Thank you for the 5 start review! The property really is something amazing. I am so sorry I didn’t explain that the top floor has a separate cooling system and can be set to compensate for all the glass doors! The remaining two window coverings are on order. We do have screens for all of the doors, but only put them on in a couple areas as we feel that it impedes the view a bit. Perhaps we’ll put them on a couple on the top floor so it can be opened up further. Especially sorry that we took a booking for the same month next year, as we didn’t know there was an interest…. My apologies. Thank you for the feedback. It helps us continue to make our place even better!

Oh my goodness. In 23 years of owning a vacation rental, this was only the 2nd time I had to keep any security deposit. This was my worst experience to date. The original guests were wonderful for the first two weeks they were there. Unfortunately, at some point they entrusted their adult children and their friends to stay at the house and went home. The neighbors did call twice. Once to let me know there were 7 cars in the street and loud obnoxious behavior including profanity and the guests urinating in the yard. The second call was to report trash blowing around from 14 overflowing containers and bags of trash left behind. I am uncertain what is meant by exorbitant fees. The damages were in excess of $3000. I only asked them to forfeit their $1000 security deposit to pay for a list of damages to the property, not for breaking the rules. I did call the guest directly to discuss the damages prior to reporting to VRBO, rather than withholding the security deposit through VRBO without communicating. We do have 2 security cameras on the exterior of the house, that do not cover the pool area. The cameras are not monitored or checked unless there’s a problem. All of our communications clearly state no more than 2 cars and no more than 8 persons in the house. There is no hidden agenda. We would much rather not share the house, than have this situation. We love sharing our house with responsible people. It is an exclusive experience and not intended for the type of group that disregards most all of the rules and common respect for both the property and the neighbors.
