Amazing

We absolutely LOVED this place. Secluded but close to town. Huge! Plenty of room for all 16 of our party! They had everything you could ever need to help it feel just like home! Plenty of hot water and great water pressure in every shower which was a must in feels like 14F weather! We all LOVED the hot tub. House was just beautiful inside and out. So thankful to have found this gem. Would love to come back for years to come! Kids loved the fuse ball table :) played cards all night and always had someone roasting by the fireplace! 10/10 would recommend 3

Annual Holiday Family Trip

This is our second time staying at this beautiful home for our annual holiday trip with our kids and grandkids. Has everything you could want & more- a fully stocked kitchen, second refrigerator, plenty of bathrooms, and beautiful decor, and views.

Mountain Getaway

Pleasant stay for the family. Nine and a baby. Cabin is spacious, with plenty of room for cooking and eating. Really enjoyed the hot tub on the deck. Spectacular view off the back deck. 4-5 mile drive back to Franklin, but was worth it.

Returned to our Franklin Mountain Retreat for a 2nd visit

Loved staying here again. Property is perfection for a mountain stay. Centralized location for Gem Mining, Horseback Riding & River Tubing. Loved relaxing on the back porch. Great home. Will return for visit #3. River Tubing.

2024 Family get together 16 people

Huge cabin, beautiful in a wonderful location. Have never had a cabin as equipped as this one. It even included the laundry detergent we would need when using the washer. We have children(6) and 8 grandchildren who live in 3 different states. They all got to know their cousins and Aunts and Uncles for the 4 nights we were there. Thanks for helping our family stay together in style.

Amazing

This was exactly what the family needed. Plenty of room for the 14 of us. We kept entertained with billards, corn hole, having fires and cooking. I even talked the family into some local gem mining. A tranquil place with alot of character. I plan on going back.

Castle Ladyhawke wedding

If you are looking for a family friendly home away from home this will fill the bill. We were a family of 13 with a small dog and could not be happier with our selection of this cabin. It was a little further from the venue we were attending but well worth the drive. The Beswick’s had everything that you could ever need for entertaining 4 year old kids to 75 year old grandparents. We will be booking again for a vacation next year.

Lots of room for our large family

I would definitely stay here again. There was lots of room for all 15 of us. The wrap-around deck was wonderful. The hot tub was used every night. Not too far from Franklin where there were lots of cute shops and good restaurants. The kitchen was well stocked with all sorts of pots, pans, dishes, plenty of silverware, etc. I highly recommend.

Wonderful vacation

This house was perfect for our extended family. It had everything we needed and more. If you enjoy cooking together, the kitchen is roomy and well equipped. Each couple took a night and cooked for the whole group. Besides taking in and enjoying the beautiful view from the living room and porch, there are plenty of other things to do both inside and outside. It was the perfect getaway and we plan to return next year.

Everything you could need

This cabin was large enough for my husband and I, all our kids and our grandkids (9 adults and 2 children). The kitchen truly has enough dishes, pots and pans and cooking utensils you could possibly need. The view from the balcony is absolutely gorgeous! We rented a pontoon boat one day and went out boating and tubing on Lake Chatuge. We also went mining for gems, shopping in downtown Franklin and of course went to the Lazy Hiker. We all had a great time.

Family Getaway

We absolutely loved this home. We had 12 adults and 2 children. Everyone was comfortable and not crowded. The pool table and foos ball were a great hit. The drive was winding and beautiful. We were able to enjoy downtown Franklin, Highlands, Glenville Lake, the national forest, thrifting all from our awesome home base.

Fantastic property that is well stocked

We had a fantastic time at this house. We were in the area for graduation at WCU (about a 30 minute drive). Communications with the property owner was fantastic. It's listed as 6-bedroom home, but there are only 5 bedrooms. (three bedrooms on the main floor and two in the basement) There are TWO open loft areas with three beds, and couches in the basement. If you are counting "rooms", it's five. We have rented 8 homes through VRBO in the last 5 years. This one is the most well-stocked house we have ever stayed in. They have everything, but a well-working can opener! The coffee bar was a hit with our guests. Hot tub, grill, fire pit, all wonderful. They provided firewood which was really helpful. A porch swing would be a great addition. My only complaint is that temperatures are hard to regulate in the three stories. The basement was always cold even after closing all of the vents. The loft area was obviously a lot warmer, but fans are provided. The property looks into a mountain instead of on top of a mountain. The view is very nice. There are a couple of homes close-by than you can hear others, but it's pretty secluded. Overall, it was a very nice place to stay and we would definitely rent this house again. Do not hesitate to rent this home!!!

Beautiful cabin an area. WOW

We used the house as a base for 6 couples to ride motorcycles in the mountains. Truly a gorgeous place. The wifi is pretty decent actually as long as it isn't storming. Verizon and USCellular had no reception up there, but AT&T reportedly works pretty decent up there. The only thing I can saw that was not ideal was the last little bit once you turn onto the last short rode leading to the driveway. It is rock and pretty tricky on heavy street bikes, but not a challenge for car or truck.

