A quarter-mile drive into the woods will bring you to our homestead that's situated on 40 acres that has it all -- ponds, woods, grass, trails and orchards. You'll feel like you're away from it all but you're really close to local attractions. Just 8 miles from Road America, 10 miles to Kohler, and 10 miles to Whistling Straits.

The house features a large eat-in kitchen, 2 full bathrooms and 3 bedrooms with queen beds. The family room and kitchen feature large picture windows to take in the natural beauty of every season. The private backyard overlooks a small pond and includes a fire pit. The house has boiler heat with no duct work for central air. Portable AC units are provided during summer.

House was very clean, bedding was sooo comfortable, bathrooms shined. The views from the dining table at dawn were gorgeous. Had a little issue with internet but a text to Lori took care of it and we had solid internet access the entire weekend. Our 2nd visit in 2026 as well as 2 visits previous years makes this our favorite place close to Elkhart Lake & Road America. Quiet, beautiful scenery, and the friendliest kitty!

Super clean home and beds were comfy. Beautiful area. The burden placed on us to strip beds and clean before we left was a bit more than we’ve been asked to do in the past at other properties and we felt that the requirements were excessive for the price point of the rental. For example, if it snowed we would have to shovel. My husband is in his 70s and our companions in their 80s, so the shoveling caught us all by surprise. Glad it did not snow. We had challenges figuring out the fancy coffee brewer (instructions would have been helpful) and thermostats (turned out two of three needed new batteries). The nonstick cookware was completely worn out with coating scratched down to the metal, which made it hard (and unsafe) to cook breakfast. Our hosts were very nice, immediately responsive and close by for anything we needed. I don’t think we’d choose this property in the future.

A Welcoming Retreat

A very nice place to stay! It was clean, spacious and homey. The outdoor area was beautiful and peaceful. It was everything that we needed and we felt so comfortable here. We would definitely stay again!

Great Stay!

It was a wonderful stay. Perfect location. Great property. Loved the outside firepit and pond! Delightful. The rooms were comfortable. The picnic table in the dining area was super fun for the four of us to eat and play board games. Thank you for giving us a super vacation!

Great place to stay for Road America

Stayed with a group of friends for Road America. The house was exactly what we needed for a “home base” while we spent the weekend at the track. The property is lovely, only complaint I have is that I didn’t have time to spend more time outdoors there!

Perfect Retreat

This is our second time staying at HD Acres and the cabin is a great place to stay if you are in town for Road America. Not too far away and it is a quiet, clean cabin on beautiful property. The host is great and very tenative. Thank you so much!

Race Team Track Weekend

Traveled to Road America for a weekend endurance race. Chose to stay off site and this cabin nestled in the woods was the perfect choice. Great place to stay, quiet, clean, and the owners are very nice. They take great pride and care of their property and it made our trip even more special. Thank you!
