An excellent holiday in this wonderful home. Everything was as described & the house has all the facilities you could need. The pool was excellent, and the house managers ensured they kept it running as we needed it throughout the week. The village is brilliant - and what you can't get in the village is available nearby. The wine tasting at the various Châteaux is not to be missed. The house was brilliant for our group 7 adults and 1 child and there was enough space for us all to be able to spread out and have our own space as and when we needed it. A fantastic holiday!

A fantastic property in a beautiful location. The house was well-equipped and had everything we could possibly have needed. Really easy to ‘check in’, very clean and the pool was wonderful! We had a fantastic stay.

Fantastic stay

Really enjoyed our time at the house for a wedding at the local chateau. The house is huge and the pool is fantastic!

A perfect spacious home and great pool

We had a fantastic time! The house is spacious and very well equipped, we enjoyed the BBQ, the pool and having a local baker for morning bread. Highly recommended and we hope to be back!

Lovely property - superb pool

Enormous property with beautiful heated private pool and comfortable bedrooms. We couldn’t believe how spacious it was. Lovely peaceful setting just minutes walk from the village cafe, boulangerie and restaurant. Also a short drive to lots of other local attractions. The hosts couldn’t have been more helpful.

We booked this home in Ginestas with the understanding per the advertised listing of the home (see photo), the "entire home" as it was noted pictorially on the VRBO description for the rental. We also originally reserved the property noting we would have 11 people which we ultimately reduced down to 9 people. The owner charged an additional fee of 180 as an extra guest fee even though the property advertises 6 bedroom, and even though we came with two less people than initially noted.When we arrived, the kitchen refrigerator had an incredibly foul odor and the kitchen was marginally clean to the point I felt it necessary to rewash glasses. I also cleaned the refrigerator in attempt to reduce the sour odor, cleaned the stove as well as both coffee pots, and wiped the food particles off of the stove and microwave dials. The utensil drawer also had food crumbs in it. We then discovered two guest rooms had no sheets, pillow cases or towels. We again reached out to the owner about bedding and towels after which the property manager later came to the property bringing with both baking soda/vinegar for the refrigerator. The property manager said beds were made up with linens for 9 guests. I apparently had missed an emailed request to select rooms (we have been traveling for 5 weeks and I have been skimming rather than fullly resting email). We told the property manager the unmade guest room should be made up given we paid for an entire home rental also stating it

In 25 years of renting this guest proved unique. The guest never bothered to read the VRBO entries on pricing and conditions. Repeated emails and instructions were sent (and documented) to ensure everything was ready to the guest requirements were simply ignored "because it is difficult to maintain communication whilst travelling". Some of the emails had been sent a month earlier. I sent round my housekeeper at once when contacted She has worked for me for many years and received many guest compliments. There was no smell. and not other guest has ever complained of glasses needing washing or other such issues. Upon departure the keys were left in the wrong place, again, the guest to simply ignored instructions. I undertsand that this guest was rude, bordering on the aggressive, to my housekeeper, and simply refused to acknowledge proof of correctly described policies and emails that are proven to have been sent. This was an unfortunate expereince that stands out form numerous successful rentings, and hopefully one not to be repeated.

Fantastic week in the beautiful village of Ginestas. The house was truly amazing. Plenty of space for everyone; more bathrooms than you can ever need; good quality fixtures and fitting; topped off by the private pool.

Beautiful house in charming French village

We had a wonderful stay at Mark's house in Ginestas. The house is beautiful, with original features, very clean and it has a great pool that the whole family enjoyed. Ginestas itself is a lovely, typically French village with a range of facilities and not far from the coast and larger towns. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Fabulous spacious house, beautiful pool.

Stunning property! The pool was fab! Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Comfy beds. Peaceful location in small town - plenty of interesting places to visit in surrounding area. The casino bar/restaurant in the town is amazing! We had a wonderful time. Thank you Mark!

