Family getaway for the holidays

This cabin was the perfect fit for my family! We spent the days skiing and the nights hanging out as a family playing games and eating lots of good food. The layout of the cabin was great with lots of bed and bathrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed and we definitely felt at home.

Winter Wonderland

Our annual ski trip was awesome at the Mackert Family Cabin. Our group of 16 had a blast! The rooms were beautiful. The cabin comfortably accommodated our group. The trees surrounding the cabin were amazing especially with all of the fresh snow. The kitchen had every appliance we needed. The hosts were very responsive. The cabin was immaculate. We would definitely stay again.

Great property and owners!

We stayed at this house as part of a mountain biking trip with a group of friends. House was very nice - lots of space and very well appointed. Owners were incredibly responsive and could not have been nicer. Highly recommend.

Great getaway in Nature

The host was incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond. They poured into attention to detail all thru out this property and that made it very comfortable to enjoy! Will definitely go back!

Family Ski Weekend

Susan, the owner/manager was very easy to work with and provided all the information we needed in advance to enjoy this beautiful cabin in Brian Head. The cabin was very clean and amenities such as the pool/ping pong table made it extra fun for the kids and adults. Highly recommend this property when visiting Brian Head.

Relaxing mountain stay

We got snowed out while skiing, owners called the city and got us plowed out right away. Comfortable beds, great showers with hot water and great water pressure. Smelled nice, spacious and fun fir the family and friends.

We had a great time at this location. The property was perfect for our large group and very clean. The kids had fun sledding and exploring outside. The owners were great, they even provided welcome treats for our arrival. Thank you Susan and Shem!!

Beautiful House and Perfect for a Family Trip

We had an amazing time at the beautiful house with our family. We especially loved the outdoor tables and couch where we all got to hang, play cards and talk. One day we did Bryce Canyon which was only about an hour and a half away, the next day we stayed local at Brian head and did the summer activities at the mountain, fished and hiked Cedar monuments trail. It was a perfect house for our family trip!

Winter wonderland

This is our second time staying at this cabin and we absolutely love it. The house is spacious and had everything we needed. We love how nice and quiet the neighborhood is and the kids can go outside and play in the snow and sled in-front of the house. The ski slopes are also very close, making it perfect for skiing with kids.

Nice cabin with amazing hosts

The home was very clean and great for our family. Every bedroom had direct access to a bathroom. The kids loved the upstairs games and TV room. Sue was fantastic at communicating and providing information even before we had to ask.

Perfect home for family get away!

This home is spectacular-obviously built and furnished with love! Spotless, fully stocked. Beds are so comfortable-everyone in our group commented on their comfort. The welcome cookies were so appreciated after a long travel day. And the recommendation for Chef V was perfect-we had a wonderfully cooked birthday dinner and we all wanted her recipes! Would highly recommend this property!

All the comforts from home and more!

We had an amazing time! We had all the comforts from home and more. The kitchen had all appliances and kitchen tools we needed. The bath towels were plush and confortable. The kids loved all the gaming tables, ping-pong was a favorite. The cabin was modern and cozy. We were able to enjoy the gorgeous scenery from the big windows. And the kids love the sledding right outside the door.

Perfect,

Thanks for sharing your cabin with us! We had such a wonderful time. The cabin is beautiful inside and out. It could not have accommodated us better. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our group of 12 adults and 3 young children. The kitchen was well stocked as well as the rest of the cabin. We enjoyed spending time on the large deck around the fire pit in the evenings along with the view. There is much to do in the area and plenty to keep us entertained with the ping pong and pool table. We didn’t turn the tv on once. We can’t wait to come back!

Loved our cabin in the woods

This cabin was the perfect gathing space for our family! We loved the pine tree covered property. The home was very clean and we enjoyed the thoughtful check in gift. Our days started and ended enjoying the beautiful weather on the huge wrap around porch. We snuggled under blankets or warmed by the fire when it was chilly. We appreciated the fully stocked kitchen (we Re a foodie family!). The oven ignitor broke on the 4th of July and wasn't able to be fixed before we had to leave but we were able to make due with the large gas bbq and stove top. The kids (and adults) enjoyed playing foose ball and ping pong and we enjoyed binge watching the Karate Kid. We have some very picku travelers in our large group, and all were satisfied with our stay. We can't wait to come back!

Wish we could have stayed longer

Our family enjoyed this thoughtfully designed, beautifully crafted home so much and wished we could have stayed longer. The homeowners, Shem and Susan, responded quickly to questions about detours and directions and even took the time to drop off cookies for us! Each family enjoyed having a private room/bathroom, and the kids had fun with the many games and activities provided. We also liked sitting on the porch listening to the birds and flowing stream, taking walks to the local country store and coffee shop, and seeing the nearby national parks and monuments. It’s a lovely place to make special memories with family!

Amazing ski cabin

It is easy to see how awesome the property is for families. Plenty of beds, amenities, the kids loved the foosball table. Family owned, they went through the extra cost to have snow shoveled and access plowed so we could have an easier time getting in. Who does that these days??? Hi! We are Shem and Sue Mackert. Shem is a builder by trade and passion. Sue manages academics for two private schools. We have a large blended family and many grandchildren. We both love to ski. Our children (and now grandchildren) snowboard. In the summer we fish and ride bike trails or hike in Brian Head and surrounding areas.

We met while skiing on the slopes of Brian Head so this mountain is special to us. In 2018, with the help of our sons, we created our dream cabin in a quiet hollow in east Brian Head. We chose this property because the ground was flat enough for our grandchildren to safely run and explore. We also loved the little stream that runs through the property during the spring and early summer months and we loved how private and quiet the property feels, while still having easy access to the ski slopes and hiking trails. With every step of our planning and building we had the safety and entertainment of our grandchildren in mind. This is our dream and we love sharing it with others who appreciate the hand-crafted details. Our cabin is named Bennett's Creek after a grandchild who passed away the year our cabin opened.

Step inside this new and modern twist on an old frontier home featuring large timber posts, custom crafted doors and furniture, and an abundance of natural lighting pouring through the large wall of windows. Trimmed with metal brackets, stone and beams stained to appear aged, this cabin has all the comforts of home.

Kick back on the leather sofas and watch satellite TV or warm up after a day on the slopes by the gas fireplace. When you are rested head to the fully stocked kitchen to create a feast for your group, or keep the cook company as you lounge at the breakfast bar. Don't want to cook? Ask about our private chef option! Downstairs you'll find a second living area with a bar, TV and another gas fireplace. Pour yourself a drink and enjoy a game of pool, or lounge over a movie or game of chess.

On the top floor you'll find an open loft with foosball, ping-pong, and a second loft above the bunk beds for a dream kid hideout. If the teens need a quiet hangout they can go into the private game room where they will find another smart TV, gaming options, and a sofa sleeper for extra sleeping options.

Step outside to the wrap around deck to breath in the fresh mountain air. The property is beautiful and wild and you can enjoy this view from the wide porch that wraps around three sides of the cabin. You might spot a deer among the pines, a baby fox, or a variety of birds. Choose one of the swing benches made from old ski lifts or cozy deck furniture around a gas fire pit. In the summer roast marshmallows over the fire pit in the yard where there is always plenty of chopped wood for your use.

No matter which bedroom you choose you will have a comfortable night's rest for the next day's activities with upscale Marriott mattresses, comforters and linens.
