RELAX and ENJOY! This newly renovated home is a vacation and fisherman's paradise!
Enjoy one of the most spectacular waterfront views in Florida, directly on the St. Johns River, within the Ocala National Forest! Watch the sun rise from your dock. See owls, hummingbirds, deer and manatee in your own back yard. Pristine natural beauty abounds in all directions while you have every amenity in your own private home.

With 270 feet of waterfront, this three-bedroom two bath house is lovely, bright, clean, and ready for the perfect getaway experience. We’re right in the center of an untouched boating, fishing, & swimming paradise.

Just south of Astor, FL, we’re located 30 minutes from Ormond/Daytona Beaches, 60 minutes from Disney/Universal Studios or historic St. Augustine. The house is nicely furnished with a full kitchen and washer/dryer. There is a complete A/V system including satellite TV, DVR, High-speed Wi-fi and computer . You can sleep 6-8 people very comfortably.

Probably one of the most relaxing properties we’ve rented. Owners responded right away. Everything was beautiful. Not one thing we needed that we didn’t find. Definitely planning a return visit with family. What a blessing to be able to experience “real” Florida, away from the hustle and bustle!

Amazing location

House location was perfect for a family with a boat. Property was clean and probably the best stocked rental we've ever rented. The additional nature surprises we received out the icing on the cake. From baby alligators to manatees it was a great experience.

This is a great house to stay in, especially if you like to be in nature. Nicely stocked. Most places dont stock as well as they do for this one. They even put together a book of info on hiking and trails and more. You can fish right off the dock. And they have a canoe. You will see gators for sure. And manatees as well. Great place to kick back and relax!

Perfect Escape

A friend and I met for a relaxing weekend. The back porch and lounge chairs are perfect for mornings enjoying coffee and the river. The quality of the linens, pillows, and bedding were appreciated. The kitchen was week-equipped and the water pressure was great.

Always great staying here! Ive been coming here for years and it never disappoints! House has just what we always need, and is situated with a nice view of the river! Quiet, and peaceful, Love the screened porch! Lots of wildlife!

Peaceful and beautiful

The backyard is the prefect hangout. The view of the river is mesmerizing. Bonfires and wildlife with cozy house makes for such a memorable vacation

Great house on the river!

Clean, spacious, well stocked. We used the king bed and it was very comfortable. We loved the back screened in patio. Highly recommend!

Spotless and beautiful home away from home

The home was spotless and very inviting. The kitchen was very user friendly. We cooked outside one night and due to rain, we cooked and ate inside one night. Water views of the river, especially at sunrise were spectacular! The home included satellite tv but no cable stations. We would absolutely stay here again!

Solitude was abundant

Only disappointment was the water was not fishable due to vegetation which was not shown in online photos. Otherwise an enjoyable place, pleasant surroundings and very responsive hosts.

Frank and Gina Walker live in DeLand, FL, which is about thirty minutes away. We met at Stetson University, had to move away for work for twenty years but returned to this beautiful area about ten years ago. We have four grown children.
We clean our rental home ourselves and try to ensure that every family enjoys their stay as much as we have enjoyed it with our own family!

Astor is precious, a secluded bit of untouched Florida, which is difficult to find these days! The air is fresh from the river. A few days in the sunshine can calm the spirit!

The River House is south of downtown, far from the noise of the bridge traffic. To the north and south, on the river, are small islands that create privacy and calm the boat traffic. The river in our area is wide, and a state refuge runs on the opposite bank, so the view offers natural Florida at its best!
