Utopia on Oil Creek (waterfront property)

Utopia is a waterfront cabin located on 4 acres overlooking Oil Creek in Derby Indiana. Originally constructed in 1849 and dismantled and moved to its current location today in 2019. It offers a queen bed in the upstairs sleeping loft and a futon on the main floor. It has 1 bathroom with a washer and dryer also. The kitchen is stocked with whatever you need to enjoy your stay. The hot tub is located on the front porch overlooking the grounds and creek. Hot tub is cleaned between stays and will require time to reheat. We have a fire pit off the deck. A charcoal grill is provided but you need to bring your own charcoal. Utopia is a short walk to the Mogan Ridge Trailhead. Utopia is the perfect place for a small family to come relax and enjoy a fishing trip or a relaxing getaway.
The Derby Community Center and park is located in Derby just a short drive away. They host many events and also have a boat ramp into the Ohio River. There are basketball courts, swings, slides, a shelter house at the park.

Beautiful cabin, quiet and peaceful. The hot tub was amazing! Definitely would stay here again for a weekend getaway.

The property was beautiful. Cabin homey and clean. Our stay was so peaceful and relaxing. The only thing would be to include that no WiFi and low reception, you are pretty much not going to have any connection. We enjoyed our time walking beautiful trails and relaxing with good books.

Great little cabin in secluded bliss. Was surprised there was no wifi. Ladder to get upstairs steeeeep. Not for elderly people unless they slept in living room on futon. Hot tub great! (Needs braced underneath before it collapses.) If you plan to eat in take groceries with you. No big stores around and the Derby Market and General Store are . Overall a great little cabin in the woods.

Great cabin

Great little cabin. Perfect for a weekend great for a couple.. This is our second year in a row renting this cabin and We absolutely enjoyed it. Cant wait to come again thank you

Authentic cabin experience with present day amenities. Property with mature trees and quiet sprawling hills overlooking the creek. Hot tub was great. Tell City is a beautiful short drive away. There is no internet at cabin and cell service is very limited. Could use some towel bars, caulking, cubbard cleaning and dish expansion,and some furniture updating. A/C had issue keeping up as it was in the 90s though. Take extra fans to circulate air up to loft sleeping area. Would return again, as the value is there, just needed a little more.

Great Cabin

Overall it was a great cabin. It was close to trails and the Hoosier National Forest. Cabin was as described and look forward to returning.

Quite, peaceful, and perfect!

Needed a break from the business of life. Needed a place with no distractions and the noise was silenced. A place to just do nothing. A place to just relax and reset. It was perfect!

Weekend getaway

Our family of 4 plus our dog had a great weekend getaway. The grounds were absolutely perfect. Enough room for us to relax and enjoy, the hot tub was also perfect touch! We plan to return!!

Lovely cabin!

Such a beautiful area. Very secluded with beautiful views of water in the back yard. The cabin was nicely updated, everything we needed for cooking supplied. We would stay again!

Time in nature

The cabin is in a beautiful area with hiking near by. It felt very private and had everything we needed for a weekend away. The kitchen was great to cook in and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. If you have a low profile car, go extraordinarily slow on the gravel driveway. There is also almost no cell signal, so keep that in mind if you need to keep in contact with anyone.