Lovely stay!

Great size of property with enough space for everyone. The pool is a great size and a great way to cool down. The area doesnt have much for children but we had two hire cars for 8 of us and everywhere was driveable. Lovely day trip to Carcassonne, Peyrepeteuse Castle, Aquajet water park and loads more. Enjoy your stay :)

Fabulous stay in Ginestas

We have had a glorious stay at Mark's place in Ginestas. Booking and communications with the owner were first rate. The house exceeded all expectations - it is truly beautiful. Wonderful location, absolutely beautiful property and a brilliant pool and gardens. It had absolutely everything we needed and more. Truly outstanding in every respect.

Clean; well provided; old house with character but all mod cons and decor; the yard and pool had plenty of seating and loungers: the pool was a good size and heated. Perfect

Amazing house, fabulous pool

Beautiful, spacious house with ample accommodation for our party of 9. Lots of original features and a pool to die for, especially in an August heatwave. Great location for exploring the region. The village itself was very quiet (i.e. no bar open for an evening aperitif) but the Wednesday evening 'nocturne' was a blast, and everyone made us feel very welcome.

A great location to visit the surrounding area. 40 mins from Gruissan beach, Roqebrun for kayaking and cycling along the canal du midi. The table du casino is great for dinner in the village. Some constructive feedback for the owners - The pool wasn’t as clean as it should be. Where we have stayed before the pool is cleaned/hoovered on a weekly basis, by the end of the week is was rather dirty and needed a proper good clean,Also the bathrooms needed a good deep clean.A lovely house full of character. Many thanks

Glad you enjoyed it overall. Upon inspection we discovered The pool is cleaned weekly. Upon inspection we discovered an issue with a filter that has now been remedied. I will have the bathrooms checked - we have nevver had a suggestion of a problem before ,or any comments, but we need to make sure that it stays that way! - and that they remain spotless as previously.

Ginestas Gem

Just back from a glorious week in Ginestas. The house was everything I expected and more. Really good feel about the property and everyone enjoyed it. It was clean, very well equipped, and we wanted for nothing. The pool was very welcome when the temperatures hit the 30's. Would recommend very highly and a special mention for Karen and Hazel who were very accommodating. Thank you both.

Perfect family holiday

We had a really fabulous week here. The house was beautiful and spacious and the pool was much enjoyed by all. We ate at several of the restaurants in the village and had very good experiences in all. The people in the local village were warm and friendly. The house was in an excellent location for exploring Carcasonne, Beziers and Narbonne and all the beautiful villages. It is also close to the Canal du midi. All in all, a fabulous trip to a wonderful house in a beautiful location. Thank you to Mark for allowing us to enjoy his beautiful home.

Perfect!

The house provided a perfect base, loads of space, functional facilities and a wonderful outside area with fantastic swimming pool! The village it’s self was an ideal location with a bakery, village shop, bank and eateries, pop up shops and fête with live music and food stalls. However, the best restaurant we ate at was in the neighbouring village by the Midi canal. Day trips are easy with a car, Carcassonne and Minerva make for great days out and coming back home to MarksPlace put a real smile on all our faces. The property is even more impressive than it appears in the photos. Mark and his house managers are very responsive, friendly and helpful. Thank you for truly unforgettable holiday for all, cherished memories were made and nobody wanted to leave.

October getaway

The house is lovely. We arrived after a long day of travelling, and the standard delays in picking a hire car up - this meant we arrived in the dark, tired and frazzled. When we opened the door all the tiredness evaporated and everyone was excited about the house and the holiday. The house is huge - so deceptive from the outside but it also has really grand proportions (high ceilings etc). We stayed with extended family and the number of bathrooms was very welcome. Everything is comfortable and well-stocked. We were there at the end of October and the weather was very hot. The use of the pool was very welcome. Ginestas is a lovely village and the house is perfectly placed for a stroll around, or to pop to the shops/ bars in the village.