Birthday celebration

Excellent Excellent property!!!! I can't say enough good things a out this AMAZING house. Great location close to Franklin. Well furnished with everything you need to stay. We spent a week here with 9 adults and 6 kids. Plenty of room! Kitchen was well stocked with every pot, pan, dish and utensil you could need. Pool table, Foosball, corn hole, hot tub. I could go on and on!! We're looking at making this an annual trip. Loved it!!!

Favorite mountain home!

Our family has had the joy of staying at this amazing home twice and both times were fantastic! There’s plenty of room to spread out while feeling cozy and welcoming at the same time. The location is perfect for quick drives to hiking trails and quaint, downtown Franklin. We also enjoyed staying home and playing outdoor games in the large backyard. Our grandchildren especially loved the hot tub!

Beautiful!

The pictures really don’t do this place justice. This house is beautiful and spacious! We had a wonderful time! We had eight people and honestly could have fit a ton more. This place is PERFECT for your little fur friends. They allowed our three dogs to come and it was perfect with the big yard and wrap around porch that had gates so we could keep an easy eye on everyone. The entire house was stocked (spices, laundry detergent, etc). We highly recommend and would love to return!

Lovely Family Weekend

We had our annual holiday weekend at this lovely home with our children and grandchildren. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out, but we still felt like we were connected. The kitchen is amazing and has most of what you could want. We had a great time and will definitely be returning!

Excellent stay

The cabin was perfect for our family. We had 10 adults & 1 toddler. Lots of space for everyone. We made lots of memories. The cabin was well stocked. Victoria was amazing! While we were in NC we had a serious emergency. I reached out to Victoria to let her know what was going on. She was wonderful. She stayed in touch with us. She even checked on us the next day and offered her help if we needed anything. We are beyond happy with how everything was handled. Victoria thank you for your kindness! If we ever make it back to NC we would stay here again

Family Mountain Getaway

What a wonderful time had by all at this mountain getaway. Our family enjoyed all the cabin had to offer. As a family that loves to cook, we enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen. We enjoyed hanging out by the fire pit each night and finishing it all up in the hot tub which was great after hiking. With such a close proximity to town, we enjoyed breweries and river walks too. The house was clean and had plenty of towels, sheets and blankets. When the listing says it has slow WiFi, they mean it! Hot spots were needed for anyone working remotely. Thank you for such a wonderful long weekend!

Awesome family vacation

The House is beautiful, plenty of room for all 13 of us. Very well stocked with everything, clean, and comfortable. Sitting on the wraparound deck at 5:30 am, listening to the silence and breathing the good air was almost a spiritual experience… and the location of the house was perfect. So much to do, so much to see. Our family of 13 enjoyed everything immensely. Thank you for your hospitality and for sharing your beautiful home with us!

A few minor complaints but overall a wonderful cabin

Annual family reunion week at this cabin was amazing. Few small things that could be improved. Here are my pros & cons: PROS: -So deep in the mountains that you feel like you're off the grid. No cell service & very weak/spotty WiFi really allowed us to disconnect from phones, work, etc & enjoy the time together -VERY spacious! Huge rooms, bathrooms, & common areas -Amazing view! Wrap around porch with many chairs & tables. Huge windows inside allowed us to enjoy the view from indoors also -Many things were provided that usually aren't in short term rentals - toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, etc -Lots of entertainment right at the house - 2 fire pits (there was wood/fire starters already there too), hot tub, pool table, grill -Downstairs entertainment area was great with the pool table & game table! It allowed us to stay up late without waking the toddler sleeping upstairs -Comfortable beds -Every bedroom has its own bathroom except for 2 that share a bathroom -Very responsive property manager CONS: -The cleaning crew is sub-par. When we arrived my almost 2 year old immediately took her shoes off & ran around the house...not even 20 min later the bottoms of her socks were disgusting. Floors were filthy. Then my toddler pulled out several gross things from under the couches...someone's dirty sock (not belonging to any of us), old food pieces, random game pieces that didn't belong to us that were covered in hair, dirt, dust balls. The couches were easy to move but clearly aren't moved to clean under. Also lots of dust on some of the furniture -Searched everywhere & couldn't find a wine opener anywhere -Can opener was super cheap & didn't work, had to improvise to figure out how to open cans of beans we wanted to have with our dinner -Hot tub stopped working the first night we used it...BUT the property manager was great & had someone over the next day to fix it. The repair guy said the water level was way too low & full of bacteria so he cleaned that up too -ENORMOUS yellow jacket nest under the deck. -Carpenter bees had burrowed inside the outside panels of the house. There was a can of spray but barely anything in it -Main floor bathroom door would sometimes not unlock & someone would be stuck in there for a few min until they could get it to open -Downstairs was freezing while upstairs would be hot because there's only 1 thermostat -Downstairs door to outside was broken, had to lift and push hard
