This spacious three-story home accommodates larger group gatherings for year-round activities with plenty of parking for cars & ATV trailers*.

With views of the mountains and Detroit Lake this 2,500 SF home has three bedrooms and a large private loft-suite as the fourth bedroom. Home has central heat, A/C, Wi-Fi and excellent cellular service.

The main floor has fully equipped kitchen, dining table for 8, and living area stocked with family games, puzzles, 55" smart-TV, and DVD player. The lower floor has two bedrooms, full bathroom, and washer & dryer. The loft-suite includes a small living area, smart-TV, 2 queen beds, and twin trundle bed. Outdoors, we have camp chairs, fire pit w/wood, BBQ grill, holey board set, water toys, and frisbees for outside play.

Detroit offers year-round activities including boating, fishing, hiking, mushroom picking, snowmobiling, biking, ATVing, or just a relaxing getaway. The house is .8 miles to Detroit Lake, 17.5 miles to Breitenbush Hot Springs, 36 miles to Hoodoo Ski area, 56 miles to Sisters.

Important Notes: Our home is a non-smoking home inside, with smoking allowed only outdoors at least 10 feet from the house. We welcome a maximum of 2 dogs. Please inform us in advance so we can make necessary arrangements for your stay.

The host was quick to communicate when I had questions at all points of our trip (before and at check out). The house was very clean and stocked with all essentials for cooking, bathing and sleeping. The view was wonderful from any location both in and outside the house. We had a group of 7 adults and one dog, and had plenty of space for folks to cook/entertain, play games and watch TV in the evenings. We visited the town - no Saturday market on that Saturday but we found an estate sale driving the neighborhood which was fun. We enjoyed day trips to the lake and the Santiam river to cool off, which was great. Over all, an excellet experience.

Lovely home for friends

Four of us needed a place to stay as we were attending the Sisters Quilt Show. The home was beautiful, clean, quiet, and comfortable. We would love to stay here again!

We have stayed at Bear Grass Lodge many times and it feels like home. It has everything you need to enjoy some time out of the rat race. It’s beautiful to see the community of Detroit building back stronger than ever❤️

Fabulous Home

This home was very comfortable it had all necessities. Our family cooked meals in kitchen, BBQ’d and played games. The beds were very nice and bathrooms adequately stocked. We will definitely stay again.

Views of Detroit Lake

Nice home with views of the beautiful Detroit Lake. The home is well stocked with all essentials plenty of room for our group of 8 and the owners were very helpful and responsive.

Great Lake House!

Incredible

From the point of check in, Nancy was incredible, very accommodating and helped me get the booking. We were working in the Detroit area and were very fortunate to find such a wonderful place that not only had great views but was spacious, very clean, had plenty of parking, and was just a great home to be able to stay in while away.

Home so nice we booked it twice!

Our last stay at this home was so great that it was an easy decision to re-book when we returned to the area for more work this spring. The home was just as pleasant as the last time, and we are looking forward to returning again next month! An absolute must book if you are in the area - even if you aren't, maybe you should be! Detroit is a lovely town.

Awesome place

Had a mini-family reunion on the lake. The house was lovely and everyone had a great time. The only very slight negatives were no bathroom upstairs for the loft and the outdoor grill was only half-working. But overall 5 stars!! Would definitely stay again!

Friends get together

Fabulous home and wonderful hosts!

The house served our needs perfectly and had plenty of room for our group of 4 adults. There were lots of thoughtful, personal touches throughout the house, and communication with the host was excellent. It really felt like staying in a HOME - and a cozy one at that! The location is great, super close to the lake and downtown, with a really nice view. We will be back for sure and would absolutely recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in the Detroit area.

Wedding stay

The location is really beautiful. Mornings on the front deck with coffee watching the sun on the mountains is really relaxing and refreshing. Everything was as good as can be in a rental property. Would definitely recommend this property to everyone. I hope we get to visit again sometime. Thanks to the host for great communication.

We live in nearby Salem, OR. This is our first vacation home as a rental, but Nancy has many years in the hospitality business from opening the Napa Valley Railway Inn to managing Embassy Suites Hotels.

Sharing our home and vacationing with friends and family is our pastime. We love to travel locally and abroad, wherever you are, it's all about the experience!

Detroit is less than an hour from the Willamette Valley. You can escape to the water and the mountains in no time.

The home is large for the family and friends to gather together and still have personal space. With four separate sleeping spaces, it's a great spot for a extended family gathering, guys or girl's weekend, church retreat, or teambuilding weekend.

There is even a short path up the hill where you can pitch a large tent. Lots of great memories to be made here.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

The original owners planted Bear Grass as part of the landscaping. A family friend made the Bear Grass Lodge sign using a magnifying glass to burn in the details into the wood plank that hangs in the entryway. The name has stuck!

We have lots of parking and plenty of room for boat trailers. Inside there's plenty of elbow room and outside spaces.
