Historic Farmette - The Chicken Coop Inn

Built in 1862, this self-contained 1 bedroom, 1 bath unit attached to the main home is situated on 1.5 acres. Brimming with antiques, you will find all the comforts of home. A kitchenette is nicely appointed with cooking and serving essentials, refrigerator/freezer, coffeemaker, cooktop and convection microwave. The bathroom is furnished with spa towels, locally sourced handcrafted soaps, and a hair dryer. A comfy bed with cozy linens complete your relaxing stay.

We offer wireless internet as well as a TV with a guest Netflix account. The unit is centrally heated and air conditioned with your own thermostat.

As a gateway to southeast Wisconsin, we are conveniently located 5.9 miles to Lake Geneva, 7.3 miles to Twin Lakes (Lake Mary and Lake Elizabeth) and 5.9 miles to historic Richmond, Illinois. And that is just the start!

There is an endless array of choices for everyone to enjoy, and if you have questions or would like some suggestions, we can help with that too.

We do not charge a cleaning fee.

Clean, quaint, super location to visit lake geneva. Enjoyed having wine and cheese sitting by the fire in beautiful outdoor setting. Having our own control for air conditioner, wonderful shower head, and small private back porch made it even better. Thanks!

Cute, cozy, quiet retreat. We were intown for wedding and needed a place for the weekend. This property is a few minutes from downtown Lake Geneva and more than met expectations. It was quiet and comfortable. The side patio was a great place for a morning cup of coffee to start your day while looking over the garden.The hosts were wonderful and responsive. 10 out of 10 would recommend and would stay again.

We had a great time at the chicken coop inn. Linda and Tom were great. Location is very close to all the Lake Geneva activities and restaurants. We will definitely stay here the next time we’re in the area!

The Vrbo and the hosts were very welcoming from the time that we pulled into the driveway the first day clear through to departing. I can't recommend this cute little retreat enough! I will definitely suggest this place to anyone I know traveling to the area.

Quick visit for Wedding nearby

I loved my stay! Although it was a short time I was there, Tom and Linda were so accommodating and I appreciated the sweet welcome card and homemade muffin too! I will definitely stay again when in the area.

Perfect for 2 gals with about a 10 minute drive visiting Lake Geneva. We came home to hot pressurized showers, shaded patio for wine and snacks (Thanks Linda and Tom), a comfy bed for power naps, and space for all our overpacked bags and coolers. We did not hear people in the hallway, no elevator dings, or hotel guests showering or bathrooms flushing. And yes, there are chickens in the backyard to visit. We watched them while we were on the side patio. It was a perfect weekend.

Perfect for a short getaway!

We stayed here while visiting Lake Geneva, and it was a perfect place for a short getaway! It was a perfect size for two people, and the owners do a great job of introducing themselves and being available if guests need anything. We got some great scenic recommendations! Overall, we would definitely come here again.

My friend and I stayed for a night after a concert at Alpine Valley. It was a cozy place in great proximity to Alpine Valley. Linda was great to work with and very welcoming. We would definitely stay again if we are in the area!
