RELAX and ENJOY! This newly renovated home is a vacation and fisherman's paradise!
Enjoy one of the most spectacular waterfront views in Florida, directly on the St. Johns River, within the Ocala National Forest! Watch the sun rise from your dock. See owls, hummingbirds, deer and manatee in your own back yard. Pristine natural beauty abounds in all directions while you have every amenity in your own private home.

With 270 feet of waterfront, this three-bedroom two bath house is lovely, bright, clean, and ready for the perfect getaway experience. We’re right in the center of an untouched boating, fishing, & swimming paradise.

Just south of Astor, FL, we’re located 30 minutes from Ormond/Daytona Beaches, 60 minutes from Disney/Universal Studios or historic St. Augustine. The house is nicely furnished with a full kitchen and washer/dryer. There is a complete A/V system including satellite TV, DVR, High-speed Wi-fi and computer . You can sleep 6-8 people very comfortably.

Great place to stay in this neck of the woods. Close to several of our beautiful springs. Views of the river are awesome. Would definitely stay again if we travel this way again.

Great house on the river!

Clean, spacious, well stocked. We used the king bed and it was very comfortable. We loved the back screened in patio. Highly recommend!

Astor river house

Had a great time at the Astor house on St. John’s river. House had everything we needed. We took the boat out everyday and had a very relaxing vacation. The owner responded to any questions promptly and offered additional suggestions. We hope to stay there again.

Great place, too short of stay!

This place along the river exceeded expectations, we just wanted a place to stop by this part of Florida for two nights and we wished it was 4! Great sunrise across the water and the manatees munching out by the dock in the afternoon. It had everything we needed in the cupboards. The Springs nearby are very pretty. Even ate some pancakes at the Sugar Mill, really great experience!

River House

If you like peace and quiet, this is the place for you. A well outfitted, comfortable river house with great hosts, friendly neighbors and abundant wildlife. This is the kind of place you’d like to keep to yourself because it’s that good. The river is mesmerizing. I really hope my travels bring me back around this way again.

Great for nature lovers

Such a relaxing place to stay. The view of the river is breathtaking. The backyard is lovely with plenty of shade. (Great Horned Owls visited in the evening) We stayed 2 nights and never left the property. The kitchen is well equipped for anything you'd like to cook. We made all our own meals and used the outside grill as well. Very clean, private and well maintained. Hope to go back again soon.

Wonderful Riverfront House for Nature Lovers

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic house perfectly situated by the river. The location is a true paradise for nature enthusiasts. Right at the house, we observed alligator gar, manatees, alligators, ospreys, and owls. Just a two-minute walk from the house, we even spotted a black bear and a wild boar. The house itself is spacious and equipped with everything one might need for a comfortable stay. Gina and Frank were easily reachable and extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking to immerse themselves in nature while enjoying all the comforts of home.

Absolutely incredible home and river front property

wow. The property location was simply stunning. Great location on riverside, lots of trees, shade, privacy and views of the river. The screened porch to sit on, the dock on the river, the picnic table in a perfect spot with a view and shade. Just stunning. We used the canoe 3 times and went out on the river. The boat traffic was in the specified channel that was on the other side of the river from the house which made it quieter for us and for the canoe but was fun to see the boats go by. Not much boat traffic anyway, was a quiet real wild Florida river experience. House was super comfortable and well appointed and we used the fridge, kitchen to heat up meals, etc. A+ house and location. We would love to stay again.

Location, location, location

We really enjoyed our weekend getaway and had some great family time together. The weather was rainy for most of our stay but that didn't affect us too much. The view was fantastic and we loved being able to spend time on the screened patio to enjoy it. There was a really nice cross breeze there as well which I would imagine is nice for cooling off in hotter weather. We had everything we needed, the house was clean and comfortable, and we appreciated the comfortable beds as well. We also appreciated being able to bring our dog because she's family too! We did find it difficult to watch some on demand TV as we repeatedly got an error after every few minutes of viewing but we had a workaround. We had brought our laptop and set up a mobile hotspot on my phone to the laptop which we connected to the TV with the HDMI cable they provide. Just wanted to share that in case it is of any help to future guests. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your home and make some family memories. :)

Frank and Gina Walker live in DeLand, FL, which is about thirty minutes away. We met at Stetson University, had to move away for work for twenty years but returned to this beautiful area about ten years ago. We have four grown children.
We clean our rental home ourselves and try to ensure that every family enjoys their stay as much as we have enjoyed it with our own family!

Astor is precious, a secluded bit of untouched Florida, which is difficult to find these days! The air is fresh from the river. A few days in the sunshine can calm the spirit!

The River House is south of downtown, far from the noise of the bridge traffic. To the north and south, on the river, are small islands that create privacy and calm the boat traffic. The river in our area is wide, and a state refuge runs on the opposite bank, so the view offers natural Florida at its best!
