. The house was clean and has a beautiful view! Things to note- there is no wifi or TV but plenty of cell service. We would stay here again!

Great place to stay to explore the area

We enjoyed the natural setting and quiet area and it was a great jumping off point for exploring the Carson and greater Columbia Gorge area. Wish we had even more time to stay and explore! We rented the two houses in the area and this worked very well for our small group - everyone was very comfortable and we were all able to gather in the larger house for meals. The houses are restored very nicely!

Cozy retreat close to trails

My coworkers and I stayed at this very comfortable home for 2 nights. We had plenty of space both to ourselves and to mingle with each other. The home is close to trails and a great launching point for exploring Gifford Pinchot.

Base for our family

We loved this house and its location. The house was clean and just what were looking for as a base for our family during our son's wedding in Cascade Locks. Loved the area around the house and the history of this location. I hope we can make it back to stay again when we have more time to enjoy the area.
