Welcome to our rustic 1800s home located in the heart of New York's beautiful Hudson River Valley. This house was commissioned as an official historic home in the quaint village of Chester, NY. Tucked away in some trees atop a small hill, it is centrally located close to the Hudson Valley's popular destinations: Woodbury Commons, West Point, Brotherhood Winery, and more! Return to our comfortable getaway after shopping, hiking, and exploring all that the Hudson Valley has to offer.

Our house is filled with a historic ambiance and classic interior designs. The guest rooms have rustic wood floors and traditional fireplaces that bring you back in time, while new queen-sized beds and furnishings make for a comfortable and cozy stay. A brand new heating/AC system keeps each room at the temperature of your choosing. Stay connected with high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the house.

What a wonderfully perfect home for our West Point graduation crew! It was a mere 25 minutes from West Point! The rooms were cozy and perfect. Some helpful hints for a better stay: bring extra towels as there is only one towel provided per person. Kitchen is ready for cooking and gathering. There is plenty of room for all guests. The house is charming! Highly recommend for any West Point function!

Girls night away

Our group of friends found that this house was perfect for our overnight wine trip. It was in a great location and was the perfect space for everyone to hang out.

A lovely space for a big group

The house was lovely, quiet, and very peaceful. We had a big group (8) and we all fit very comfortably without being on top of one another. We appreciated the charms of the house and would definitely stay again when in the area!

The house was amazing. It was a very beautiful home with comfortable beds for everyone in our party. We had 13 ladies come up for the weekend to celebrate my daughter's 40th birthday, and we all had a wonderful weekend. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had. The home has a great living room for all of us to play games and hang out together. They have a circular driveway, so plenty of parking for all our cars. I would highly recommend this house if you are in the area.

Perfect size

The house was beautiful and the perfect size for my group. The hosts were communicative and easy to reach. The historical house has some quirks, but they make it more charming. It's a great distance from several state parks. Highly recommend this place for people visiting Harriman or Bear Mountain.

Family wedding

We all came from all over; CA, CO, PA and Germany. What a great place for all of us to be together for our nieces wedding. Christy and Josh are awesome hosts and made this trip unforgettable. Can’t thank them enough!

The photos and descriptions led us to expect a much nicer house than we got. The home was described as historic - and it was - but not a well preserved historic home. The house smelled musty, wallpaper in some rooms was peeling … it was just not as nicely kept as we had hoped. On the plus side, however, there was good internet service, and the homeowner was responsive when contacted.

Great Location

We went up for short visit with several family friends. It was comfortable for all of us . We went in to visit West Point for a tour and then a football game. I asked for a dinner recommendation that would work for our large group and it was a hit. Thank you to the host for a very good recommendation. It was a nice stay. We agreed that if our group of 10 people went back we would certainly be willing to stay here.

Very Unique Old Home

Really great house with a lot of character. Plenty of room for 10 adults. It was great hanging out on the deck or around the fire pit at night.

Family reunion stay

For our purposes it was a great location, outside property could have used some yard work. Had difficulty figuring out how to use one of bathroom lights, had planned for 14 people only had 7. Some bedrooms not good for taller people.

Stay in Chester

This house is clean and deceivingly huge. My friends and I stayed here while in the area for a wedding and our group of 8 adults fit very comfortably. Despite it being an old house, everything worked great and we were very happy with our stay.

West Point weekend stay

We came to visit our cadet for the long Easter weekend. This house was built in 1770, which is pretty cool, however it does show it’s age in places inside.....kitchen and baths are updated, very functional and clean. Many beds and bedrooms so able to sleep a lot of people. Only about 20 minutes from West Point, so great for families visiting cadets. The owner was very friendly, came and showed us around the property on our arrival, was very communicative and easy to work with.

Spacious historic getaway perfect for large group

We loved staying at this house. There were plenty of bedrooms and lots of space on the property to hang out. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook meals for all. We used this house as a jumping off point to explore breweries, wineries and cideries in the area. Although it wasn't too close to any of these in particular, it was fairly centrally located between a bunch of Upstate NY activities. Can confirm that the house is definitely historic, as the description suggests, and we enjoyed the spooky experience of arriving at night and having to explore the dark house trying to turn all the lights on.
