Looking for your perfect little get-a-way? Starlit nights and fun-filled days await you in historic Virginia City. Cozy yet fully equipped, delightfully furnished, guest cabin with living room with sleeper sofa, sleeping loft, kitchenette, small dining area and full bath. A separate bedroom offers a private 3/4 bath, it's own covered porch and a second sleeping loft. Full-light French doors lead from the living/kitchen to a private second shaded porch - perfect for a morning cup of coffee, afternoon rest or evening glass of wine and sunset. Beautiful perennial gardens, outdoor seating and gas fire-pit await your exploration and enjoyment. Birds welcome you with singing. It is pretty special, we think!
History abounds on this c.1890 C.W. Rank House property listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Just a few minutes walking distance to the quaint yet lively downtown historic Virginia City playhouse, Brewery Follies or locally homemade ice cream and candies! The Thompson-Hickman Memorial Library and Museum is just steps through the back gate.

This property was perfect for our "girl time" together (3 of ua)! The easy walk to town, beautiful backyard gardens, and canine "hostess" Juni B were much appreciated "bonuses"! This small cabin is very well stocked with all the necessary items and we would definitely choose to stay again. One note of caution: if you are in any way compromised in walking or movement the two loft areas (with double beds?) might not be for you.

Comforting Oasis

You'll not want to leave the backyard. The back porch looks over beautiful flowerbeds, landscaping, and large trees, which provide ample shade throughout the day.

Peaceful get away

Exceeded our expectations. The place provides so much “bang for your buck”. Was super clean, larger than it looks, fresh coffee with cream in the fridge. Very quiet. The landscaping and porch swing & rocking chairs on the back porch were delightful. Hosts were friendly, kind, & accommodating. Would definitely stay again!

We enjoyed staying at the cabin. It was very comfortable and inviting…..charming. It was neat and clean. Everything we needed was there. Fresh flowers from the yard…nice touch.I enjoyed having my coffee outside on the porch while enjoying the beautiful landscape and listening to the birds chirping.Pat made us granola for early morning breakfast. She also made us rhubarb streusel after she picked the rhubarb from her garden. Mark and Pat were great hosts. Always available if we needed anything, but not intrusive.

Cozy, comfortable home for the weekend

We had a wonderful time at this little cabin, which was surprisingly spacious with 2 loft beds, two bathrooms, and a well-stocked kitchen. The porch was lovely for warm afternoons, and the fireplace was cozy when it got chilly. Highly recommend.

The Perfect Getaway

We loved our stay in this cozy cabin nestled in this quaint mountain village. The cabin was pristine clean, warm, had all the amenities we needed, the host was accommodating and welcoming. The area was quiet and the sky was beaming with bright stars. We highly recommend this cabin as a fantastic weekend getaway.

Don't miss this place!

First, we urge you to visit Virginia City, MT. It's a charming little town with a surprisingly large number of shops and dining options. More importantly, stay at The Rank House when you are there. It's a fabulous VRBO options and excels in every area. It's even better than the photos show. It is extremely clean, comfortable and has every extra VRBO guests deserve. Pat, our gracious host, greeted us on arrival, offered outstanding dining suggestions (Wells Fargo for dinner and The Star for breakfast) and gave us a history of the town. Do yourself a favor – visit Virginia City and stay at the Rank House.

Great cabin!

Such a cute little cabin within walking distance to town. It was such a treat to stay here after a week in the national parks; wish I had booked it for more nights! Everything you could need was available and the host was a delight! She brought over homemade cookies for our children and left us yogurt and milk for them as well. Her pup even found a small stuffed toy that we were certain we had lost!! Really enjoyed sitting on the back porch swing at night just relaxing while the kids enjoyed the beautifully landscaped yard. Would love to visit again if we’re ever in the area!

Wonderful place!

Lovely comfortable cabin close to the historic district. My favorite things: the porch swing and Junie Bee, the hosts’ lab. I would definitely stay here again.

Awesome place to stay!

The host met us with a warm plate of cookies when we showed up! There's a back deck with a porch swing and chairs to enjoy the very well kept flower beds in the back yard. Nice warm showers, comfortable beds.

This is probably the nicest place to stay in Virginia City. Very clean, cozy and comfortable. Mark made us feel right at home. Would stay here again in a heart beat.

A Wonderful Experience

What a wonderful guest cabin!!! …providing beautiful accommodations including a comfy bed, fully equipped kitchen… Especially like the instructions to make French Press Coffee (as I have never made before… It’s delicious), beautiful gardens, serene indoor and outdoor sitting to call home for a couple of days!! Easy to find, parking safe no full service grocery stores nearby so if you want to barbecue or cook a lot shop before you get there. Though we arrived on Labor Day and most activities in Virginia City and Nevada City were closed for the season, we still were able to walk the boardwalks, eat at the Wells Fargo Steakhouse (omg-great steaks), Bob's pizza and in Nevada City, the Star Restaurant for Breakfast and a Wonderful candy shop and unique local art and antique shops too....It is truly an awesome unique and comfortable lodging for us longing to experience the days of long ago, with the comforts of today....
